The food is delicious, the staff are nice. The restaurant is clean and homey. They just raised the prices on some of their items, but overall still a decent value. Take cash to pay with because you get charged a fee for using a credit card which is ridiculous. Please get gluten free pancake mix back in stock, Stacks for us gluten free pancake lovers. read more

Auston is our new fav server!! He provided us with exceptional and friendly service! Very kind and attentive young man! I love the way he talks! I overheard him saying it was the remnants of a speech impediment.. more like a speech blessing! I could listen to him talk all day! Thanks again for the excellent and friendly service buddy! Will return and hope you're our server again! read more

We stopped here on our way to KCMO for a concert. It's a bit off 70W but it was well worth it. The staff was super friendly & attentive. Very clean place & HUGE!! Our food came out super fast and hot. Definitely made to order. Even if this place is about 5 miles off I70W it's worth checking out. Prices are uber reasonable read more

All I could taste was dirty grease on my burger today. The bun had soaked it up i guess. The bacon wasn't crispy and the BBQ sauce had no flavor. There was no baklava, nor any dessert. The FILTHY couch in the foyer is a BAD first impression that makes me wonder if the restaurant is clean at all. The bathroom is always dirty too, as are the entrance and bathroom doors. No where to sit to wait in main room: with increasingly elderly population you should have chairs available in the gift shop room. Prices are high (last gyro I had had like 1 piece of meat and the last steak n eggs I had, the steak was grey and like shoe leather). There's no online menu. Nothing vegetarian either. Plus you use the environmentally detrimental Styrofoam. read more

Everything Iv tried has been good , service is good and it's nice that they are on door dash. Home fries are great! To me the eggs don't really have any taste, only thing Iv had there that I don't really like. Pancakes are amazing Sirloin is great and reasonably priced read more

Food...can all the way, service was so slow. Will not go back for the price you will not get fulll.......

Very friendly and tasty breakfast! Excellent prices and portions. Plenty of seating but didn't feel crowded.

We are always treated well there. The food is very good and the place is clean. We never have to wait long to be seated or served. Has become one of our favorite places to eat. read more

This has become my favorite breakfast spot. The food is always hot, the waitresses are so polite and the portion sizes are huge! Plan on splitting a meal with someone or taking half of your meal home. When you get the omelette you get a choice of grits, fried apples, pancakes or toast. It's way too much food for me. But so happy that I have this is an option and they have such a great variety of food. I love the chelate chip pancakes with fruit as well. Awesome breakfast stop in New Castle! read more

The French toast was good! The number 6 breakfast special with the B&g was nasty and ate six bites of it and sent it back the manager gave us 20% off so what I'm saying is never eat there because the main none simple food is gross and from a can. Beware it's nasty there! read more

We waited for a while to be greeted by a server. Then almost 10 min to get our drinks. Server took our cups for refills but never came back with refills. At 30 min we still don't have our food and it's not busy This has happened the last 3 times we have been in here. Slow service and slow getting our food. read more

Timing is everything! Got here before the BIG rush. Thought it was a pretty long wait to get in, but saw what it was like on our way out... Food was REALLY good! I ordered Papaw's Favorite and every part of it was good. Hubs enjoyed his (whatever THAT was...), and I got a Cinnamon Roll Cold Brew (1/2 the flavoring) from the Neo coffee bar in the entrance (eyes roll into the back of the head). GREAT breakfast place! read more

Good food not long of a wait and had clean restaurant, always ordered out but I would gladly eat here anyday.

I came here on Saturday late morning for breakfast but unfortunately we didn't get to try the food. After standing in line for 15 mins and no one advising us on the wait time, we decided to leave as only 1 couple had been seated in that time. I peeked into the dining area and it was clean and the servers were hustling but they appeared understaffed. The lobby has kids games, candy, coffee and other items to spontaneously purchase while standing in line. When I return to the area, I will try again but during the week. read more

Stacks has recently renovated the entire place _ it looks great! There is now a Cafe Neo coffee bar inside serving coffee & espresso drinks. You can order to go or to drink when you are dining at Stacks. You can also order online to pick up. Their Freddo Espresso & Freddo Cappuccino & Lattes are great! As far as the restaurant, I've only had lunch and dessert here and it's been great both times. They have a fantastic combo of Greek and American options. The Gyro and Baklava are amazing though if you want to try some authentic Greek fare. read more

We stopped in for dinner and it was wondeful. I ordered the Gyro sandwich and was not disappointed! My hubby ordered the country fried steak and my son ordered the kid's pancakes with bacon. All our food was delicious! Our waitress was pleasant and our food was prompt. We got there just before the Friday night crowd but there is plenty of seating in their newer renovated space. There's a good mix of booths and tables. It was a nice experience and held up to all the people that have recommended it to us. We would definitely come back if we're in the area. read more

This restaurant is mainly known for their breakfast items, but they also have a very extensive menu for lunch and dinner. I have mixed reviews of this restaurant because I have been here many times and have had both good and bad experiences. The food is pretty decent. It is what you would typically expect from a typical restaurant. So far I have not found anything that has surprised me. The one thing I do not like is there are certain breakfast meals that you cannot exchange sides on. For example, I do not like grits. There are certain meals that come with grits and most places will substitute hash browns in place of the grits; this restaurant will not allow you to substitute. I was even willing to pay an up charge, but I was told that that is not allowed. One of the lunch/dinner options that I personally like at this restaurant are the gyros, if they still have them on the menu. We will sometimes go to this restaurant if other restaurants are not open, but it is not when I go to on a regular basis. As far as recommending this location, I am neither here nor there on my recommendation. I feel like the food and service were better when they were at the old location, even though it was a much smaller building. read more

Been here twice, sits back from main road. Large area for seating. Ordered chicken salad on a croissant. You could also have it in a wrap, on a tomato slice or pineapple. I also had cottage cheese and seasonal fruit as part of the platter. The croissant was toasted, a nice touch. The fruit was a generous portion, slices of honeydew, cantelope, watermelon, pineapple, strawberries and bananas. I was a great meal. I had a slice of blueberry pie, it's made somewhere else. It was a dollar a slice, hard to go wrong there. I was catching up with a friend so stayed a couple of hours and was never rushed. read more

We stopped here for brunch around 10-10:30am. At the time there were just a few people there, that was not the case when we left. The amount of stuff that comes with your meal is crazy! I'm not complaining, it was wonderful! My son-in-law had The chicken fried steak breakfast with eggs, grits, hash browns, double bacon, toast and coffee. My daughter had the country classic with eggs & bacon, pancakes, hash browns and fried apples. I had eggs over easy, French toast, bacon and sausage, plus fried apples. The total of all three meals was less than $40!!! Vickie was our excellent, friendly, and very "on top of things" waitress. I wish I'd taken pictures of our huge plates of food. I want to go back for dinner. Not today though, I'm too full from breakfast! read more

Clean, Great service. We have always had great food. Their soups are excellent and think people often miss them. Our favorite is the cabbage soup on Thursday. Some of the waitresses have worked there a long time and really know the menu. So nice to go in and be greeted with a smile. read more

Solid diner food with generous portion sizes. I wanted breakfast for lunch, and that's just what I got...a veggie omelet with grits, wheat toast and coffee. My omelet was just a tad over cooked for my liking, but still good. The grits were creamy and hot (butter on the side), and toast was toast. Can't really screw that up, right? All in all, it hit the spot and I had leftovers for the next AM, as well. Mary, my waitress was efficient and friendly as well as the manager who cashed me out. He talked me into a slice of pumpkin cheesecake to go, and although I doubt it was made in house it had a good flavor and consistency. Not too much spice, just enough. Stacks is worth your while for a good ol' fashioned diner-style meal. read more

The service is amazing! In terms of New Castle places to eat, Stacks is rather expensive. They do have a variety of menu items though, and they do serve breakfast all day. Additionally, I would not recommend coming on a Sunday after church. It is extremely busy, and there is often a long line to be seated. It is very nice and clean here though, and the waiters and waitresses are always extremely kind and accommodating. I have never met someone who worked here who I wasn't super impressed with. read more

Awesome food and great service. Highly recommend this place... They serve breakfast all day long.

Great place to eat locally owned and very friendly service and great home cooked meals.

Good food, good service, good cooks. Really nice dining area. I like that it is Greek owned and operated.

We were in New Castle for a Wedding, spent the night and decided when we got up the morning after we would try a local restaurant for brunch.. Read the reviews on Yelp and decided to give Stacks a try. The place is very clean, seating is terrific and service was good as well. Our only complaint (not really complaining) was the food seemed a little on the 'bland' side for taste. French toast was cooked perfectly but seemed to lack any vanilla or cinnamon being added to the coating. Portions were just right! We definitely try it again when in town. Worth visit! read more

Seeking a breakfast or brunch spot in New Castle? This is it! Stacks Pancake House offered literally every breakfast combo your stomach could desire. Mind you, the portion sizes are huge so I would consider splitting a few of their items. (Pancakes - they make them quite large. Not complaining; just stating the facts!) The ambiance of the restaurant is a little meh. When I think of breakfast places, I think of that cozy feeling when you scoot into a booth and slowly sip on your cup of coffee. But that's just me. Stacks was very much an open area restaurant, but it still did the trick. read more

First thought on returning after the Covid shutdown and Stack's interior renovation is: "don't forget who brung ya to the dance". Old saying, but it means a lot and applies to the "new and apparent improved" Stack's. Upon entering the entire restaurant has a new very modern update. Bold red & black interior with vinyl wood floors. It would sell well in a large city, but not the cozy hometown feel Stack's once had of the family diner. I specifically decided to eat at Stack's because I was hungry for their French Onion Soup that was a standard on their old menu. I learned the new post lockdown abbreviated menu no longer has my favorite soup. I understand survival for restaurants in this day and age, but I was still quite disappointed. My dad ordered the full Sausage Biscuit & Gravy entree'. It came out on new triangular upscale plates for the new upscale theme they are going for. The new genre' would be fine IF the portions were still the same generous size they once were and as good. My dad's 3 biscuits were not served open face smothered in gravy, but instead whole with gravy on top of each whole biscuit. He immediately questioned why and I knew it was a cost per serving decision. To pay for the updated plate they are not serving open face biscuits to scale back on the quantity of gravy required. My dad asked after eating one biscuit and using all the extra gravy aside the whole biscuits if he could get some more gravy to eat open face. He got the gravy (not sausage like his original order, but plain white) and also got charged for a side of gravy. Not good business for repeat old time customers. I had a Greek salad which was very good with lot's of Feta and Kalamata olives. However for the $9:?? something it would have been nice to have a warm pita with it, or at least crackers. Our server was polite and efficient no complaint with service at all. The new back wall boasted of all their properties including the new Coffee House division and a new Chop House. I am guessing the younger generation now running the business see a new high end focus, which is fine and I wish them well. However, if you want to keep the small town of NC that supported the family diner that started in the old Hardee's, and grew accustom to the family of owners greeting every customer and making sure all are satisfied the vision may need re-thinking. My family loved Stack's and ate there frequently for years because of the good food and the great personal attention with the hometown feel. Now, the portions are smaller, the prices are higher and gone is that intimate diner feel. Could be brand new customers will love the changes and new direction to appeal to the high end. As for some of the long time customers like my family, we will remember the old days of Stack's fondly and turn to other area family diner's. read more

Yummy! Great service, Clean dining room restrooms were spotless. We came in for lunch and I ordered breakfast my business partner ordered lunch food. Country fried steak - tender meaty goodness covered with creamy gravy, eggs perfectly scrambled with cheese and white toast buttered. It was great our waitress didn't hover over us and she still managed to keep our coffee cups full. They had about 12 tables with patrons when we walked in but it was still quiet enough to have a quick lunch meeting. I will definitely be back the next time I am in New Castle there are so many menu items that I still want to try. As for my partners food, all I can say is he finished his plate before me and then ordered pie. read more

I'm giving 1 star only because the tables and floors were clean and the hostess was friendly. Me and my mom went in for brunch. As we walked in we were seated emedintly and the nice young lady took are drink order and was back in no time the menu has everything you could think of from a breakfast and dinner all day type of food establishment. I ordered cheese sticks and the rodeo burger along with fries. The lady took are order and are food was out in no time the cheese sticks had a crunchy outter shell only down fall was it wasn't as cheesey as id prefer. The rodeo burger was cooked perfectly and dressed nicley with that hot and sweet taste I got from the peppers and onions it was a perfect blend. Witch brings me to the French Fry's they were the cream of the corn persay. They were the absulutly best fries I ever had they had a crunchy taste to them as well as a real potato taste I highly recommend this place for breakfast as well as dinner and me and my family will be coming there plenty more times. read more
