Road trip from south of Indy just to visit New Castle. Park Restaurant has Excellent old school food ! Wife's pan fried chicken breast was crispy outside moist inside, my special of the day chicken livers were tasty and crisp, the plate was full ! Pea salad, potato salad, and Cole slaw were home made as advertised. Reasonably priced for 2026 too. Place was full at 12:30 p but service was good and food came out fast. Overall the menu has a great variety of options. Whether it's breakfast, lunch, or dinner you can always find something you'll like. I got a chicken tender meal with fries and a roll. It was great overall, and I loved the blue raspberry lemonade I had. Everyone in my party of 6 enjoyed their food. The prices were very reasonable as well. Our server was helpful and kind. I was driving from Fishers IN to Hagerstown IN for an afternoon appointment, and I wanted to find a place for lunch along the way. The Park Restaurant in New Castle IN was open and had good reviews. When I pulled up at noon, the parking lot was full, and the restaurant was teaming with customers. A good sign, for sure. A big board in the entrance displayed a very large number daily specials. WOW. I was in a fried chicken mood, and decided to order the chicken leg meal, mashed potatoes/chicken gravy and onion rings. I'd read that the O-rings were good and they did not disappoint. A very large plate with just the right amount of batter. 5 stars. The chicken was just so so with a hint of burnt grease taste. 2 to 3 stars. The mashed potatoes were a bit dry. I kind of wondered if they might be instant. The chicken gravy was excellent. The roll was unheated and nothing special. Not worth eating. The restaurant itself was clean, organized, and very well run. The highlight is the staff. "Top Notch" 5 star. The servers seemed to know everyone and referred to some customers by their name. Park Restaurant is a great place for large groups of people and families. Plenty of seating/seating areas, lot's of meal options, and the food moved quickly and efficiently. I was surprised at how effective the kitchen/servers worked together given the large number of customers being served and all the available menu options. Not on the top of my list food wise, however, I may come back sometime for breakfast or maybe the barbeque ribs/brisket. read more

The fish was a good size and tasted good I just felt it thought it was a little watery for some reason. Another trip to Park with my kiddos! Our server Destani and Tonya was phenomenal in service and attitude overall. The restaurant is family friendly as always and the staff makes you feel more like a friend than a patron. Breakfast, lunch or dinner they have it all. And if you are just looking for a cup of coffee and a piece of pie or cake they have that as well. If you're coming in from the highway remember when you get to McDonald's look to your left and it's right there come in and enjoy your own personal experience. Everything the food was delicious, the delivery was very good and prompt. The person delivering was very nice and friendly had no issues.

Vert clean with simple but good food. The service was a little slow at first because you seat yourself and have to wait until someone see's and then they come over. Once they bring a menu then it goes very smooth. Would recommend and would also go back. There is a large specials board when you first walk in but you can't see it until you sit down but then it's well written and easy to read. There is another board on the side wall with fries pies. I've been visiting my Aunt that lives in New Castle regularly over the past 5-6 years. We have been to Park restaurant quite a few times now and I've decide it's actually very good. Especially since on my most recent visit we went for Dinner. I love a restaurant that has daily specials and Park has so many dinner daily specials! Plus the full menu including breakfast served anytime. The dinosaur no rooms are large, open and you can seat yourself anywhere you like. The food is home style cooked fresh. Everything I've tried has been good. I have favorites and least favorites, it's all good. Service is friendly and quick. In town for a cheer competition at the high school, we didn't have much time for lunch and found this place on Yelp. What a lucky find! A spacious eatery with great staff. The menu had a lot to choose from and everything was reasonably priced. They have breakfast available all day. I was particularly impressed with the biscuits & gravy with was made from scratch. There are daily specials written on the dry erase boards and they have both homemade and commercial made pies and desserts. We liked our entrees so much yet didn't have time for dessert that we came back for pie after the event and were so pleased that we did. What a gem of a place! Don't pass it up! read more

This place was wonderful! 1st time dining there and I guarantee it will not be the last. My Husband had the Rueben sandwich and bean salad and chips. I had country fried steak, potato wedges and peaches. The atmosphere was very inviting, tables and floors was clean. When someone left they didn't let the table sit with dishes stacked up. It wasn't to busy, but had a nice little crowd. Not loud and noisy that you couldn't have a conversation. The server was VERY polite and she knew the menu, what was good, and the back story of the restaurant. She allowed us time to look over the menu. Our food was spot on, nothing wrong or forgotten. My Potato Wedges were so hot I had to let them sit to cool down was crispy golden brown and actually was cooked till they were done all the way through. This is my second time here. The menu is full of comfort food. It has been crowded both times I've been there. You can order breakfast items all day. I ordered smoked pork chops, mash potatoes and gravy, and corn. The smoked chop looked like a pork chop but tasted like a thick piece of ham. Potatoes/gravy were good. I was happy to see a roll, but it wasn't warm. The corn was fantastic, it taste like it was cut fresh off the cob. I tried a piece of cherry pie for dessert, it was somewhat disappointing. Not only was the plate cold, so was the pie. I would give it 3.5 stars, not quite a 4 star. read more

Love this place! Always our go to when in the area. Everyone that works there is genuinely nice and efficient. This visit my husband and I had our order all picked out....a server walk by with a huge plate of onion rings and a big tenderloin sandwich. We both said let's get that and split it. We are picky about both and these definitely did not disappoint! We were pleasantly stuffed and could not finish it all even sharing. We have eaten here several times in the past and it was always OK, but today Thursday September 5th,2024 was very disappointing. We drove over 25 miles just to have lunch here and sat for 15 minutes without even being acknowledged by anyone. Several waitresses passed right by our table and never would even make eye contact. I have to assume that they are under new management because we've never been ignored like this before. All of the employees seemed to be disgruntled about something and in a bad mood. We decided to just leave and go somewhere else for lunch. My wife who never complains about anything mentioned to the cashier on the way out why we were leaving and the cashier's attitude was like not interested at all. I hope that they get there problems straightened out as they are a landmark Newcastle restaurant with a good reputation. A serious management problem will be hard to overcome in today's restaurant market. I wish them well and will try them again in the distant future. read more

Great recommendation! We were told every is made from scratch at Park Restaurant and it certainly tasted that way. The tenderloin was delicious! So crispy and the fresh onions and tomatoes (tasted like they were from a garden) were an excellent compliment to the sandwich We paired our tenderloin sandwich with onion rings and they were top notch. Park serves a very big portion of tempura.esque, super crunchy onion rings. Onion ring lovers won't be disappointed. We also tried a Beef Manhattan sandwich which was also a first for us. It was also very tasty with really good mashed potatoes and good home style beef pot roast. Park Restaurant seems to me like the kind of diner I'd love to have nearby home for classic middle American breakfast, lunch and dinner fare.I hope we have a reason to be passing near Newcastle, IN sometime soon so we can stop at Park Restaurant again and try some more menu items. read more

Stopped in for breakfast last week. The food was good but the real story here is the service. Casey was outstanding. I told her it was my first time there and she went above and beyond to make me feel welcome and comfortable. Her knowledge of the menu is incredible as she guided me to the perfect meal for myself. She also kept my coffee cup hot and full and kept me stocked up with lots of creamer because I use a lot. I will definitely recommend that my business associates ask for her next time they go in.
