After reading the reviews, we decided to go against what we had heard, because we liked the guy we first met with, BLAKE. The new management that took over is not even comparable. The barn was DISGUSTING when we first arrived on Friday to set up, and our entire family cleaned the place SPOTLESS...we brought our own toilet paper, paper towels, and trash bags, because there were none...we also had to rent extra tables and bring our own chairs! And they still aren't going to give us our entire deposit back, because they claim there were items missing. AVOID AT ALL COSTS, PLEASE! Please take our advice and don't do let the same thing happen to you! The Barn was beautiful, and I loved it. It's sad what came of it after Blake left...the only honest person there!

It was clean, the carpet looked nice, the AMF lanes were fantastic condition. I am a competent bowler (207 ave RH and 160 LH), the house shot was a fun shot, not too difficult. They do have a sport shot league which is really cool, I did not ask if they could put a shot down for me like some of mte houses back home... The scoring system has some neat games you can play for practice time too. Lowest score, odds (you get points for odd counts of pins) and evens, you can set up 9 pin no-tap for those birthday parties or just for giggles. My only complaint was once I got into the system and chose a different type of scoring I could not figure out how to get out of it, I could only change to a different type of game. But it was no bother as I was practicing. For you serious bowlers in the area, they do have specials and passes for a reduced rate. So if you plan on bowling a lot then you can save some money. But let me share our HORRIBLE experience and discuss Angie's absolutely disrespectful customer service. She approached the lanes that my mom reserved and PAID for and stated there were people bowling without shoes. Understood, my mom had already began addressing this issue, and was sending people to get their shoes. Then Angie says "AND YOURE SMOKING WEED" ... let's pause for a moment. I am not smoking anything first off all. We are in a public establishment as a group full of black peoples, let's be real. Who is stupid enough to smoke weed INSIDE THE PLACE. Secondly, IF someone was smoking weed, the WHOLE place would've been a huge cloud. So, let's not falsely accuse a group of people like this. Okay, cool. She walks away. In a matter of minutes, she is back and yelling in my moms face as we are trying to celebrate my deceased brother's birthday. If you know me, I'm cool, calm, and collected and stay out of it, but the moment she raised her voice at my mother, I intervened because what we won't tolerate is this level of disrespect when we have paid and are not causing any issues. Now, someone may have had a vape and idk their rules against that, but that is absolutely NOT the same as smoking weed as she accused. But we won't talk about the overwhelming smell of cigarette smoke as you enter the building. After I had a word with her and expressed that she needed to reevaluate her customer service skills because it's not what you say, it's how you say it, and she was flat out disrespectful, she said "you know what, just bowl". But that's not even the end. As we are wrapping up, saying goodbyes, Angie calls the police which I suspected because she was hiding on the phone as I was returning shoes. There are literally police officers outside in the parking lot as we are leaving. At this point we felt targeted. Not to pull the race card, but a group of black people having a good time, celebrating a loved one with some friendly competition is too much to ask for, I guess. Y'all can tell me what that sounds like. NO ONE WAS FIGHTING. EVERYONE PAID FOR WHAT THEY RECEIVED. NO ONE WAS CAUSING A SCENE EXCEPT FOR ANGIE AND HER DISRESPECT. This was absolutely HORRIBLE customer service from Championship lanes, specifically Angie, and personally I would not recommend this place. If she's the manager, owner, or whatever, she needs to take a customer service training and reevaluate her ability to run a facility because that's not it AT ALL. I'm not even the one to cause a scene about something but they need to PROPERLY address her poor skills and treatment towards us. While we typically go with a different company when renting vehicles for trips, our preferred company no longer carries 12 passenger vans, so after weighing our options and finding that Budget offered a great discount (30% off + 10% in an amazon gift card), we booked and prepaid our vacation van weeks in advance. I called the local pickup location (Anderson)24 hours before we were scheduled to pick it up and was told all was well, that the van would be ready at the preselected time. However, early the next morning, I was awoken by a call from the local company informing me that Budget, at the corporate level, had overbooked 12 passenger vans and that our van, which had been promised and paid for, would not be available. The local Anderson employee was very kind and after informing me this has been happening frequently, she told me her recommendation was to call Budget's corporate number. Over the next three-four hours I can't even tell you how many Budget call center employees/ supervisors I spoke to... far too many. Not once did I ever get a real apology or even a reason this happened. Instead, the only option was to cancel my reservation, something I begrudgingly did after several hours of talking to people who refused to help. Mind you, this is the day we were supposed to leave for our vacation, and we needed transportation for 9 people, which would now mean renting two vehicles and putting gas in both. When I inquired about renting two vehicles from Budget and keeping the price of them within the price of the van we had already paid for, I was told I needed to call my local pick up location and ask if they had vehicles being returned. He refused to check from his end, so I demanded Budget refund all my money that day so I could rent other vehicles elsewhere. After more frustrating calls to Budget, and two calls to my bank, it took a few days before the money, minus a $150 deposit, was refunded. They were keeping my deposit, even though the cancelation was their fault. After more calls, the deposit was finally refunded. Our family looked forward to taking a big van on vacation so we could have everyone in one vehicle with plenty of storage. Instead, we had to put 1500 miles on two vehicles, as well as put gas in them. Lesson learned, Budget Car Rental sucks!
