What a pleasant surprise. Don't let the outside turn you off, the food inside is delicious! My husband and I were driving back to Lafayette from Fort Wayne and found Harry's from Yelp reviews. I got the breaded tenderloin and fries and it was wonderful! My husband got the breaded hot chicken and onion rings and he really enjoyed his meal. We wish we would have known the specials. Don't want to give five stars based on my experiences, but four-and-a-half would be more fair. Harry's is an authentic neighborhood place in what looks to be a former drive-in (as in "Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives," not the movie venue). Arriving just after 5:30 one afternoon, the place was already hopping with only a few empty seats at the bar and in the lounge area. Finding one, I slid in and grabbed the "June Drink Special" menu. My server, Jay, came by quickly and took my drink order: a glass of Pinot Noir - for $2! For the price, it was quite nice: smooth with a medium fullness. Not a thin variety, as Pinots so often are. Perusing the menu, I had to try the "Judy." Named after one of the establishment's co-owners who hails from Boston, it's a tribute to a Philly Cheese Steak. Shaved prime rib, green peppers, onions, and cheese on a large roll, it comes with Kettle chips for $11.99. A little extra salt was all it needed to make me happy. I was at a small table so I didn't get to interact with the other guests, most of whom seemed to know each other. Given its location off the main drag, it makes sense that it's more of a local haunt than a destination popular with out-of-towners. That said, everyone was pleasant enough and being the only non-local did not keep me from going back. Another night, I sat at the bar and enjoyed a $2 Sauvignon Blanc along wit my boneless chicken wings. One of the locals -- who'd noticed me during my previous visit -- said they were trying to clear out some wines they'd overbought but no matter; I was the beneficiary and the $2 wine was just fine, thank you. While I didn't get far down the menu, the extensive selection of "hand-helds," (burgers and other sandwiches), salads and bar bites, offers a lot to be sampled. Haute cuisine it isn't, but good food it definitely is. And reasonably priced; I was out of there for less than $15, plus tip each time. If you're in Wabash, give it a try. read more

I was a tad skeptical walking in as I had never been in town. I was pleasantly shocked when walking in & loved this place. The ambiance is very chill and laid back, the low lighting is perfect for a bar. We ordered decently strong drinks first from a very pleasant waitress & we received very quick service. The food was not the cheapest I've seen but was well worth it. I ordered a jalapeño popper burger but separated the poppers from the burger as it was huge and THE best poppers I've ever had. The fries were 5 stars as well as they were fresh and perfectly salted. The sliders my husband got were simply delicious. My husband said I am hard to please when reviewing new places to eat but was happy to hear I loved it as much as he did. Highly recommend to stop here if you get a chance. The place was busy, which was a good sign. It doesn't look like much from the outside, but the food delivered. The hot pretzel and the pickle mustard to go with it were great. (The cheese that was also served was disappointing, but the mustard made up for it.) I had the hot chicken sliders, which come with pickles and slaw. Came here a few months ago with 3 others. My burger was pink. Like raw pink and I paid for a Bison burger!!! Today the 4 of us tried it again and the 3 of of of us that got the side winder fries were so disappointed, cold,under cooked and not crispy! Got the fried pork "fingers". They weren't even cut. It was just a really bad fried tenderloin that we had to cut in pieces to share. They were under cooked, cold, and didn't have that crispy fried texture. First time we waited forever for even just our drinks. We thought it was just because it was so packed because of an event at the Honey Well. Same thing this time and it wasn't nearly as busy as the previous time! Waited 15 mins for our first drinks. 2 sodas and 2 beers. The table next to us for their drinks and appetizers within 10 mins. Sometimes yelp steers me wrong, but not today! Our party of four thoroughly enjoyed our late lunch. Our server, Dawn (after directing us into the entrance) was hospitable, attentive and friendly. 3 of us had burgers and the other pulled pork. We were all very pleased with our selections! So the outside is a lil unassuming and looks like (no offense) a dive bar, BUT still decided to go in and Thank God, the service was UNMATCHED and the food was KILLER! We walked in just before 9 pm and the kitchen closed at 9. The waitress notified the cook and he stayed open for our order. I ordered the chicken nachos- nice mix of toppings meet and cheese- we'll it maybe could have had a little more cheese( but this is always the case) The jalapeños were spicy and plentiful! Hubby had the fish sandwich- the fish was excellent but the bun was a little lacking. Great service and an excellent beer selection!!! He had Bells hazy, IPA and loved it! Perfect neighborhood bar tucked away in the quaint town of Wabash. My husband and I stopped here when we were passing through and enjoyed some Cajun fries (which were actually sidewinder fries with LOTS of seasoning) and boneless chicken wings. We were vacationing in Wabash trying to figure out where to grab a bite to eat and seen this on Yelp. It was a great location outside of town. Huge bar with plenty of dining space. This place is off the beaten track and we were on our way back from a lake up north in Indiana to Indianapolis. We found this place from Yelp reviews and it did not disappoint. Though the spot is a bit of a dive bar, the food is so good and the staff is so friendly. I would highly recommend it if you are in the area. Pretty solid pub experience - small and quaint with a monstrous beer list featuring your domestic favorites, a wide variety of beer styles, and craft beers from around Indiana. Lots of 3Floyds beers! Overall a great place to throw back some drinks with friends. The interior is small, but a good size for a hopping bar in a small town. Standing room only on must late night weekends. There's nothing special about the inside, but it's cozy and there's a variety of types of seating. The service is pretty good - not perfection, but they're hustling to get everyone taken care of. The food is mostly great - tons of juicy, greasy burgers, good cheesesteaks, an interesting take on a Reuben, and an interesting cut to the fries that I really liked! If unsure and wanting the full experience, get a triple Pastor Brad with an extra side of boom boom sauce for your fries. Legit smoker out back cranking all weekend, too. The one thing to avoid is probably the shrimp po' boy - I didn't try it, but it looked sad and multiple dining companions did not like it at all! This place is a hole-in-one in the wall. Somewhat non-descript exterior leads to your typical, laid-back, small-town bar-like atmosphere but with more character and better atmosphere. The fist thing that stood out was the level of service. It was nearly full when we arrived, it is seat-yourself and we weren't even in our seats 30 seconds, and someone brought us a menu and took our drink order. There is limited seating and when they are busy, the bar area becomes very cramped but not uncomfortably so. We started with the loaded tarter tots which were, hands down, the BEST loaded tater tots I have ever had. Magic is my only explanation as to how they could be so good. The only downside was that there seemed to be only 8-10 in the basket, if that. They're too good to have too few. The bison burger will not disappoint. Cooked perfectly and the bacon was actually crisp! The homemade chips that come with are also excellent. Writing this review is making me hungry for their food again; it's that good. Even as busy as they were, the service from Dannae was great. This place is 45 minutes from home but worth the trip. read more
