I ordered the Mac and Beer Cheese burger that came with seasoned fries. The burger had a freshly made patty with a brioche bun. Bacon, tomato, red onion, and lettuce came on the burger as well. The mac and beer cheese came grilled on it and seemed to soak up some of the cheese. The one complaint I bad about the burger was that it wasn't cheesy enough. The fries were fantastic! They had some kind of seasoning and went well with the parmesan garlic aioli that came with it. I love sauce and I asked the waitress for a Kickin Bourbon BBQ sauce on the side. That would be the first sauce I put on wings with its sweet but spicy Bourbon kick. Have been to The Tap a few times in the past. Had a fabulous meal last night, cheese curds and pretzel sticks were the perfect starters. The cheese sauce for the pretzels is outstanding! The Nashville hot chicken sandwich is actually hot which is nice compared to many places. And the beer cheese steak was fantastic, btw get the tots on the side, yum. Wings and Mac and cheese rounded things out. Great drinks and if you want to catch a game they have plenty of TV's everywhere. Nixon was our server, she did an exceptional job. Below average night at The Tap. Server was sweet, but often disappeared completely for long periods of time. They were not busy and had plenty of staff. We never received our actual entrée which were the sliders and to top it all off, my wife was overcharged for her beer and then told that it was the same as the beer one of our friends at our table was drinking and as you can see in the picture they're not even close. This is an issue everywhere with guest drinks, but the selection at The Tap is so large that the bartenders and servers don't know what anything tastes like. This isn't their fault. Maybe a second online menu via a QR code with better drink descriptions would help? The food is overpriced and low quality. Let me start by setting the scene. This location is located on the Purdue campus in West Lafayette. We visited on a Sunday afternoon during the summer when school is out so it was not busy at all. First impression was, why are there kids in here? It clearly states that it's a 21+ establishment, but the table next to us had three underage (tweens) at the table. The food was good, but I don't see myself eating here again as it just doesn't have "the vibe." I love a nice restaurant as much as I love a good dive. This was neither. Have you ever been in a nightclub during daylight hours when everything is lit up and just looks wrong? This felt like I was in a nightclub during daylight hours. Everything in here is black. During the day it just looks blah and dirty with all the black. Considering they weren't busy, it wasn't kept very clean. There was a table with two buckets of water on them and water sloshed around, but no staff around it so I'm not sure why it was sitting there like that. When the table next to us with the tweens left, the busser came and wiped down the table, wiping all of the crumbs onto the seats and floor and leaving them there. The seating is all high tops or bar seating. This isn't somewhere where I could bring my older parents to eat as it would be unsafe for them to eat at a high top and they would be uncomfortable. There are a few booth seats, but they're raised to a height too to meet the height of the high top tables. They need more variety in their seat options as I would have preferred not to be sitting at a high top as well. Overall, the food was good and obviously they have an extensive beer selection, but the place was super drab and a little dirty. I would not return. read more

An odd mix of extremely high prices, some beers are twelve bucks for a tiny glass, a tiny slice of cake is ten, need a basic burger and fries try twenty dollars after tip, and completely mismanaged staff; over fifty visits for trivia we had delightful and appalling waiters every other Tuesday. One of my friends worked here for a couple months and reported the entire setup is run over by no clear direction from too many opinions, it shows. The drunk campus quality wouldn't be surprising or frustrating considering Harry's is just as crazy except for how easy it is to reach fifty on just two basic drinks and a meal. Harry's and Brothers and even Buffalo Wild Wings make The Tap look like smug rich digs however one second changes that with the extremely noisy and audio assaulting indoor atmosphere. It makes for an unusual place to host trivia where we not only have to speak directly into the ears of our group to discuss the questions but also to our waiters when ordering. Seems to be a bunch of management and owners here who only ever discuss what they want for this place through emails because the lack of consistency and oversight is hilarious for a campus hotspot. Any other place especially Town & Gown, Red Seven, AJs, and even Applebees are entirely more enjoyable, consistent, easier on the wallet, and providing a better atmosphere. It is a disappointment because the massive draft selection on tap, burgers of the month are huge winners, and gathering a large group for trivia once a week should be the makings of a local hot hit! But after a year of weekly trivia, seeing the insane prices on basic average food items like the apps, desserts, beers, while getting no consistency, has run over all the fun fantastic outdoor seating, big beer menu, and incredible burgers. A fantastic selection of beer! We have been here several times over the past year and a half and they always have new beers on the menu that they must be rotating through. I think this visit I tried the Dragon's Milk, which is a milk stout, and it was wonderful. Very dark and rich. The food is also good! This angus slider is the best thing I've had from here! Lots of flavors happening all at once, especially if you drizzle a bit of the aioli on the burger...yum! The atmosphere is a lot of fun with the decor and music, but it may be difficult to find a table for more than 6 people, especially if they're busy. It felt particularly bad since a number if tables came in after us and got served. We shared looks with a number of server where we got no replies or help from anyone but just one guy telling us that a server will be with us shortly ( still no server came 15 mins later) they saw us, ignored us and we left without ordering yet no one cared. Sorry for the shallow review here. We visited The Tap after a busy football game. The place is large and well suited for meeting up with others. Seating was self service so you had to be aggressive to seat yourself. On this occasion there was lots of staff to move drinks and food. They did a very good job at keeping the place clean. Our waitress was very friendly and hustled the best she served this large crowd. We did order the pretzel along with some drinks. The pretzel was outstanding. It was large, soft and spiced with salt pieces. The cheese was a bit spicy but delicious! The cheese was smooth and plentiful to dip the large amount of pretzel in. Give this place a try. The apple pie slushie sounded questionable to me but it tasted amazing they definitely got the apple pie flavor into a drink. I visited The Tap during my first night in Indiana. They have an extremely wide variety of beers on tap, and I had the opportunity to try a few. Our server (I think his name was Al) started by taking everyone's orders but after delivering our orders rarely came back. I'm not a big connoisseur of alcohol, so I ordered The Flight to sample four. I was told that one of the ones I wanted, the POGizard, was out. As such, I ordered a Waggle Dance. When it had arrived, the color of my Waggle Dance looked different than two or my friends' Waggle Dance in appearance. I was later told that I was given a different drink than either and was told that the POGizard was in fact available and only given a small shot glass as compensation. In order to get our server back, I had to grab the attention of another server to get our original server. Our table also ordered a variety of snacks to go along our drinks, and the Margarita Pizza was one of them. The pizza was food, but it was lacking the basil that was mentioned on the menu. read more

Pretty recent sports bar that opened up near Purdue's campus. Lots of beer on tap and good variety on the menu. Seat yourself when you walk in. For appetizers we got the cheese curds which came with a really good sauce. For food I got the chicka chicka boom boom wrap with fries. The chicken was marinated really well and the wrap was overall delicious. All the food was good but service was a bit slow, potentially from being short staffed.
