From the very first meeting, he was the consummate professional. He understood all the ADA requirements of putting in the sidewalk to the City's standards, he was able to talk knowledgeably to the inspector, he coordinated some tree and root work that needed to be done as part of the sidewalk job AND, to top it off, the sidewalks are gorgeous-something I never thought I'd say about sidewalks. If you're looking for real professional and reliable general contractor don't look any further…read more These guys are the best contractors I've worked with so far and will not hesitate to recommend to all my friends. I reached out to them for removing my old concrete all around the house to have it replace by pavers, and have my old backyard sod replaced by turf. My person of contact was Ofir who has been nothing but stellar in explaining the process and keeping me updated of the work progress almost live. Not only he was able to quote me my project at a very fair market price, but the whole job was fully finished within 4 days (from demolition to full installation of the turf). As a result my neighbor and I have contacted NRG Builders and Ofir to now redo our driveway.

The positive reviews are clearly fake, because the company described could not be more different…read morefrom the company I worked with. I hired NRG to redo my pool and pool deck back in October 2020. NRG spectacularly failed the job, and performed with an offensive and abysmal level of professionalism. They subjugated my family to 8 months of obfuscation, evasion of responsibility, endless excuses, gaslighting, and bullying before finally abandoning the job and ghosting us. There is no one to take your calls, answer your emails, or return your messages. They will accept every job, tell you what you want to hear, will write the contract deceptively, take your money, and will inch the project forward every 3-6 weeks only under threat of legal or professional recourse. We were constantly left disillusioned and on edge. Frequently, we were given a schedule, only to have it not adhered to, with no explanation, no call, leaving us for weeks wondering what was happening. Some would call that dishonesty. It's certainly unethical and it upset my family immensely. Their workers left their trash littered throughout the backyard, and defecated in our bushes several times (we would have let them use the bathroom inside had they simply asked). They game you with dishonest slimeball tactics. For one, we showed our initial project manager, Gabriel what we wanted, which we understood to be called large "stamped concrete" slabs. He insisted they were in fact called "very large pavers," and wrote so in the contract. They then promptly destroyed my pool and backyard in October 2020, and did not clean up the rubble until 5 months later, which is absolutely infuriating when you're living in the house and your contractor won't stick to schedule. He then ordered and delivered hundreds of small pavers, which is not what we wanted, not what we agreed to, and much cheaper than the large slabs. NRG then tried to bully us into accepting it, saying they incurred the costs of ordering and delivering them and were operating at a loss. Things went downhill from there as they continued to shirk responsibility and make excuses. After supposedly firing our initial project manager, the president takes our second project manager out for a night of drinking, where he subsequently gets a DUI. The president then comes to my house demanding payment despite being behind schedule and the amended contract specifying progress payments are to be made upon completion of the work. When asked to enumerate the costs, he made up numbers that were contradicted by his own workers right in front of him. We gave him what we understood to be the honest value of his services, all the professionalism notwithstanding, which was 80% of the progress payment, the rest to be provided upon completion. They then disappear on us, leaving us without a pool in the middle of summer, when pool contractors are most in demand. It cost us much more than our agreed contract price to get the job done, and we will now take legal action to recoup the loss resulting from the breach of contract. The incompetence goes right up to the top to the president. He refers to himself as a "man of his word," which is quite a thing to say 8 months in to a 6 week project where he does not respond to calls or emails. Most of the staff at the office is quite nice, and will cover for their bosses, who are always, always "out in the field" or "in a meeting" and can never seem to find the time to call you back. Special exception is "Shawn" in the office, who is a bully. NRG has brought immense anxiety and pain to my family, most especially my aging mother who was set to move into this house. She is an avid swimmer and was excited to enjoy her new pool. Instead, she will miss the entire summer, despite the contract being signed and her old pool being demolished in October of the prior year. Do not work with this company. It's a clown show. You have been warned. Joey, I will see you in court.

He even filled an extra pot hole for us for the delay. :) He supplied me with photos of the completed project and was professional throughout. !!! BE AWARE !!! Please be VERY CAREFUL in using this company's service as Frank Aragon has left…read moreour property in worse shape than when the project began. This is a review based on our experience with Frank and his company earlier this year. At first, Frank came across like he seem to know the 'lingo' of asphalt contracting. After vetting through other companies, we decided to go with Asphalt Paving Services but just as others mentioned here, Frank was very difficult to get in contact over the phone. It was after couple of voicemails and email exchanges later that we finally agreed on a contract and work began in late January. Unfortunately, we discovered (too late) that his promises were just words. Frank was incapable of fulfilling the project as contracted. Pictures speak louder than words and as you can see the poor work on the property sustained during this construction. The project was slated for 2 days with 1 day extra for 'drying' time. But the first day started with just Frank and another worker, then soon after Frank disappeared for hours, leaving one guy to do most of the work. We have a 50+ unit and scheduling all the resident parking to require many parts to coordinate - from LADOT, LAPD, and local council office - not to mention all the residents who had to park on the street. At the end of the 5th day, when it was clear that the parking lot was never going to be finished, Frank was asked to leave the property at around 10PM. On most nights, he kept working extremely late into the evening, even up until almost 11PM, even after we had asked him to stop working. We've asked numerous times for Frank to communicate with us about the timing of the project because we were scrambling to contact the LADOT, LAPD and the council's office for the extra days where we would have needed permit for the residents to park overnight. In short, this project became a nightmare for our management. Everything they did for this project of 20,000+ sq foot was done MANUALLY. There were no rollers on-site, his striper machine exploded and was not working, half the day trying to fix it. (SEE PHOTOS) When Frank over-purchased a mass quantity of asphalt on the second day, he failed to use it within the time when it was heated. It had hardened to the point where it was blocking the front part of our parking lot and Frank had two of the workers attempt to remove the mount manually for TWO DAYS! (SEE PHOTOS) After Frank's failed to complete our project and breach of contract in, we had to hire a different asphalt contractor on an URGENT Sunday call, to have the huge mound of the asphalt removed properly. To make matters worse, we found that he videotaped our property - without permission - to use as part of his advertising on Google. It seems Frank spent more time videotaping and talking about what to do rather than actually doing the work on-site. (SEE PHOTOS) [Frank Aragon: Please REMOVE any PHOTOS/VIDEOS you've POSTED ILLEGALLY of our property on Google and your website that you have it online still. You have not - and were not be given - any permission to post our property for the use of your advertisement. It is illegal to post any images or videos of private properties online.] --------------------------------------------------------- LOCATION: Asphalt Services is located in Van Nuys and covers other areas in Los Angeles. SERVICE: NOT RECOMMENDED. Difficult communication, multiple times his voicemail would max out, calls would not go through. Frank would leave the site and disappear for multiple hours at a time, leaving just one or two workers to cover a 20,000+ sq. ft parking lot. Frank would give us numerous excuses for why the project schedule is off, promises to pull through but failed to complete. PROS: Frank can sell ice to an Eskimo! CONS: Unfortunately the entire review describes that. PRICE: Price was reasonable and a factor in our decision to use his services.
