After being a constant customer here at the A &B sports bar in Winchester Indiana and receiving very good service as well as excellent food it saddens me to make this review. I ordered a New York strip steak which was one of their specials today and a baked potato. I should have only ordered the baked potato. The steak was extremely and I mean extremely bad. It was filled completely with nothing but gristle. I inform my server that while her service was very very good the steak was very very bad. The manager came up to my table and admitted to me that they had received bad meat from their vendor from time to time. However when I received my bill the steak charge was still on there. I used to come here two or three times a month to get their frog legs I will not be back. They've lost a really good customer. You would think that someone who owns and establishment and admits to a customer that the meat is bad from time to time would take a little bit more care and how they treat that customer especially if that customer was a regular. Luckily my wife only ordered an order of onion petals because she was not feeling very well. Perhaps it was a blessing that she wasn't feeling so well so she didn't have to order the food here and get sick even more. If I can I am going to see if I can contest this bill with my bank because this is wrong and cannot be rewarded with payment. On my way out of the place a young man was coming in and I warned him don't order the New York strip he asked me why and I was completely honest with him. He said thank you very much for the heads up. Make sure you are 21. They won't even let you in to eat otherwise. We had a handicap man in a wheelchair that we struggled to get inside but when we finally did get inside, they made us go all the way back out for not being 21, even though we only came to eat. Dont know how they stay open if they turn away people like that. probably why the place looks the way it does... I don't want to go anywhere that has "ladies welcome" on the door, but not their 21+ policy. if you ask me, they're ablest.. only turned away our service because we had a wheelchair. Won't return and Definitely don't recommend!! read more

We played golf at the Winchester Country Club and were looking for dinner close by when we checked out A & B. We missed the specials but apparently they have various specials all week. Our server informed us that some sold out by 1 PM! (Lasagna day) But the menu has various dinners, sandwiches and appetizers. We started with appetizers which we shared among the 4 of us. We all ordered various sandwiches. A wide menu of sandwiches, but there were also dinners available. Nice portions and not overdone in portion size. Several sides to add to your meal so you can get something out of the ordinary. Various drink options with both bottled and draft beer, as well as soft drinks and wine and full bar. We were welcomed and it's a friendly place. We were able to sit and chat at our leisure before going our separate ways. Our friends who were with us live closer and said they'd visit again. If we came back to that end of the state, we would definitely visit again. read more

Great food and great service at unbelievably cheap prices. Not much in the way of craft beer but they do have a good beer selection, both draft and bottled. On Saturday night we had pork chop dinners that were among the best we've had, and we spent less than ten bucks apiece. You can't beat that with a stick. The next day we returned for hamburgers, and they were cheaper than a Big Mac and twice as good. If I lived anywhere near Winchester I'd eat there every day. read more

Couldn't tell you about the food I walked out before I even ordered. Went in sat at the bar for 6 minutes no one greeted me or ask if I needed anything. Two separate guys come in and get drinks and orders taken with a very friendly service. I got an unopened can of Pepsi an attitude because I wanted a menu. Sat for 5 minutes longer no order taken do I left the unopened can of pop and walked out. This place is a joke. read more

So...been a decade since I first reviewed this place. A lot has changed. I moved back to this town, and frequent this place a lot with coworkers at lunch. They have updated and remodeled. It's a lot nicer in here now.. More of a bistro sports pub atmosphere. The food is delicious.. Especially the pork chop and steak on Fridays. The coleslaw is amazing. I just wish they had a grilled fish or some non battered shrimp in this town, since I'm a dairy free pescetarian with celiac. Also, it's completely nonsmoking now, though there is a fenced patio with several tables outside for smoking. read more

Rolled in from out of town I live in Texas this is the first place I stopped I wanted to eat at a café. These people welcomed me with open arms basically and made me feel right at home loved the small town atmosphere. And the food here was amazing and cheaper than what I'm used to I would highly recommend this place to anyone. read more

Out of town and was brought here by a groovy friend. I don't know who she was, but this women ran all over the place busting her butt with a smile on her face. Rocked a perfect dirty vodka martini! Couldn't do it better myself. They also had an awesome Painting on the wall from Bob Ross's close friend DWJ. Hmmm my wife even ordered food at close time and this lady rocked it out! Great food, awesome prices. Got a tenderloin and fries for lunch and it was awesome. This is a bar, so I imagine kids are NOT allowed. Only thing that was a slight detractor is the smokiness, but not so much as to keep me from eating there again. Bartender was also very nice and helpful. read more
