Not to mention the events they hold are pretty great too. They've got a huge darts following and a bunch of other random events that you're never gonna be bored. Wonderful little bar with all of the old fashioned perks but a very powerful musky smoking smells I had completely forgotten about since most places have adjusted to the current climate. The staff seemed a little disorganized and unsure about drinks but eventually figured out they could make my buddy an Irish Coffee and brought me a tap Angry Orchard, always better than a bottle! The Irish coffee was extremely whiskey heavy without much coffee or other ingredients to balance out the large amount of alcohol. He was unable to drink more than a few sips. I ordered the tachos and discovered them to be very well priced, tasty, well-made, and loaded with all the right toppings - check out the photo! My friend got the mozzarella sticks, similarly well done and easy to put em all down quickly. I have heard good things about this place especially the burgers but have also heard to avoid the wings. It's an old school slightly Western feel with the typical assortment of beer wall decoration and TVs. wish I could recommend especially for the great value and variety on the menu but my nose was twitching by the end of my meal due to the odors. read more

Rookies is a new sports bar on State Road 38 by the Tippecanoe Mall. Inside is roomy and inviting, not cluttered. The bar area is separated from the dining area by a waist high wall. The bar appears to be smoking and the dining are non-smoking, but there is nothing to prevent smoke from wafting through the room. I went here for lunch, there was one other table of patrons, no one was smoking, and it still smelled like smoke. The smoking policy alone will keep me from coming back. There are an ample number of TVs that can be seen from all areas of the bar. For those of you who don't mind smoke, or do smoke, Rookies has a basic pub-style menu of salads, sandwiches, pizzas and wings. I had a catfish sandwich. The filet had a cornmeal breading that was light and crunchy, and can be served on your choice of bread. The tartar sauce appeared to be homemade and it is tasty. Sandwiches come with chips that are thick and crunchy. Fries are extra. I really enjoyed the meal, but I have to knock it down a star for the smoke. Sorry, I don't like smoky bars. read more

Place is cool. The over weight security at the door is a little off putting as it's not a strip club or dance club not sure what that's about. But this is a little bar, didn't try there food, drinks were alright. The TVs are a little blurry or not clear. The bar tenders were starring at me and my friend the whole time in a weird way. Idk just got a weird vibe from this place. They could lighten up a little for sure. read more

I come in here often to watch the games. I've always had very friendly service and amazing wings. They have several selections of sauces to choose from. I like the buffalo and garlic parmesan. Also, for a smoking bar it's actually not bad in there to breathe. I'd recommend Rookies to anyone that likes wings and good service. read more

Been here several times and have never had a problem with service. The staff has always been friendly and attentive. It is a smoking bar but I find it to be well ventilated. The smoke doesn't just hang in the air. On to the food...great burgers. Homemade pretzel buns, homemade potato chips, homemade fries. Pizza and wings are also well done. Really hope this place sticks around for a while. read more

My wife and I have been going to Rookies for a little while now. We have grown to love it. The food is great! It's not junk bar food. Just about everything is fresh. Do the mushrooms. They are lightly hand coated at the time of order. No frozen crap. We are big burger people. It is the best burger on this side of town. Always fresh, cooked to order and lots of choices. It's one of those places when you walk in, they know your name and your beer. We are not smokers, but yes, it is a smoking bar. You will notice at very first, but they do a good job with air handling. read more

This my first visit to Rookies. Would I return? Yes. The Space: Upon entering Rookies, I did notice the lack of a seat yourself sign, but being a bar (primarily) we seated ourselves. We were greeted promptly and in a friendly mannor. The space is very clean, from the seating area to the bar area and even the bathrooms. There is ample seating for a party of nearly any size and all the tables are movable to help accomodate this. The tabels can be moved by you and your party or the staff will gladly do that for you. The layout is also very nice. A halfwall seperates the main bar area from the main dining area and otherwise the floorplan is very open and inviting. Lighting is good and there is enough signage for you know their identity without being gaudy and overly decorated. The acustics are good too, so sound, although loud at times, never reaches a point that you can't hear the person in front of you. The space also has 8 televisions and though you can't hear them there is always something on for the sports fan in your life. The Staff: This is a mixed bag for my first time here. I did notice after quizzing our waitress on the menu that there was a lack of product knowledge. However, my waitress was new so I quizzed a waitress that has been here since the beginning and she was far more knowledgeable but was still missing a few details. This could use some adressing. The friendliness of the staff though is UNMATCHED with someone checking on us every 10 to 15 minutes and in such a way that it did not at all feel intrusive. It really felt caring. The loss of 1 star is due to lack of product knowladge. The Atmosphere: Rookies is warm and inviting, this is due to a pleasant mix of the space and the staff. The customer base, from what I have seen is quite diverse yet easy going. I have not approached any but i do feel that I could easily walk up to any other customer and begin a decent conversation without any trpidation or fear. The age range seems to be very diverse as well. The Food: This is quite possibly Rookies best draw. The portions are ample and enough for nearly anyone. I didn't taste everything, of course, but I know that my meal, the ribeye dinner, was cooked perfectly. Everything else I see appears very apptizing. The ingrediants are very fresh and the taste proves this. It matters not if you visit for lunch or dinner you will not be disappointed by the food or the prices. It is most certianly worth a visit for a great meal at a great price. The Drinks: They have a wide range of brews and a list is available upon request. The offer wine as well. You wont find any rare vintages here, but you will find the mid range staples of the wine world no list is avaiable for the wine selection. The cocktails are all varied in price, based on the level and quality of the alcohol, with wells at $3.00 and it goes from there. Very fair and competitive pricing. The staff can mix most anything you desire. The Verdict: Rookies is a welcomed edition to our community. An edition that everyone should try at least once!! read more

Love rookies, food great! great place!.... just one issue. Went last Friday4/7/2017 and my son paid my bill while he was eating at the bar. Gram was his waiter. and I had a tab and they charged me to. Double paid. UGH!!! Other wise awesome place!!! Will call about double charge read more
