The past 7 weeks, I have attempted to find service, which at this time has been none. I have consistently sat at a table in clear view of the bar and have now waited an accumulative of 67 minutes before even being waited on, not crowded, just the bar top. Extended smoke breaks, lack of service and with no exaggeration, an aggravated server who doesn't have time to cook food and says they are the only employee, has led to a horrible business. Being a customer here has now become an inconvenience for the staff at Champs. It is no longer an ideal place to eat, drink or even support. Hoping the owners recognize this issue, customers cannot always be the "problem".

Do not get me wrong, I love their commercials. But not every location is low performing based on my visit to the Muncie, IN store. The signage is excellent off of McGalliard Rd. There are a few entry ways into the lot. My lunch visit started with easy to find parking in Northwest Plaza and a debris free lot. Also the walk up was clear of trash. A friend and I were immediately greeted and seated in a booth. Not a big lunch crowd, but they had business. My table as well as the adjacent area was clean. Our friendly female waitress took drink orders and provided menus. My friend immediately decided on their special Bourbon burger, I chose the chicken sandwich. I slipped off to wash my hands and the restroom was spic and span with proper supplies. Both plates hit the table in around 20 minutes. Everything was correct and hot. My chicken sandwich with bacon was good, fries tasty. My friend loved his burger and raved! We did get a check in and refill on drinks. Our check was presented in a timely manner and cashed out quickly. Total time was around 50 minutes. That was perfect timing around a planned one hour lunch. I may have to give Applebee's a try again, but since I was out of town it will not be the Muncie location. This visit caught me off guard in a good way. I would recommend.

How great can the food be, really? Um, pretty freaking great, actually. I got a fish sandwich, which was a long filet of battered and fried fish, served on an ultra-soft hoagie roll, with a little lettuce and tartar sauce inside. The fish was perfectly crispy on the outside, and flaky and soft on the inside. It's the type of thing that I didn't want to stop eating, because the combination of textures was just perfect. Handhelds are served with a side, and I chose the side Caesar salad. It was an OK Caesar, and it did its job to satisfy my CaeSal craving. It comes with red onions on top, which is a choice. The service here was great. The restaurant has a big bar in the middle, with TVs showing sports. The whole place is surrounded by windows, so you can see out into downtown Muncie.

Karaoke Fantastic delivers just that. Sean Hafer, the DJ, can be found spinning songs every Thursday at Northside Tavern and Sundays at Mainstay. With a collection of over 12,000 songs, its definitely the best karaoke Cincinnati has to offer. I am in awe of the selection of showtunes, including the ENTIRE soundtrack from RENT, not just "Seasons of Love" as one typically finds. Sean makes it possible for me to serenade bar patrons with such numbers as "Take Me or Leave Me," "Out Tonight," or "Another Day." Don't worry, once I finish with RENT, there are songs from pretty much every Broadway musical ever made. And lots of Weird Al Yankovic. All of Sean's songs come neatly arranged in binders. He has plenty to go around, both with listings by song title or by artist. He also has multiple wireless microphones which are great for group numbers, or in my case, songs that encourage me to dance off-stage while crooning. A fun, personable DJ, Sean is always up for singing duets and occasionally buys drinks for his regular singers. Karaoke has always been a blast, but Karaoke Fantastic elevates it to a higher level.
