The sides are also a little bit unique in the sense that the vegetable sides also have added bacon, which is great to see. I personally love to see hush puppies, which is a very antiquated and rare to find option for food. And they did not disappoint. Overall, I would say from the sampler of the ribs and the chicken were fantastic as well as the pulled pork. The brisket was OK, but did not necessarily stand out. We did try four different barbecue sauces, which were all fantastic. The hush puppies as I stated earlier were absolutely delicious and I would come back just for these. We also got the corn pudding, which was a little bit on the sweeter side, but made and baked fresh just like everything else here. And this was a great alternative to cornbread. To top it all off, the staff here was so super nice, especially the young man at the counter when you first walked in as he also offered up a sample of the corn pudding because I've never heard of corn pudding nor did I ever tried it and this was also my first visit. The teenagers that run the place tell customers that every item is taxed separately and then add surcharges that they claim are taxes. I know I should have just walked out without paying and without pizza, but in my traumatized state I was completely under a state of confusion as to what I should do after four teen boys were upset at me and all but one who claimed that he couldn't hear me walked out of the restaurant. Please people add up your bill and make sure they know that asking everyone to pay extra under a guise of taxes is wrong business standards.
