As a college-aged adult in training, it was the place to meet up with friends, share some drinks, and watch Jerry dance on top of the bar. Even now, as a married man in his thirties, living a ten-hour drive away, I make it a goal to enjoy Nine Irish Brothers once per year at the very least. When my childhood best friend of eighteen straight years passed away, this location marked the final stop in the bar crawl that was held in his honor. When another friend had bravely "come out" only to be to rejected by some of his religious friends, Nine Irish was the place where my wife and I were able to sit down with him over some Guinness and goat cheese fritters and show him how much we love him. The food and drinks are fantastic, and the memories are forever. Whether you've lived in Lafayette/West Lafayette all your life, you're new to the area, or you're just passing through, I cannot recommend this pub enough--no matter your age. Gluten free crust is offered for pizza and buns but no such options for apps or wraps. Surprisingly the ahi, burger of the month, their sauces, especially the pesto, are fantastic! Parking can be tricky but there's plenty of street and garage options. I had given up with the trivia allowing cheaters to prosper, perhaps that has been addressed. Rewards program is awkward, unable to check points or browse deals without the app. There are few better outdoor dining spots for people watching and taking in the Purdue vibes however the picnic tables are not so stable or comfortable. Plenty of space inside, private room in the back, massive bar offers literally hundreds of options and most any day can pour nearly any style imaginable; and the staff this fall is well trained and friendly. It's such a great local neighborhood gem and it's really unfortunate to see all the construction that is now surrounding it. The area around here used to be so peaceful. On this last visit, the food portion as usual are very generous unfortunately, they forgot our appetizer, but they remedied and made everything perfect and brought it out and they even comped it for us I consistently enjoy coming here and if you're ever in the area, you must come and visit it is just downright good and delicious and they even update their menu which is fantastic. Only under threat of police intervention did the (bouncer's?) boss return them, and by that point I was really done with this location. I understand, and support, being stringent, but if the people responsible don't actually know what a legitimate ID looks like, then they aren't doing their job right.
