Truth be told I have not been to an Applebee's in probably over 5 years. The chain has taken a nosedive in my view. Just look at their review which typically are sub 3. Do not get me wrong, I love their commercials. But not every location is low performing based on my visit to the Muncie, IN store. The signage is excellent off of McGalliard Rd. There are a few entry ways into the lot. My lunch visit started with easy to find parking in Northwest Plaza and a debris free lot. Also the walk up was clear of trash. A friend and I were immediately greeted and seated in a booth. Not a big lunch crowd, but they had business. My table as well as the adjacent area was clean. Our friendly female waitress took drink orders and provided menus. My friend immediately decided on their special Bourbon burger, I chose the chicken sandwich. I slipped off to wash my hands and the restroom was spic and span with proper supplies. Both plates hit the table in around 20 minutes. Everything was correct and hot. My chicken sandwich with bacon was good, fries tasty. My friend loved his burger and raved! We did get a check in and refill on drinks. Our check was presented in a timely manner and cashed out quickly. Total time was around 50 minutes. That was perfect timing around a planned one hour lunch. I may have to give Applebee's a try again, but since I was out of town it will not be the Muncie location. This visit caught me off guard in a good way. I would recommend. read more

The rib tips were good enough till the end when I noticed one was not coated with the sweet Asian sauce and it noticeably wasn't as good! The waiter wasn't very personable either. Went to Applebees last night cause it was the only place open late in Muncie. We had 7 of us so we knew it would take a little bit longer to get our food. We waited and hour and a half for our food. Food was great. Definitely recommend their waffle loaded fries and their blackened salmon. But the service could have been better.. they were definitely rushing us at first.. then was slow about taking our order and and fixing very easy mistakes I don't know if it was because it was loud but they got three out of five meals slightly wrong... then wanted to rush us to leave even though no one was finished eating. If I could give 0 stars I would. Me and two other people come one hour before they close. The store was not very busy. We get seated and had to wait 20 minutes to even get asked for drinks and it wasn't even our waiter. It was the nice lady seating people. Then we waited another 8 minutes to which our server finally comes and he seemed so confused and walked off when we just wanted some drinks of the special menu. Went around 1 on a Sunday so expected to have a wait. To our surprise there was lots of available seating including a booth which is our preference since we have an infant in a car seat to make room for. My sister and I ordered a chicken fajita roll up and the brisket tacos and split and there was so much we had left overs! Both were delicious and we raved over the brisket tacos and would definitely get both again! Tip: get a large mexi ranch because dipping your fries in it is the best! Service was very good as well! (Resteraunt Review: Applebee's) I love this Resteraunt, seriously it's amazing. Everytime I sit down to eat at this place it leaves me full and satisfied. I usually get the Bourbon Street Chicken and Shrimp and I swear it never disappoints. Plus the place is clean and classy and just a really good family sit down resteraunt. I'm giving a pretty low review because of the experience here. My boyfriend and I go to Applebee's all the time. So going to Muncies location was pretty upsetting since we took my mom and grandma out for a Mothers Day lunch. The service: 1/5 I usually get the sense that Applebee's employees are personal, witty to a punch line. I'm not judging our waitress on what kind of person she is. But she made rude and awkward remarks and didn't check on us after we got our food. Food: 3/5 My grandma and my food was great. My sisters was pasta and the flavors were all mixed wrong. Ok so we went to Applebee's with a party of 4 on a Saturday night around 9pm. Thought it would be long wait due to the amount of people waiting for their tables. But we were seated immediately which was a pleasant surprise. However after ordering our food, our appetizers and salads were delivered with our entrees. And our waitress was nowhere to be seen most of the time. Would continually forget part of our order and even served us the wrong thing multiple times. I minor set back. I placed an order via door dash. When the order got here the appetizer was not in the bag. Door dash driver offered to go back and pick it up. I called Applebee's and the manager said her person who packed up the meal forgot to add it and they found it after the door dash driver left. They instead of waiting for door dash to come back sent me an e-gift card for the mistake. It saved me and the door dash driver time. I was able to contact the driver and inform him not to waste a trip that Applebee's fixed the problem. Both door dash and the Applebee's staff were very accommodating and understanding. read more

I transferred it into a to-cup. I assume it was the manager who came over and publicly humiliated me!!!! She let me know that she was NOT going to let me leave with that cup! I said, I paid for it! I was sitting in my booth relaxing!!!! it was a frozen drink that stays frozen longer in a styrofoam cup!!! This is a restaurant my family absolutely loves to go to when we're heading out for dinner. The atmosphere is very "sportsy, family, sit-down time." I have come to find they serve AMAZING long islands. This came as a shock to me because I was not expecting to be knocked off my feet. A lot of times long islands are made from a mix -- but this one, yes this one, was the real deal. Kudos to you, Applebee's. The servers always disappear, the food seems to take longer than necessary, and the card machines on the table never seem to work. The restaurant also always seems to be freezing cold, so bring a jacket, even in summer. Avoid visiting between 5-8 at night. The hostess had us sit down (waiting area) upon arriving which was odd considering the restaurant was mostly empty. After about five minutes she had a waitress take us to our table. The girl who sat us was our waitress, but didn't even stick around to take our drink orders. She walked into the bar and sat down to chat with some other waitress'. When she finally returned we ordered drinks and food. Food didn't take super long, but it came out cold. Burger was undercooked, green beans were lukewarm/cold, and there was a long, BLACK (I have blonde hair, my boyfriend has red.) hair in the Mac N Cheese. The waitress didn't ask how our food was, so for some stupid reason we didn't mention the hair. We weren't there to have our food comped and had already waited on the waitress long enough. I am giving this ranting simply due to the manager there we received take out there for the whisky bacon burger and some chicken tenders needless to say they were a disaster the burger was burnt beyond being edible and the tenders were very cold so I called them the manager there which was a woman told me that she is upset that this happened and will be making my food over again herself and she did so we got it it was perfect big shout-out to that manager with food standers and should honestly send the cooks home cuz they obviously don't care about standards and should be replaced but all in all a good place to eat and as l by as that manager is on staff you will have good food! read more
