We have been here a few times and every time has been absolutely amazing. The staff is always friendly, the food comes quick, and the prices are reasonable for the portion sizes. They have the best chicken in town. I have placed to go orders and dined in, always great service. Every item we've ordered has always been delicious. I highly recommend the family meals. I eat here a lot. The food is plentiful and very, very tasteful. I just love everything that I have tasted on their menu. The servers are fast, friendly and very polite. The home cooking taste and atmosphere are a tribute to Good Ole' Muncie, IN. I absolutely love Riverside Cafe and highly recommend this restaurant. On Sundays, right after church services, please use common sense and "EXPECT TO WAIT" a few extra minutes and remember, you just came from church. Eat Well!! read more

The Club House sandwich and Mac & Cheese was so great. Also, the side salad was very great with the ranch. The service was good with the waitress being nice to me. The ambiance was not so busy and clean. I personally recommend this place if your in Muncie! read more

Riverside Cafe has the feel of an old time coffee shop. But it's good sized. Has the sweetest waitresses/waiters working there, all very versed in good service. Pretty much looks like the previous restaurant inside and still using their menus with an insert highlighting some "possibilities of new menu items". We ordered a philly made with roast beef off the new items and a breaded pork tenderloin off the old. (Knowing what a horrible tenderloin the previous restaurant served I'm taking one for the team). The Philly came with a side, she ordered peas and as an upcharge a side salad. The salad came out first, generous, fresh with dressing on the side. Shortly thereafter the remainder of our order arrived at our table. The philly was good, the meat was tender and the cheese was proportional, the peppers onions and mushrooms in the sandwich were perfect. Peas are canned peas kinda mushy and nothing to write home about. The tenderloin sandwich was delicious, great flavor. Done proper and not a fritter. I would recommend giving them a try. We are both pleasantly fed and spent less than $20.00 read more

We stumbled across Riverside Cafe after delivering someone else's food to them on evening. Today we made the trip to try it out ourselves. Don't let the seemingly small menu fool you, they have TONS of food options for Breakfast (served all day), lunch, and dinner. Today we decided against breakfast but will be returning soon to try that. We walked in and read a small sign that said to grab a menu and pick a seat. They were busy, but there were open spots and people cleaning to ensure there were more spots available. Our waitress (Liz) greater us very quickly. She was great! Gave ample time for us to look at the menu, never let our glasses be empty, and never stopped moving the whole time we were here. Thank you for being an awesome waitress Liz! I ordered Chicken Tenders (it comes with 4), French fries, and Mac and cheese. These chicken "tender" were HUGE! They had great flavor and were very filling. The French fries were nothing special but they were hot and crispy, and the Mac and cheese has a great flavor. I would definitely order this meal again. Make sure you get a box, I ended up taking three full tenders home. We also go an Open Face Roastbeef, which was similar to a Beef Manhattan. We added a double order of mashed potatoes to the center to make it more like a beef manhattan. This was awesome! Great flavor! Huge portion size, and we loved that it was made with shredded roast beef instead of big slices. Each of our meals came with the option of soup or salad, we both went with Soup and ended up getting Beefy Veggie Soup. The soup was definitely homemade and had great flavor! I cannot wait to try more items from here. Nothing that we had today was less than great. read more

Not sure when Bruner's Closed.. but today as we have for many years made the trip from Anderson after church for some of the best tasting broasted chicken around central Indiana.. was shocked to see they had closed. We were seated and placed order at 12:30.. at 1:00 we got our drinks, 1:10 salads , followed by chicken at 1:25.. The odd part about the chicken was my two legs were of Broasted Style but very dry.. the breast was not the same broasted style and actually was very similar to food service fried chicken from USFoods/GFS .. Guess great family restaurants are closing as owners retire.. Food from Swiss steak to broasted chicken not worth the trip any longer read more

This place reminds me of an old school diner, with a local friendly touch. Wait staff was on it, kept the coffee full and made sure we had everything we needed. we ordered biscuit's and gravy with hash browns. The gravy had very little taste! The biscuits were rather soft and not completely baked The hash browns were cold and dry. No evidence of being fried or baked...just served in a To Go container. we got this order to go and when we got home..which only took a few minutes. I tried to fry the hash brown and heat up the thick tasteless gravy..added butter and salt in hopes of giving it "life" to no avail! Ate here 3 or 4 times before Covid. When they reopened we got carry-out. First time was great, food was good, order was correct. 2nd time totally messed up. Called them and they said they'd make it right. Went back today and other than 1 slightly rude waitress (Maybe having a bad day) they were good to their word. Meal was correct, good and on the house. We will go back for carry-out and eventually use of the Dinning room. read more

I ate at Riverside cafe today cornbread and beans. Beans were cold and canned the cornbread was black burned on top and bottom. This is a shame we have been eating there weekly and like the servers. Fried potatoes had black bits from the grill all through them. Just nasty! read more
