    Beer Cheese Burger

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Love the vibe here! The open-door atmosphere leading right out to the patio makes it the perfect spot to hang out.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Food-wise, the beer cheese burger is an absolute must-try--seriously incredible. While my personal beer choices struck out this time around, the overall selection is fantastic with tons of options to try.

My sister-in-law is a student at Purdue and chose to celebrate her birthday at The Tap. The menu is really diverse with wings, burgers, sandwiches, pizza, and tacos. I ordered the Mac and Beer Cheese burger that came with seasoned fries. The burger had a freshly made patty with a brioche bun. Bacon, tomato, red onion, and lettuce came on the burger as well. The mac and beer cheese came grilled on it and seemed to soak up some of the cheese. The one complaint I bad about the burger was that it wasn't cheesy enough. The fries were fantastic! They had some kind of seasoning and went well with the parmesan garlic aioli that came with it. I love sauce and I asked the waitress for a Kickin Bourbon BBQ sauce on the side. That would be the first sauce I put on wings with its sweet but spicy Bourbon kick. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The service was good for a Saturday afternoon and the stools are pretty comfy.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Plus, I love the TVs every where.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I would try the Tap again as the burger was good overall.

Came in last night for dinner, and won't be in a hurry to come back. Pros - [[HIGHLIGHT]]Atmosphere was great with mix of students/staff/faculty.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] - Location was good and despite the parking across the street being blocked due to new high-rise, still a good deal of street parking nearby (not ideal for handicap parking however) - Tap fries were good (good seasoning) but food was room temp when we got it. Cons - Service was SLOW!!! Took 10 minutes to have drink order taken, and another 20 after asking for bill to get it. - Thought I'd try an Indiana bar staple (tenderloin) and it was burnt and tough as leather (almost). Also the bun was not the freshest (didn't taste it anyway). Could have been worse, but for a eh-busy Wednesday night dinner, could have been better. Won't be rushing back, but may try again.

Below average night at The Tap. Server was sweet, but often disappeared completely for long periods of time. They were not busy and had plenty of staff. We never received our actual entrée which were the sliders and to top it all off, my wife was overcharged for her beer and then told that it was the same as the beer one of our friends at our table was drinking and as you can see in the picture they're not even close. And, as others have pointed out this place is about 50% more expensive than it deserves to be.

I know the picture sucks, but the pizza was worse. It was about 5 minutes under cooked. I have no idea how they took it out and thought it was done. Grab a drink here and eat at a Purdue place that is known for good food.

Had a great lunch! Caroline was so attentive and we just kept throwing questions at her. We so appreciated the GREAT service, delicious food (FRIES WERE AMAZING- note: GET THE BEER CHEESE), and beer selection. We have been wanting to try Purple Haze- Abita- and they had it! Thank you! And Caroline ROCKS! Would have sat and drank MUCH MORE beer- but- alas- it's only noon

An odd mix of extremely high prices, some beers are twelve bucks for a tiny glass, a tiny slice of cake is ten, need a basic burger and fries try twenty dollars after tip, and completely mismanaged staff; over fifty visits for trivia we had delightful and appalling waiters every other Tuesday. One of my friends worked here for a couple months and reported the entire setup is run over by no clear direction from too many opinions, it shows. The drunk campus quality wouldn't be surprising or frustrating considering Harry's is just as crazy except for how easy it is to reach fifty on just two basic drinks and a meal. Harry's and Brothers and even Buffalo Wild Wings make The Tap look like smug rich digs however one second changes that with the extremely noisy and audio assaulting indoor atmosphere. It makes for an unusual place to host trivia where we not only have to speak directly into the ears of our group to discuss the questions but also to our waiters when ordering. Seems to be a bunch of management and owners here who only ever discuss what they want for this place through emails because the lack of consistency and oversight is hilarious for a campus hotspot. Any other place especially Town & Gown, Red Seven, AJs, and even Applebees are entirely more enjoyable, consistent, easier on the wallet, and providing a better atmosphere. It is a disappointment because the massive draft selection on tap, burgers of the month are huge winners, and gathering a large group for trivia once a week should be the makings of a local hot hit! But after a year of weekly trivia, seeing the insane prices on basic average food items like the apps, desserts, beers, while getting no consistency, has run over all the fun fantastic outdoor seating, big beer menu, and incredible burgers. The Tap is more like The Crap.

Angus slider with Tap fries and parmesan garlic aioli dipping sauce

A fantastic selection of beer! We have been here several times over the past year and a half and they always have new beers on the menu that they must be rotating through. I think this visit I tried the Dragon's Milk, which is a milk stout, and it was wonderful. Very dark and rich. The food is also good! This angus slider is the best thing I've had from here! Lots of flavors happening all at once, especially if you drizzle a bit of the aioli on the burger...yum! The atmosphere is a lot of fun with the decor and music, but it may be difficult to find a table for more than 6 people, especially if they're busy. Most of the table only sit 4-6 people it looked like. They also have live music here but we haven't been able to make it yet, sounds like a lot of fun though! Great place for beer and burgers with friends after work!

Had lunch here and the food was good. The Smoky Ghost Burger was really good, as was the service. Would recommend and will return.

It was far from the limited menu and "See here is our brewery equipment" place. Researching their website, we were convinced this was the place to be on our "chasin' racin'" weekend. My companion noticed that the clientele was quite diverse. I noted that also. We both agreed it was a sign of a thriving establishment. Autumn was our server and she was a lot of fun. Conversant, knowledgeable of the menu, and attentive, she was just great. One of my sides was a Caesar Salad. It was copious to the point that I could not finish it when it was appropriately brought out ahead of time. As a diabetic, I am concerned about carbs, but the Alaskan Whitefish grabbed me . While my plate was messy, I peeled off the coating and enjoyed the nice tender fish inside. In Tennessee, corn pudding is different than what they brought me, but it was wonderful. Bread pudding of the day was S'mores. I had my fill, brought home the rest and my family loved it. Local history was abundant. The menu held an article on local history and the lobby had many historic photos of local interest. I took many photos of them for remembrance. Chances are I will never return to Kokomo. But if I do go back. This is where I will dine.

The restaurant is a cross between sports bar and family restaurant, we all real liked the atmosphere and service. Now for our reason for being there: the food. We started with the fried jalapeños and fried green tomatoes. Both were delicious. The tomatoes were heavily breaded and cooked soft. A nice crunch. The dips are house made and delicious. We all loved our meals. Excellent brisket. I brought smoked sausage back for my husband. He said they were great (and didn't share with me). The beer was delicious. Are we returning? A hard yes! Worth the trip.
