I took my 2006 Ford F-150 Super cab Truck to them for some help getting my AMP power steps to work, I had an appointment for 8:00 am spent four and a half hours waiting to hear them tell me that there was something wrong with the truck to why the steps would not deploy properly? I was told I would not be charged any $$ because nothing was solved and I was sent on my way? When I got home I found that the wiring components I had given were on the rear floor board of the truck un used, the after further investigation I found where they had cut my wire harness only to splice it back together with a butt connector with out sealing it to prevent any type of moisture or corrosion, So after seeing this type of work I was not impressed thinking that these guys are to be professional Installers? Not Impressed at this shop at all. read more

Where do I begin... we've tried getting our truck in 2x now to get our bedliner done and have been cancelled both times at the last minute. The first time, we were called the night before our appointment saying that their sprayer called out and the next appointment they could get us in was almost a week later (albeit it was not our fault for the cancellation). Would have been nice to know before we had detailed the truck to prep for our appointment. The second time I thought it we were in the clear when we got the reminder phone call the night before for our rescheduled appointment. Well, I should've held my breath because we got a call as we were headed out the door that the sprayer called out again. Again, after a second time of detailing and prepping for our appointment. And two days spent missing work for no reason. I get that life happens, it's inevitable. But I'm not sure why they put all of their eggs in one basket by only having this one sprayer they keep referring to? The $50 inconvenience discount was almost laughable, followed by the defensive "Yeah, but do you know how much money we're losing?" from the employee who delivered the bad news that our second appointment wouldn't be happening (and didn't know when he'd get us rescheduled for a THIRD time). We ended up asking for our deposit back and was able to get in same day at another shop nearby. They even had a military discount! Really unfortunate experience at Trucksmart but glad I could get in somewhere else. read more

I had difficulty finding a business that would install a receiver hitch on my Tesla for a bicycle rack but Trucksmart took on the project without hesitation. Fortunately REI recommended this business after I expressed frustration. Johnny at Trucksmart ordered the special parts which took about a week, kept me updated me by email, then the business got me scheduled 4 days later for installation. Works great. I'm happy with the installation but technically, I should have given 4 - 4.5 stars. Probably should have deducted 0.5 - 1 star because no explanation was provided on how to attach/ remove the stealth portion of the hitch. They took my money at the desk and bid me adieu. Fortunately, I figured it out from the Owners Manual & YouTube. Fast. Fair price. Honest. Very good business that would be perfect if product explanation offered. read more

Yes, i should have asked for the total cost, but i trusted what they wrote in the email as total cost with tax, only to be shocked when you go to pick vehicle up double price stated.... I have a 2018 Ford F-150 with a 5.5' bed and Trucksmart installed the Bakflip MX4 for me. From the first time I spoke with someone on the phone, they were polite, helpful, and quick to respond. I didn't have to wait on hold when I called and when I went in someone came over to help me right away. I loved that they had samples of the tonneau covers to play with in the show room. It really helps you visualize the product you're going to get. They ordered my Bakflip and had it installed just in time for us to take a trip to Tahoe and it came in handy because we ran into snow. I haven't noticed it leaking at all, but I also haven't looked to closely. Water tightness was not a priority for me. The only con I can think of on the MX4 is you have to have the tailgate open to open the tonneau cover. It's been a small hassle, but not worth spending hundreds more to get the rolling model. Anyways, overall great experience. Would definitely go there for any future truck needs. read more

They had me drive an hour and a half in for an appointment then wait for my truck for 2 hours just to tell me they didn't have all of the parts. They didn't care about my time at all. They're response "sorry not my problem". That's your problem you have to drive all the way back for a hour appointment to put another part on my truck. It's your responsibility to make sure you have all of the parts there when you call me and tell me come in for my installation appointment. read more

They successfully installed my hitch and wiring harness. But I was disappointed that I didn't get the wiring socket I was expecting, which could have been an issue in communication on either side. Also, my bumper was scratched, which they labeled as pre-existing... which is possible but unlikely, I had never noticed it before. Overall this was not a terrible experience, but not great either. I had them install a truck rack on my new Silverado recently. The rack was installed well, as promised, on the appointed day with no issues. I informed them up front that I was buying the rack system to carry my canoes. Unfortunately once it was installed, I found that it was not tall enough to fit my canoes since canoes have a slight bow to them. When I pointed that out, they said "sorry, this brand is new to us". My advice is, know in advance what you are looking for, since they apparently aren't experts in what they sell. After spending $700+, I now have to either find a fabricator to make them taller, or look for some other makeshift solution. I wish I would have known upfront their lack of knowledge of the product. I would have gone elsewhere, or atleast done a lot more research on my own. Live & Learn! read more

I bought a new pickup truck this summer and wanted a shell/cap for it. I'd decided on the brand & model and started looking around at dealer-installers. After checking reviews online for a week, I emailed a few & explained I needed to be careful regarding COVID b/c I'm caring for an elderly relative with health issues, so I wanted to do as much of the process as possible over email. Most of my local Bay Area dealer-installers were not on that short list due to customer complaints. Johnny from Trucksmart in Rocklin responded to my email and after we exchanged a few more messages and a phone call, the order was placed. A month later (as Johnny had estimated it would take), we made the appointment for the install and they called a day or two before as a reminder. I drove out to Rocklin from the Bay Area, showed up on time and their technician was already moving my cap off the rack to the service bay. They said it would take X hours and that estimate was dead-on. In the meantime I took a walk, read & checked out the shop - lots of good quality truck accessories. Summary: Great communication via email, phone & in person. Likewise, top notch customer service. And the gentleman who did the install did a really nice job of it, he was even able to take advantage of a quirk of my drop-in bedliner to make the install cleaner. They were a no-mask shop but I appreciate that it was not an issue that I wore mine and preferred to distance while I waited. Obviously we differed on that but it did not interfere with their professionalism nor friendliness & service, and I respect that. I will do business with them again, it was very much worth the drive to Rocklin and I recommend them to anyone else looking for truck accessories. read more

I had Trucksmart install 8 exterior lights on the uplifter switches in my 2019 Ford Raptor. Two of the lights had halo rings that required separate wires to the fuse panel (independent of the uplifter switch). The total billed time was 6 hours; it would have taken me 6 weeks! After the installation, I crawled under the truck and looked under the hood to see the wiring paths and attachment points. The workmanship was EXCELLENT and the attention to detail was first-class. Their hourly rates are very reasonable given the comparison with auto dealerships. The counter person told me he would not attempt the job given its complexity and required knowledge of vehicle electronics. I agreed! The installer had the experience of 70-80 such installations. I spoke to Johnny, he quoted me $99 for 2 tail lights for my mortohome, I told him I could order them from Race Mart in FL for $53 each ($106 + tax) I needed them by 6-24-15. Johnny assured me he could have the 2 tail lights in by 6-23-15 at $99 + tax so I said lets do it! Johnny called me 6-22-15 and said he got 1 tail light in and its $99 for the 1. I told Johnny that isn't right, Johnny then said I can sell it to me for his cost of $70 for 1 light. I need 2 lights and I needed them by 6-24-15, now Johnny has screwed me out of being able to order them from Race Mart and getting them to me on time. What has happened to customer service, professionalism and honesty? I'm so fed up with people telling me what I want to hear (up front) just get me on the hook and then screw me over! Johnny if you really are the manager of Truck Smart then the owner needs to find an honest, professional manager who knows what they are doing or when you F up then own up to it!!! read more
