    Tenderloin & fries
    Dan M.

I read some good things about the tenderloin here. I finally got a chance to try it. It was really good, as were the fries. It looks like the top of the bun was burnt, but it didn't taste like it. I liked that the street side windows were open, since it was so nice out. My server, white male w/ gauged ears, was friendly enough but not very attentive. I'll probably give it another time, as this could've just been an exception.

Thankful for Businesses who support our Veteran Community. Not only was the food amazing, the service was great too! ...and don't forget to ask for the special homemade Hot Sauce!!

Amazing duo menu of awesome Tex Mex as well as All American Favorites as well: tacos, burgers, burritos, tenderloins, chimichangas, fish and chips, 10 beers on tap, fill bar, tons of tvs with sports/movies/trivia, and, a great personable staff. Darts, Touch Tunes jukebox box, daily specials, $2 tacos in house after 9pm, and, board games galore. Great place, independently owned, and, some of the best food in Lafayette. PS- make sure to try their house made queso AND their own homemade hot sauce! (Dive Sauce) Cheers!

We were pleasantly surprised by this place. The bartender was awesome and interactive. What was really great was the food. My salad and soup were served and I was blown away.

We love The Dive! We eat there often for dinner and it's great! We finally ate there yesterday for Sunday brunch! Highly recommended! I ordered the Texican chicken and waffle dish and my husband had the B&G's with chorizo sausage gravy! Everything was amazing! Our server, Chris, was friendly and attentive! He also is the bartender and made a great Mimosa pitcher for us! We highly recommend The Dive anytime of the day!

I had the chorizo cheese dip and tenderloin sandwich with Blake's fruit jam off tap! Delicious the atmosphere gives you bar vibes very comfortable where you can unwind and relax. That ranch sauce is very dill pickley which I loved. The service was ok the bartenders are the waitresses so imagine it's difficult to provide A+ service if you have a good amount of tables and the bar to serve.

The food and service were absolutely awesome! Drinks were great. Glad we took the chance to come here!

It's not a dive. It's a "Texas" themed bar where the bartender could not find the Shiner. I imagine at one time it could have been more authentic like, when it was owned by the previous owners. Today, you would be better off with really great Tex Mex from Chuy's just down the street. Yes, Chuy's the chain is a real Tex Mex restaurant. This is a simple yuppy bar, with simple young "bartenders" (3) struggling to look you in the as the run past you to do nothing. If you looking for a simple poser dive bar with canned salsa, rice and beans you'll be just fine. If you're looking for Tex Mex, keep riding.

Was visiting IN for the first time and stopped here to try a pork tenderloin sandwich. Was pretty good for my first try and I enjoyed their spicy Dijon mustard that was served with it. Breading was also just the right amount.

Great dive bar with good bar food and plenty of seating. A little hard to get served when they are busy though.

Ask the Community - Sixth Street Dive

Can you take kids in here to eat?

No. Must be 21. We were really disappointed to find this out after we sat down. We did not see signs anywhere about this either.

Is this a good place to watch football?

Yeah, there are a few televisions. That said, I don't know that I'd go there for a super specific game, but they almost certainly have Colts and Boilermaker games on.

    What is the parking situation?

I believe they had a small lot on one side and then street parking - but it's been a minute.

This controversial mural is the work of The Droops, an Indianapolis-based artist collective who…read morewere commissioned by The Spot to do the piece in 2015. It located on the side of the Spot and overlooks their parking lot. It takes up 2 sections of the bar's side wall. The mural is in great shape but as you can see in the photos, its lower park is obstructed by parked vehicles. It is a collogue of random images that include a guillotine, a beer on a folding chair, a tombstone, a skull, a in a bikini with four eyes holding a beer up, a knife, a clown, a bomb, a trumpet, a cigarette butt, a foot, a face being punched by a fist, a hand holding a knife, and an odd character holding a beer while playing a piano. The mural also depicts a naked woman tied to a tree and male genitalia in between a hotdog bun, which caused quite a site as you can imagine. There were calls by the community to have the offensive piece removed, covered up or fenced off. The change.org petition ended with 20 supporters. At one point the Lafayette police issued a warning that artwork was violation of the city's graffiti ordinance. There was a point during all of this that they used a Mike Pence head (who was governor at the time) to cover the male genitalia. Ultimately, the Spot won and the city decided that the mural was not graffiti and did not meet the criteria for a citation. The mural is standing today. Even though there are a lot of images to digest. The artwork is very nice. This is a provocative piece that definitely generates conversation. You can deiced for yourself what your thoughts on the piece are. Parking to get a closer look at the mural is easy, even though it overlooks a parking lot, the lot is kind of tight. There is however, some free parking pretty close to the mural too. Anyway, as with most murals that I have visited and reviewed, this is not a long stop. I was there less than 5 minutes. So, you may want to consider planning out additional stops at many of the other attractions in the area, or making this stop part of a larger itinerary to maximize your time and trip. There of tons of murals to check out in the immediate area.

Finding your way to the restaurant with all the construction in 2025 sucked though, so be aware of that. There were 7 of us, tired and grumpy from the rainy Purdue Game, rolling in at about 9pm, ready to get some real food for dinner. Fortunately, we were seated right away. We got chatting and enjoyed looking around at the fascinating and delightful pub style decor. The history of the restaurant and its owners is on the back of the menu and is a great and heartwarming read. I ordered the regular size portion of corned beef and cabbage with mashed potatoes and a slice of deliciously dense Irish bread. My bf got a pint of cider and Irish stew with a slice of Irish bread. The table also split an order of pub chips and at the end, a slice of Irish Bailey's cheesecake. The cheesecake is a must get!! My bf paid our bill which was about $40, which is a great price for the large quantity of yummy Irish food we enjoyed. I would love to go back here anytime we are in town.
