Pleasant seating indoors or outdoors. Good choices of music to listen to while eating. Played at a level that people can still hear each other talk. Food is great. Always fresh and mostly nutritious menu. Waitress or waiter always friendly and attentive. Pricey but delicious and you aren't eating in a fast food atmosphere and you can get your food to go too. Took my lady and my son for a late lunch. I have lived in Muncie my entire life and did not realize this place even existed until today. Apparently, it has been here for a couple of years. It is most definitely off of the beaten path from most restaurants, and or other businesses . I will say that the decor is basic, but neatly done . A very comfortable atmosphere . With those compliments being said, it is now time for the actual and truthful review of the food . Mind you I have cooked in many different styles of restaurants over the years, and I like to think of myself as a pretty good connoisseur of taste, texture and flavor. Starting off, my lady had a basic club sandwich and a small bowl of pea salad . The club sandwich was a basic club with a thick slice of ham and a thick slice of turkey. A couple of very thin slices of bacon, lettuce, and tomato mayonnaise. There again basic club sandwich. The pea salad was basically peas, mayonnaise, and chunks of cheese with no seasoning whatsoever. My son, being 20 years old, and a very healthy stocky young man, who likes a good meal, ordered their chicken sandwich and a side salad. Which turned out to be probably a 4 ounce piece of chicken breast cooked on a flat grill put on a bun and topped with lettuce, tomato and mayonnaise. The side salad was an extremely small bowl of lettuce with a few shreds of carrots and a side cup of ranch dressing. Needless to say, the chicken was not even seasoned bland beyond belief. I am myself having high hopes, ordered the Cuban sandwich and a bowl of potato soup. Let's start with the potato soup. Remember, there was a dollar up charge for a fingers full of cheese, three or four bacon bits and some green onion chives. If you boil some potatoes, put some carrots and celery in them and literally put them in a bowl. That is what this potato soup was no seasoning whatsoever. If they did put any cream or milk in it, you would never know it. It tasted like straight up potato water. And now for the Cuban sandwich, basically take a pork butt put it in a crockpot, cook it until it is dead take a piece of cheese, which I'm going to assume was provolone and one slice of ham and three pickle chips put them in a brioche square bun, and run it through a Panini press for about half of the time required and you will have yourself a very extremely bland and boring Cuban sandwich. Service and staff were adequate nothing special nothing out of the ordinary nothing to complain about. Any type of seasoning, and or understanding of how foods should taste are lacking for better words. And let me tell you none of these sandwiches came with sides like chips or pickles or anything like that no french fries nothing. Everything is served and and or on the old cheap tannish brown cafeteria styled plates and bowls like the ones I used to use back in the 60s and 70s. And all of this came with a very nice final bill of $55 and a very moderate five dollar tip. So for $60 you can feed three people who walk out the door, shaking their heads, looking at each other and asking how and why. I truly wish them the best of luck. They have a nice little establishment, but they really need to learn how to season their food and have a better understanding of what things are supposed to taste like. And set they're pricing at a reasonable rate for what you were receiving I mean seriously $11 per sandwich with no sides six dollars for a bowl of soup which is a very small bowl. More like a cup. Needless to say, first time caller last time visitor. read more

This place is a gem for Muncie. Ill start by saying the women who own the strip mall are focused on making this strip a community market owned and operated by women helping women. The cafe has breakfast, lunch, and brunch options. They occasionally offer a boxed dinner to go. Check their Facebook for specials. We have stopped in the past for breakfast, their breakfast charcuterie boards are fun and trendy. Today we stopped for lunch and had a great experience. No waiting for a table, everything was clean and fresh. Our waitress was friendly and helpful, and gave great suggestions. As someone who has a wheat sensitivity this restaurant is top notch in options and alternatives. We ordered and were served quickly. We had sandwiches and sides, both good. I had not had Cucumbers and onions in a vinegar base, I was expecting creamy. But these were great and light. I will say if you're feeding someone with an extra big appetite this might not be a great stop as the portions are "Cafe style", smaller. But this does leave room for dessert. The day we stopped in there were 4 fresh options not including the cinnamon rolls that looked heavenly. I love the philosophy behind Cafe at the Crossing. The food is fresh and good quality. Hours can be tricky as they aren't open all day and really cater to the breakfast and lunch crowd and are not open Sundays. But....if you get stopped by the train you could bide your time and make this part of your stop! read more

I was so disappointed with Cafe at the Crossing. I ordered the Spinach Salad with chicken. The portion was so small and the salad was very underwhelming. I also got a single piece of chocolate cake which was average. My bill for both items was $28. This cafe is definitely WAY overpriced for the portion and quality. I won't be returning nor would I recommend it as a lunch destination. read more

We were sat at the kids table outside, no one else there but she told us one of the small tables only. Great diet food. Can't make fried eggs, premade bacon, tea tasted like soap. The young lady said if I didn't like something just to pick it out (turkey sausage). Just wasn't my place to complain. When I went to pay I only said something about the Tea tasting like soap and she said I'm sorry and didn't take it off the bill. Left hungry and so disappointed. Nice place but better food anywhere else. read more

Saw this restaurant on google maps and decided to check it out- it's right next the the railroad tracks! Everything is homemade and from high quality ingredients. They also have the best coffee in town hands down! The owner says they opened in June of 2020. I came around 8:30 and was the only one dining in, but several people came in for coffee or pick up orders. Highly recommend, but it's a bit more expensive than other cafes in the Muncie area. read more

This quaint little cafe opened this June, 2020. Everything is homemade and you can tell!! I have only been twice but the food was fabulous both times. The chicken salad croissant...to die for! I am a huge butter fan, the croissant was flaky and buttery, best I have ever had! You can't taste the pineapple in the chicken salad, but it adds sweetness, again fabulous! My daughter had the Turkey BTA and loved it. Dessert? Texas sheet cake! Order early, they run out of this moist delicious sheet cake piled high with creamy chocolate icing. It's a must try! Give yourself plenty of time. They're made from scratch and might be working some serving bugs out. Definitely worth a wait! Outside seating and carry out available. read more

Food was good on the taste spectrum. A smaller portion compared to other local breakfast places. $10 for small slices of french toast and bananas in a paper cup to the side. $7 for avocado toast and $8 for a protein shake where the ice wasn't properly blended. Presentation could improve. We love supporting local and the staff was nice but service was subpar compared to what we read on the google reviews.
