Food was delicious, warm, and fresh. Service was welcoming, prompt, and small town neighborhood comfortable. The cafe is bright and cheerful. The Toast is a local gem.

My new favorite breakfast place! Can't wait to try lunch here too! I had the biscuit French toast. Amazing! Never thought to make French toast from biscuits. Large portions, good coffee, diner experience mixed with glam, and great service. Well done! Side note: and there is good parking, outside seating when the weather is nice, great photo backgrounds.

What a GEM! This place has figured out a way to keep the Nostalgia of the original Toast Cafe with major upgrades!!! Open 7-3, 7 days a week, this is truly a gem in downtown Anderson. They are a scratch kitchen, making and baking everything fresh!! The food was fantastic. Home made cinnamon rolls, and biscuits and gravy. Recommend sharing as the biscuits are about as big as your face, hahah!!! So good. Friendly staff. Adorable decor. This place is a win win and I can declare it is one of my new favorite places:)

This is a MUST go to! I've been twice... once before the remodel and once after. Let me tell you, both were great but this place as it is today is phenomenal. The food is excellent, the service is top notch, and the atmosphere is outstanding! It's old school diner with new age feels. It is everything! You can sit at tables, booths or at the bar. Quaint, cute, lovely and amazing food.

I am a regular at the Toast and I love it! The entire staff is extremely friendly and accommodating. The food is similar to that of the old Toast but so much better! The owner, Darla Sallee has hit on the perfect combination of food, choices,, ambience, and excellent staff.

Great breakfast but lazy service. Never asked if we wanted coffee refills or how our food was.

I got iced tea and it wasn't the best or the worst, I'd probably get a Coke next time. I saw them bringing out a lot of wraps to the party they were serving and since it was like 107 degrees with the heat index Mom and I decided to get the fried chicken bacon ranch wrap with onion rings. They claimed on the menu the chicken was hand breaded but I'm not sure about that. The wrap was huge and also 95% lettuce which was obviously from a bag and had a funny bagged lettuce taste. There was the smallest sprinkling of cheese, bacon and tiny chicken tender pieces. They didn't put much ranch on the wrap so that made it dryer. Luckily we asked for extra when we ordered because we like to dip our onion rings in ranch too. We really liked the onion rings. I would have said something about the wraps but our server had that large party so we didn't see her again until the end of our meal. The view was beautiful and they do offer cocktails. They have a nice outdoor covered patio with ceiling fans but Mom said it was too hot even with the fans and since she's nearly 84 I wanted her to be comfortable. We will definitely go back again but I will try something different or leave off the lettuce if I do get a wrap.

I personally enjoyed a favorite of mine, a buffalo chicken wrap which was full of delicious flavors and ingredients. When I tried order off the menu to see if I could get a trout and steak combo, my server tried very hard to make this happen, but gave up. She could have asked a manager, but it was not important enough for me to pursue the matter. But, she was very sweet and was very helprul the rest of the time. Pittsburgh Rare steak preparation involves charring the exterior on a very hot flat-top and serving it rare. What I got was not this, as I could immediately tell by the fact that it had noticeable grill marks. They just cooked as usual for a rare order. With a NY Strip steak, you expect some connective tissue, but not this much. It was hidden also in the muscle of the steak. I had trouble hiding all the half chewed offal on my plate. Neither did it have a great beef flavor. This summary from the internet agrees with my idea of rice pilaf, "Pilaf is a rice dish where grains are toasted in oil or butter with aromatics like onion and garlic before being simmered in seasoned broth, resulting in fluffy, separate grains." What I was served was nothing like this as I got buttered rice that clumped together. No effort was employed in plating for appearance. I got a steak on a plate and a silver colored boat on which the rice was piled. The Cole slaw served as a salad was very good. The beer was cold and as expected.

At $9-10 each why not! Blueberry Lemon Drop was good, but the Watermelon was my favorite. We also tried the caramel apple and it was good too. What I loved about the onion rings was the super thick and crunchy beer batter. We also got some sort or chicken bowl that was a lot of food. Came with chips. That's not my particular thing but the person who ordered it loved it. They make all their own dressings and believe me when I tell you the spicy ranch is spicy. I loaded my onion ring up with that ranch and I thought I was going to pass out it was so hot. I still ate it just not as much at one of time.
