What happened to this once great place? The service is terrible. I sat at the bar to eat and received no napkins or silverware to eat with. I was ignored by the bartender until I was almost done eating. Tonight, the service was even worse. Over 10 minutes our sandwiches sat out "order up". I could see the food sitting there. A cook eventually b it out to us. The well done ordered burger was rare. It is so sad how far this place has crumbled. read more

This is such a neat place! It was a Saturday evening and they told us there would be a wait, so we ordered drinks from the bar and sat outside while we waited on our table. After only about 15 minutes, our table was ready and we were seated. Our server, Julie, was incredibly attentive and made sure our drinks were full the entire evening. Even with every table filled, our food arrived in a timely manner and was absolutely perfect! I always hesitate to order steak from a restaurant because I know I can be very particular, but the ribeye was cooked perfectly... so tender and full of flavor! The owner was hands on and even brought me a small helping of their broccoli salad to try... they use cranberries instead of raisins and it was delicious! Everything was perfect! Love this place and one bad food experience won't keep us from going back but wow this was not up to their standard. Service was great as always...the 3 star is 100% the food quality. Ordered the Chicken Bacon Ranch quesadilla- supposed to be "buffalo" chicken...couldn't tell that at all since the chicken was grilled. The shredded cheese wasn't even melted inside. A lot of people don't say anything when their steak is cooked incorrectly, so my advice is to have the server have the steak cut into when it served to ensure that it's cooked correctly. It gets very busy and no reservations. The drinks are very good. Ribs are excellent and large. Mushroom pasta is very good and I'm picky about pasta. The pork chops with the apple slices are wonderful. I've gone a few times and I m just trying to remember all the things we've ordered. Oh, I forgot the bacon bloody Mary is a must-try. The lemon drop martini also. It's bar food but restaurant quality, not just greasy burgers and fries. Just the fact that I've gone several times should say quite a bit. What a great Restaurant for dinner with friends! Neither my wife or I knew much about restaurants in the Delphi area, so we relied on our friends to suggest a place.  They suggested Brick and Mortar. So, glad they did! I had the Ribs, macaroni and cooked apples and my wife had the Frisky Whiskey Burger and everything was exceptional. The restaurant staff went out of their way to make sure we had an enjoyable time. We have already suggested the restaurant to our daughter who lives 10 miles away. We're looking forward to our return visit. I only have one regret and that was leaving my standard tip of 20% because our server was great and definitely deserved more. read more

I've heard good reviews about this place so a friend and I decided to try it out. The ambience was inviting and comfortable. I ordered the black and blue burger and my friend ordered the frisky whiskey burger. Our burgers were SO good, we had to try each others! Food is good, but business hours are inconsistent. We drive over from Lafayette to help patronize small town Indiana business, and many times they have been closed during regular business hours without explanation (like last night; 8-27-24), so we spend an hour to drive there and back for nothing. They used to be open on Sunday evenings until 8 pm, but have changed their hours from 11 am to 2 pm. What successful business only opens for three (3) hours? Sorry Brick & Mortar Pub. I love the atmosphere in this place. The character of the exposed brick walls makes the restaurant feel unique and charming. I love the booths !!! We were so hungry when we got here, we ordered the soup as soon as we sat down. My husband got the broccoli cheddar and I got the chili. The flavor was REALLY good, but they were given to us luke warm. Hence, the main reason for 4 stars instead of 5. I got a lemon drop cocktail ($7) and it was really good. A rim of sugar around the lemony vodka drink was yummy. My husband got the alfredo with shrimp and side salad. He loved the salad. It was fresh and the lettuce was crispy. The alfredo was good, but not much flavor. In my opinion, it seemed like it would have been better with more real butter and parmesan and maybe some type of spice like pepper or cajun... but that's just me. I got the boneless pork wrapped in bacon covered in sliced apples. It was good but again seemed to lack flavor. The pork seemed to need seasoning. To me, it tasted like they just used salt and pepper and relied on the bacon to provide the rest of the flavor. The meat did have a slight smokiness to it and was perfectly charred on the outside, so that was good. The apples didn't have much flavor either. I was expecting a strong flavor of alcohol since our waitress said they were cooked in amaretto and cinnamon. To me, not much cinnamon flavor either. Maybe the apples had been sitting a while and not made fresh daily ? The parmesan potatoes were just slightly undercooked for my taste and had oil as a coating with the herbs and parmesan. They were just ok. Now to the highlight of the meal: the Mac & Cheese ! Omg... if you come here you MUST get this as a side. Perfectly cheesy with multiple levels of cheese on corkscrew pasta. There was a creamy cheese the pasta was cooked in and THEN they topped it with a melted cheddar cheese. Dang, this was AWESOME ! This place kind of has a big city feel in a small town. Nice, somewhat hip downtown bar less than a block away from the courthouse square. Good atmosphere, I like the way the place is set up. Probably a decent place for a burger and the some of the desserts seem quite interesting. I've been here a few times, mostly for drinks, but did visit recently for dinner. My shrimp dinner was ok, can't say that I was that enthusiastic about it. However I did get a taste of my friends pork chop wrapped in bacon which is something I would definitely order here. Okay I'm in love - we came here and ordered the wings with the house sauce and OMG... the sauce is perfect. Sweet with a slight heat - may have a vinegar base to it. We ended up putting the sauce on our other food (which was also great!) and dipping our fries in it. I think I could create an entire menu just off of the sauce. There are few words to describe this place, but I'll start by fabulous food, great service (thanks Julie!), large portions, ambience and one of the best paces I have eaten in a long time! I had a steak and it was cooked perfectly. Tje started Pin salad had a fantastic balsamic dressing with cranberries, candied pecans and blue cheese. The Parmesan potatoes had a light crisp and seasoned well. The broccoli was not over done and lightly steamed. If you think you are too full for dessert, ignore the feeling. The bread pudding was outstanding along with a brownie that was large enough to feed a table of six. You won't be disappointed. Looked like the usual stuff on the menu but the stuff they brought out was not the usual. Everything looked great and big portions! (wish they had a larger option for wings but it was listed as an app.) Still really good! Waitress was On It! Very attentive and frequently checked back and refreshed drinks, took away plates. Had the Nachos, Loaded Fries and Wings (3 people) Saw the desserts on the board and The waitress sold us! BFB Big Fat Brownie with Vanilla Ice Cream and Oreo Crumbles Drunken Spiced Apple Cheesecake Bread Pudding with Salted Caramel Bourbon Sauce... (the sauce was fantastic and you taste (and see!) the salt granules which added a depth to the flavor that I usually don't see! Well Done Chef!) Four of us decided to try the Brick & Mortar Pub based on the recommendations of family members. They were correct. My wife and I had the "pub" salad and it was excellent. I chose the pork chops with apples and a Side of Mac & Cheese. The pork chops were boneless, wrapped with bacon and covered with cooked apples. Very tasty and moist. The Mac & Cheese was among the best I've ever eaten. My wife ordered a full order of Ribs with the intention of taking some home for lunch the next day. In fact there were enough of these delicious ribs for us to have enough for dinner. All in all, my only criticism is a lack of parking or a "comfortable" place to wait on a table. We went to the brick and Mortar in Delphi. This has been my go to place for the last 2 years until Friday night. We went in around 530pm, 3 of us, and they were busy. My friend and myself were in line for 20 minutes to get our seats, my husband was going to join us to eat. We got seated and after ordering 2 drinks, a different waitress asked if we wanted a appetizer, we said yes and she ordered it, before that even got out our waitress came up to us and said "how much longer until the other person gets here, we are not supposed to seat your party until every person is here." We we're already in the process of ordering , so I asked for the owner, Pete, because I thought that was extremely rude. When he finally made it to our table , looked and said you needed me. I said yes and wanted to let him know how rude the waitress was and he said "that is exactly what I told them to do. "Didn't care that we were in the process of ordering. He asked if we planned on staying "all night" as well. We at this point asked for our bill and he only cares about his bottom line and not his customers. When my husband arrived went to talk to Pete. My husband didn't know what he looked like, so asked for him and was told that he was filling in for the owner, lied right to his face. When you care about the money and not your customers, it will be a loss to your business. I want to let everyone know the type of service you will get from the owner. read more

We loved this place! We stopped by for a quick lunch, and after checking Yelp (of course) for restaurant options, we chose Brick and Mortar. There were some other good looking options in the Delphi Yelp results, but that's just another reason to come back and explore the town. Brick and Mortar is located in Delphi's cute downtown Main Street, and I'm pleased to say that both the atmosphere, service, and food are all excellent. We split a burger and fries and I'm happy to say that the food was amazing! The burger was the perfect medium-rare, with perfectly caramelized onions, and the fries were exactly how I like them--crisp on the outside and piping hot and mealy on the inside. Truly, I can't say enough about how a great burger like Brick and Mortar's can make my day. We went for the first day yesterday after church with family visiting from Hawaii. Service was great and waited a reasonable amount of time for food.
