    Burger with Cole slaw
    Richard P.

The 1925 Pubhouse is located inside downtown Muncie's Courtyard by Marriott. I'm a fan of this Courtyard and stay here any time I'm in the Muncie area. I stayed at the Courtyard two nights in a row during a recent fundraising trip to Muncie. Two nights in a row, I found myself really tired after a long day and decided to stay in-house and eat at 1925 Pubhouse. In most ways, this is your typical "pub" fare with some deviation. There's an extensive bar, burgers, appetizers, handhelds, salads, pastas, a kids menu, and a few more options. 1925 Pubhouse also has a location in Anderson - it does seem there's some menu variation between the two locations. I ordered burgers both times. One night I ordered cole slaw as a side, the other your usual fries. It's worth noting that accessibility is pretty strong here with parking options both across the street and in a lot behind the building. Parking is probably the weakest accessibility feature, though I still consider it good. The hotel itself is a teaching hotel for people with disabilities to enter the competitive workforce and, as such, accessibility is strong with automatic doors, easy options for seating (though there are some high-top seats at the bar), and employees who aren't freaked by disability (you'd be amazed how often I get stared at or weird comments). Both nights, I had good service here. Both nights, activities were going on - the first night, they had live entertainment (a soloist). The second night, trivia was going on. I'd say it was slightly stronger and more present the first night. However, I don't have any complaints for either night. I love the big windows, though downtown Muncie is still a work in progress in terms of having something cool to look at. The atmosphere is comfortable and appealing. I enjoyed just relaxing after a long day of wheeling and it was nice having a quality restaurant in the hotel where I was staying. 1925 Pubhouse offers drinks, catering, specials, and a rewards club. While this may not be the best place in Muncie, it's a wonderful addition to Courtyard and a great place to experience quality food and quality service.

Was given a total of 4 brussel sprouts, an house salad instead of the Ceaser that I ordered and a $23 salmon dish that had no balsamic glaze when I ordered extra...... everything explains itself. At least the salmon was decent.

Lively place. Nice music playing and friendly staff. Each person that I saw greeted me with a smile and a warm welcome. I couldn't decide between the fish and chips, ribeye, or smash burger. I decided I'd have the smash burger with onion rings. The rings in the picture looked like they had a nice batter and super crunchy. The batter wasn't the same as in the picture and they were not as crunchy as I hoped but I ate them all. I couldn't finish all the burger so I took it for a late night snack for the next day. I do want to go back and try other things on the menu.

Food tasted good, service was friendly even while being busy, casual setting and easy to access on a Friday evening being off the beaten path. We will return.

The first time I tried to visit 1925 Pubhouse they were closed due to a power outage on the block. This time they were open. I went in and was seated at the bar because I wanted to get a to-go order and while I was waiting I had a cocktail. The bartender came around as soon as I got there and gave me a menu and gave me some time to take a look. I ordered the Pineapple Upsidedown Caketini for my cocktail, it was a blend of Malibu rum, Absolut vanilla vodka, pineapple juice and grenadine. I really liked this sweet cocktail. I placed an order for two tenderloins and an order of wings to go. While I waited they also had Bloody Mary's as the special for $5 so I ordered one a little spicy and I really liked it. The bartender was great and she made sure I had everything I needed before leaving with my to-go order. The food was good I will say that the tenderloin could have fried a little longer as it was very pale and so were the wings. Overall it was a good experience and I will stop packing again when I am in Muncie.

Great burgers! Meat cooked well and properly seasoned. All three of the different burgers we tried were outstanding. Side house salad was actually big and so very delish. Loved it! Eggs, radishes, croutons- yum! Drinks were awesome. Craft cocktails would be all I need... but I should be getting room at the courtyard for the night then. Our server was super nice- they were busy but our wait wasn't very long- the bar area turned over quickly- we could have even eaten there but chose to get a table. Bartenders were amazing too. Pleasantly pleased with our experience.

Looking for a different place in Muncie to eat while visiting my mom - we went online and ordered from the 1925 Pubhouse. (It's attached to the Marriott that's right downtown) Mom ordered the Mile High Carrot cake (eat dessert first!) and 10 piece boneless wing with ranch... I ordered the large house salad with salmon. Everything was fresh and tasty.. The salad was HUGE!! And Crisp And Fresh! And we divided it in half and there was still enough left for a third portion... My salmon was cooked great -- and mom said the boneless wings were fine... I think we found a new place to eat!

Fire Cracker Shrimp: (2.75/5) Decent, not enough sauce. Lacked in flavor, not a high heat tolerance but said it definitely needed more of a kick. Fried Chicken Sandwich: (3/5) Better than anticipated. Chips were the star of the meal in my opinion @ a whopping 4/5. Big Island Burger: (3/5) Burger was fine, left not hungry. Nothing to write home about. Could come back, could not, wouldn't be too upset either way.

I had way higher expectations for this place. Especially because of the prices, location with this hotel, and word of mouth. The food was.... Below average. The fried foods tasted funky (probably old oil). And the fired fish was gooey inside (like uncooked batter). I did not enjoy the onion rings - again weird taste. Service was fine. Ambiance was quiet. Not many people were there and we were seated immediately.

Our party of four ordered four different drinks - and then everyone so much loved their choice, we all reordered the exact same drink for round two. I'd give the bar list and bartender 5 stars. We sampled 3 different flatbreads. Two of them lacked flavor, one was not crispy, but very undercooked. I've seen this complaint more than a few times in reviews so it seems like something they'd address. Snack mix was good. Crostini delicious. Salad nice - although one small piece of avocado on what was billed as an avocado and blackberry salad was a disappointment. I'd rate the food 3 stars. Overall we enjoyed the vibe, the drinks and the mellow live music.

No, it's RoHo's, as in the first two letters of the owners' names: Rogers and Howell. Clever! When I visited RoHo's, the place was hopping. It was comedy night, and I could barely find a seat. I ended up sitting on a couch with three women I didn't know, but they were people who were beautiful and amazing, and did amazing things in the community. I lucked out! The service here is so efficient and friendly. Despite the crush of people, I managed to get my French 77 quickly. It was well balanced and very tasty, and made me feel so much better about being surrounded by strangers. Mostly, though, RoHo's specializes in martinis. The entrance to RoHo's is unassuming, so you might miss it if you're not looking sharp. So, look sharp!

As our weekend wound down, we all decided we wanted to go out for a special dinner. The suggestion came to check out Ron Lahody's Trust Your Butcher Steakhouse. It's about four blocks, easily within walking distance for most and with street parking around for those not able to walk that distance, from the Courtyard and I have to admit I was in for something a bit more premium. Lahody grew up around the meat business, though entered it a bit later after some time in the Marines, graduating from Ball State, working in the family business, and then spending 22 years in home remodeling. Finally, he opened Lahody meats in 2008 and then years later made it to the actual steakhouse business. Lahody still owns Lahody Meats in Muncie, recently opened a steakhouse in Anderson, and yet this spot is the original. As a wheelchair user, I was definitely looking for something wheelchair friendly. Downtown Muncie tends to be older and you can never be certain. I'd gone wheeling around the area the day before and was pretty sure this would be safe. We made our reservation for the end of our work day and then headed over to the steakhouse. I instantly fell in love with the place. It's intimate yet finely decorated. It has the traditional steakhouse vibe with a wood, warm environment, a nicely done bar area, and a couple spots that were clearly made for accessibility. We were placed in one of those booth/tables - small yet nicely sized and none of us ever felt over-cramped. I sat at the end of the booth while my friends took the inside seats. Our server, whose name I have unfortunately forgotten, was wonderful from beginning to end. The young woman was very friendly and helpful. Service was nicely paced, attentive, and never intrusive. It's worth noting that while you can eat somewhat modestly here, and they do have specials, this really is a higher-end steakhouse designed for premium dining. We ordered a couple appetizers at $15 each - candied bacon and green tomatoes. I had never tried candied bacon and kind of fell in love with it. My two peers enjoyed the green tomatoes. My peers enjoyed alcohol, a couple brews each with a solid variety available, and I enjoyed my usual unsweetened iced tea. We all ordered steaks, a definite rarity for me. One peer went for filet mignon. Myself and the other for a New York Strip. You get two sides with a steak. I saw they had roasted potatoes, an absolute favorite of mine, and I doubled an order for my two sides. Lahody himself was in-house. He's an older gent, silver-haired yet impeccably dressed. He was introducing himself to customers and sitting at the end of the bar when I left. When he thanked you for coming, the gratitude felt sincere. Service? Top-notch. Accessibility? I didn't visit the restroom, however, everything was accessible and comfortable. The steak? Oh my, I haven't had a steak this good in a long time. It was cooked as ordered and prepared beautifully. The roasted potatoes were nicely seasoned and simply sublime. This was a definite splurge for me, however, as we were celebrating finishing up a non-profit film it felt like a beautiful way to celebrate with friends in an environment where I felt welcome. There's no question I'll return.
