Great day for the links. Hole #1 at Edgewood.
Mark H.

On Mondays and Tuesdays this course is only $11 to walk. That is the best deal in the area that I know of. This course is in great shape. It is an easy drive from Noblesville or Fishers, and way cheaper than most of the courses around there, especially on Mon & Tue. The only downfall is the clubhouse. Sometimes they don't answer the phone, and many times they don't have food prepared for a snack after 9 holes. But this place is an excellent golf value.

The parking lot tailgating before dinner is half the experience. Where else can you sip a drink next to a pickup truck, make friends with complete strangers, and then walk inside to eat a meal that makes you question every life choice that led you to lesser restaurants? The food is absurdly good. The famous Perkinsville Pork deserves its own state holiday. Portions are generous, flavors are bold, and the menu somehow manages to feel both elevated and unapologetically Hoosier. Service was friendly, the atmosphere was chaotic in the best possible way. Everyone having a great time. Come hungry. Come early. Bring a folding chair for the parking lot. Leave wondering why every restaurant isn't this much fun. 10/10. I can definitely understand why people will tailgate just to get in for dinner. We started off with the meatballs, the pork loin, and the pierogies. The pork loin is a must get, and the other others were delicious as well. For my entrée, I got the pork loin as well because it was so good as an appetizer, and before that I started with the tomato soup, which was also excellent. Addison was our waiter and was extremely attentive, knowledgeable, and friendly. We had a party of over 10 people and he handled it flawlessly. If you're in the mood for something out of the city in a little bit of a change of pace, I would highly recommend trying here.

To start you walk into this cute little restaurant that feels like a throw back to the early 2000's. Fun light fixtures, yellows and purples, paintings, etc. The owner happened to be serving that day and he was such a pleasure! He gave us a full run down on the menu, why he founded the restaurant, his journey with gluten and told us nearly everything on the menu could be made gluten free. Then he recommended the Benny chips as an appetizer. We ordered it and thought they were a really fun twist on nachos. Now for $17 I do wish we had more meat and a larger portion but overall they were great. Next for the main courses. We ordered the Chicago beef and the taste of Tuscany, both gluten free. The Chicago beef was a let down over all, was a little bland and needed more flavor. The potatoes that we substituted the chips for were bomb! The pasta was the clear winner. Was yummy and was a great tasting dish. Lastly we decided to order some plain cheesecake with strawberries.. fantastic! We loved it. Over all I'd normally give this place a 4/5 based on the food quality/quantity but with the customer service and the attention the owner showed to gluten free people... this is a 5/5! We will be back and this will likely be a staple for us!

It's a hybrid between a breakfast spot and a cigar lounge vibe. We digged it! After sitting down our very friendly waitress came over and took our order. The omelette was one of the best if not the best I've ever had. Stuffed FULL of all the mix ins and cheese with yummy breakfast potatoes. The star of the show was the gluten free pancakes. The cocktail actually had some heat, and the glass was rimmed with Everything Bagel Seasoning. I'd never had that before. It was a tasty touch. The candied bacon garnish was divine. We ended up ordering a second round. The Jalapeño Deviled Eggs are outstanding. Smooth and creamy, topped with jalapeño and candied bacon. Every bite was a pleasure. For entrees, I got the Bourbon Jalapeño Shrimp. It had a light kick and tasted incredible. My husband ordered the Rise & Shine Chicken Biscuit. It was all tasty, but that biscuit was fluffy and salty, exactly how a good biscuit should be. Our server made the whole meal. She was friendly and patient with me even though I was having more trouble than usual deciding what to order. She also mixed our Bloody Marys, so she was working double duty and doing it well. The space strikes a balance between sophisticated and casual, so you can dress up or keep it relaxed and feel comfortable either way. We'll definitely be back!

Both were delicious and the server said all were made in house. What I loved about the onion rings was the super thick and crunchy beer batter. We also got some sort or chicken bowl that was a lot of food. Came with chips. That's not my particular thing but the person who ordered it loved it. They make all their own dressings and believe me when I tell you the spicy ranch is spicy. I loaded my onion ring up with that ranch and I thought I was going to pass out it was so hot. I still ate it just not as much at one of time. They have plenty of seating at the bar or tables inside and a few outside tables by the street where we saw people take advantage of the nice weather and brought their dogs. They have a small stage where they have live performances, I think someone was coming last night we were just there too early. They have pull tabs for those who are gamblers. The place was really clean and staff were friendly yet busy. Parking can be tricky so be prepared to walk some during peak times.

I watched as people took their first bites. Forkfuls paused mid-air, conversations instantly ground to a halt, and eyes widened across every table. Jake Burgess and the crew from the Burgess Restaurant Group weren't just catering an event; they were executing a masterclass in craft for a crowd without taking a single shortcut. "You have got to try this," someone blurted out to my left, leaning across the table before even finishing their bite. "I'm tellin' you, Jake and his team don't miss," another replied. "Between FoxGardin, The Den, Bonge's, Carnegie's... it doesn't matter which spot it is, they nail it every single time." Taking it all in, it hit me why they stand so far apart. In a world full of safe, forgettable catering, Jake and the Burgess Restaurant Group served up the kind of deep, craveable food that ruins standard dining for the rest of us. It's the kind of cooking that makes you immediately start planning your next trip to one of their spots before you've even finished the meal in front of you. A massive, heartfelt shoutout to Jake Burgess and the entire Burgess Restaurant Group: FoxGardin Kitchen & Ale, FoxGardin Family Kitchen, The Den, Smoky's Concession Stand, Bonge's Tavern, and Carnegie's. We weren't going to get an appetizer but the bone marrow fries looked so good in pictures that we had to try them. They did not disappoint. Very large serving and extremely flavorful. Easily an appetizer for 4 or more people (there was only 2 of us so we brought some home). My dining partner is not normally a fries person and she loved these. For entree, my dining partner had today's special which was a shredded chicken sandwich that had a jalapeño cheese sauce and the house chips. She said it was very good and again half the sandwich came home. I had their breaded tenderloin which was very good, with nice breading to meat ratio and was a bit larger than the bun. It came with lettuce, tomato, onion and pickles. It came ala carte with no sides. Service was excellent, exceptionally friendly and really took care of us. One of the best waiters I've come across. Inside is a bar/pub like feel. We opted to eat in the air condition enclosed "patio" type area which had a bit more light, but was also noisy today due to the tin lined walls/ceiling and another group that was quite loud. Made it a bit hard to converse. Normally don't think this would be an issue. While not tons of items on the menu, the selection was quite varied and you could really splurge on a filet or other such dish and really go all in for a more lavish dinner or have a burger or tenderloin, all at any time of day. Parking was right in front of the restaurant but could see it being a bit tight on a busy day.

Patrons were a variety of clientele, defintely no children. We had indicated on the open table reservation that we were celebrating our 20th wedding anniversary. I had done some research for local fine dining and was excited to try Freeland's. (Coincidentally, we went to Tinker Street - a sister company -- for our anniversary last year, and had an absolutely wonderful experience!) We were seated right away. I will admit that I was a little disappointed there was nothing on the table that looked celebratory, and that seemed like a miss, as we have experienced this from other restaurants. Freeland's just opened in Feb 2025, and is in a renovated old (1840s) house, with a lovely bar area set against William Morris wallpaper, table seating for about 50 total, and a view of the kitchen. Although it's neat to see the counter part of the kitchen, my seat was situated where I could see the side shelves of supplies and one work table, and honestly that did take away from the ambiance of everything else. I really think some sort of partition there would be better. The sommelier came quickly and offered us each a small amuse-bouche of champagne and explained that all quests are welcomed this way; it was a nice touch. Our server also came quickly, asked us if we were celebrating anything especial (yes, our 20th), and reviewed some of the evening specials. Hubs had an Old Fashioned ($19) and I had a glass of chardonnay ($12 - that was actually still on a happy hour special). I completely forgot about the sommelier in that moment, because normally I would just have them pair me a glass for the meal, but this was good, too. We got the scallops appetizer ($36) and the beets salad ($17). The three scallops, served in shells, were delicious, as was the beets salad - red and golden beets served over a rainbow of naturally (food) colored sauces. I was also envious watching oysters to other tables - hubs is not a fan and I figured we were getting plenty of food, I'll get some next time. Entrees were the NY strip loin for him ($50) with carrots and fingerling potatoes, and the butternut risotto ($32) for me. Both were beautiful and delicious. For dessert, we each ordered a coffee. Chocolate ice cream was on the house for our anniversary. We also ordered a peanut butter chocolate parfait ($17). Coffee came out first and we were almost done by the time the ice cream came out. It was nothing special compared to the rest of the food - plain store bought chocolate. A little while after, our server informed us the parfait didn't set up, and they were remaking it if we wanted to wait (yes, please). About 15 minutes later, he came out and apologized that the chef said it just wasn't setting up. The packed us up a complimentary piece of their honey cake to go instead. This was a nice little about 7 (more?) layer dessert with honey, lavender, nice fresh flavors. Overall, our dinner for two came to $210 before gratuity. Overall, I know this "should" be a 5-star rating - which I think for a "regular dinner" it certainly would be. Again, everything was beautiful and delicious. But for a celebratory milestone, the work kitchen shelf view, noise level, and the dessert snafu, today was still a solid 4. One thing that is also fun - and you will see in my pics - is that everything is served on a different piece of China. Multiple florals and patterns, it makes for a cute table. #yum #ReviewsByRL
