Pros - Selection- like many bar and grills, a huge menu with no specialization, just simple bar favorites. - Atmosphere- good and fun atmosphere - Prices- prices aren't terrible, fairly typical for a Lafayette bar and grill. Cons - Service- Service overall was very slow, our waitresses was hard to find as she wasn't checking any tables often. Could have been worse, but could have been better. - Food- my meal the CABA (chicken, bacon, lettuce, tomato, avacado) was good but the bun was a bit stale, and could have been fresher. I attend a monthly group dinner here. Legacy is kind enough to accept a reservation for 8-12 of us. Overall it feels like an upscale Applebee's with a full bar selection of craft beer, wine, and liquor. They pride themselves on a huge bourbon selection. The vast menu offers appetizers, sandwiches, burger platters, and dinner entrees of all kinds. The food and service is reliably good. We went here for my mother's bday lunch and had a large party. They put us all together a one long table which we appreciated. They gave us one server and I don't know how she did it but she kept up with all of us and provided great service. The food was good and all of us enjoyed everything we ordered. My spouse, brother and I are big bourbon fans and this is the place to go if that is you as well. What a great selection for good prices. Went as part of a party of six on a Friday night and despite how busy it was, the service was nice. The Santa Fe egg rolls and onion rings were delicious! Potato skins were ok, a bit bland. I ordered a make your own burger with fries, which was really good. Someone at the table asked for no lettuce on their chicken wrap. It came with lettuce and although the server seemed annoyed that they had to take it back, it didn't take long for the correct order to be brought out. No kids were in our party, but other tables had young kids and the restaurant seemed kid friendly. Appreciated the TVs throughout, something to keep in mind when there are games. read more

I like Legacy. Menu is your typical bar food, but it is done well. You can get your chicken grilled if watching your calories and they have good salads too. They lost a star because of our waitress last night. Tori Z did come to our table for drinks as soon as we sat down. Brought our waters and asked if we needed a few minutes. We said yes. She then basically ignored us for about 15 minutes while she stood at the hostess station chatting. She finally moved when she saw her orders being delivered to another table. She checked to be sure they'd gotten the correct orders, chatted a bit, got them more drinks. She finally came back to get our orders. When the food was delivered, she came by quickly to again be sure we'd gotten the correct orders. Didn't see her again until we were ready to pay. I'd wanted another glass of water, but hey, that's not padding the bill so I guess why bother to check, right? Tori's attitude was great for a server. Very pleasant and friendly. But it take more than that to make it a great experience for the customer. Don't leave us sitting waiting for you, come back to see if our food is cooked properly, if we need anything else. Check at least one more time -- maybe we want dessert or an order to go. Anyway, I wouldn't discourage anyone from Legacy Pub. You will get great food here. We came as a big group and everyone left full and happy. We had excellent service by Tori. She brought refills and kept everyone satisfied. Very busy tonight and this place handled it well. I have been to Legacy many times and have always had positive experiences. The menu is huge and they have an impressive selection of whiskey and bourbon. My favorite things on the menu include the onion rings with the honey sauce and the breaded chicken sandwich; however, everything I have tried has been delicious. The salads are a good size with a lot of chicken, the wraps are filled, and the pasta salad is always a hit. Its definitely a place to check out if you're on the south side of Lafayette. read more

My wife and I took our son (and his GF) to Legacy Pub to celebrate his 21st B-day; it was my first thought where to buy dinner and a special drink (incredible bourbon selection). Legacy Pub was able to deliver on several special cases: Vegan menu for one and Gluten sensitive for another (both happy with their choices). I have been several times and have always been able to order a bourbon I have not had before (and some of the best I have ever had). They're very helpful and conscious of food allergies, vegetarians, and vegans! That shows a lot about a restaurant considering most places could care less (especially about food allergies). I did go in a few weeks ago and the bartender that normally fills my to-go orders is very nice. The waitress we had sucked. Waited 20 minutes for a water. It took her forever to do anything. It was a Sunday afternoon so maybe she was hungover from the night before? Who knows? The other waitresses seemed very attentive to their tables though! The sirloin didn't have any flavor and had large globs of fat still attached (it wasn't trimmed at all prior to cooking). My partner ordered the Cajun Chicken Alfredo. Great staff, great service, great food! Especially for vegetarians and vegans! More than just your typical "black bean burger" options too. They have the new Impossible Burger (amazing by the way!) plus vegan cheese and mayo and additional vegan dressings. They also have Gardein chikn tacos with avocado and vegan rice and beans. Those are the two dishes we order all the time! Apparently they have some other vegan options, but we always get the same things when we go :) The staff are very nice and know what options there are for veggies..and they don't make you feel like you're totally weird for not eating meat in Indiana! Their fried pickles and ranch are amazing. They are spears, not chips, and the coating they use is so crunchy and tasty with a little spice. (6/order) Tonight my husband got the chicken Parmesan sandwich with fries. This is his usual, so he obviously loves it. The sandwich comes with lettuce, red onion, and tomato. I had their southern chicken sandwich with chips & salsa. All meals come with fries, but you can substitute it with veggies-chips & salsa-chips-salad-etc. Their salsa is smoky and has a little heat to it. We were so impressed with our visit to Hunter's Pub! We stopped on our way from Wisconsin to Kentucky. It wasn't exactly off the highway but it wasn't too far a detour- definitely worth it. We were super thrilled with the service. I believe our server was Michael. He was knowledgable with the extensive menu and wasn't timid when we asked for his personal recommendations. He was kind and outgoing with our kids which is huge. Food was prompt and accurate. One thing I noticed (that means so much to me as a mom) is that our waiter handed the kids' plates to my husband, not directly to the kids. I loved this! His attention to details was fantastic. I've enjoyed going to Legacy Pub ever since it was Hunter's Pub. I particularly like the variety of foods to choose from including Mexican-influenced, burgers and fries, wraps, and other house favorites. I enjoy the way they season their fries. They've also got house made potato chips which are very tasty. I've always had extremely friendly service and the speed of service is great. I go here pretty regularly for lunch. I feel like the portion sizes are just right for the amount that you pay. One of my favorite things they do is provide a to-go soft drink refill to send you on your way after you've paid your bill. I wish more casual sit-down restaurants would do this. I do not drink alcohol, so I can't necessarily speak to drink selection. read more

Legacy Pub used to be called Hunter's Pub South. After one of the primary owners died unexpectedly, the co-owners took over but couldn't retain the name. So they renamed it Legacy in honor of their partner. The menu is the same - great pub food. On this most recent visit the service has improved and I think it is now entirely non-smoking. There is a patio area that may be smoking, however. I'm not sure. Anyway - it's a nice alternative to Walt's Other Pub which is my usual go-to. Food was better than I expected with such an extensive menu. It was reasonably priced too! Everyone in my group seemed to enjoy their meal. So I would say you can't go wrong with the "Fish'n'Chips," "Grilled Chicken Sandwich," "Jacob's Ladder" (a full-pound hamburger), "Chicken 'n' Chips tossed in their tangy Pub Sauce." I had the "Black Cat," which is a blackened catfish sandwich. It would've been one of the best fish sandwiches, I've ever had if it was less salty. The fish was well-seasoned with crispy edges. I thought I was going to eat it without the bun, but the bun was nicely toasted and was a great compliment to the meal. All sandwiches include fries or chips, but you can also have any other side at an additional cost. That night I chose to have the "vegetable of the day." I was surprised to find out the "Green Beans w/ Bacon" didn't mean canned stuff. Instead they were freshly-sauteed with a sprinkling of crispy bacon. read more
