I visited this establishment on a Saturday night and noticed very few patrons (a clear warning sign…read morefor a bar). The bartender continued to carry on a conversation with other customers while I waited patiently to be recognized. He eventually came over and stood in front of me without speaking (warning sign number two). I requested a beer menu which he pointed out was on the wall. He kindly let me sample 2 beers. I requested a wine menu for my wife and he listed the varietals available. I inquired about the cost of the Pinot Grigio. He apparently had to go find the the manager and came back to tell me the price of the Sauvignon blanc. I politely pointed out that I wanted the price of the Pinot. He seemed visibly frustrated (as he looked like it was a burden for him to walk that much) and had to go find the manager again. He poured the beer and opened the bottle, throwing away the cork. I asked about the possibility of corking the leftover and he seemed to fish the cork out of the trash, pushing it back into the bottle without offering a wine glass (the third warning sign). I gave him my credit card and as he rang up the sale, I inquired about setting up a tab since he didn't offer to do so as most bartenders will. This was clearly too much for this poorly trained millennial and he again had to get assistance from the manager. Not being able to control himself, he muttered "I guess he's never been to a bar before" loud enough for me to hear, obviously upset that I did not request a tab before he rang in the sale. I asked him to repeat what he said. He of course had misplaced his cajones by then and denied saying anything. The manager, looking like Large Marge from Pee-wee's Big Adventure, naturally failed to try and resolve the situation and took back the drinks without giving my credit card back until asked. I sarcastically thanked them for their customer service and went to leave. Naturally, one of their few regulars had to throw in his 2 cents in and followed me outside. This little bald man with his pit bull said that "maybe the problem is you". I replied "maybe" and walked away with my wife. He followed behind making fun of my wife's gait (she limps from prior surgery for bone cancer) and threatening to push her over. As he was obviously all talk and no action, I ignored him as we walked over to the Canon Commons for the concert. Of course he also showed up there, but by then he also had misplaced his man parts and didn't approach us. So a word of warning to potential new visitors - DON'T.

My wife and I came here for our anniversary and it was so relaxing, with the sun setting over the western horizon and the Barn not to packed it was a perfect night. The Brew Barn is awesome with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating and that really cool modern barn vibe that we all love. With a great menu with pizza, shareable (like 10 barrel pretzel or totchos) to handhelds (cheesesteaks, shrimp tacos or pulled pork to name a few) the menu will have you licking your chops like your favorite K9 back home. All pizzas are brick oven and they do have some stadium dogs too if that the fixing you are looking for. They have happy hour Tuesday - Thursday 3pm-5pm, Friday 11am-5pm and Sunday 9am-8pm. Also on Sunday they have a buffet for lunch from 9am-noon. This location is probably my favorite because it isn't in the city, surrounded by lots of noise, it's off the beaten path and the road less traveled. The service is great and they are super welcoming. Head out to Maria Stein for a slower Saturday or Sunday afternoon and enjoy the original Moeller Brew Barn, it's a great delight.

The restaurant was a lot more kitschy than I was expecting, which I loved. Our waitress had a wonderful energy. She was very knowledgeable about the menu. The menu had several unique items. I ordered a Scottish soda called IRN BRU. I love trying food and drinks from around the world. It tasted like an Orange Crush soda. Our waitress said they were known for their Cauliflower soup. It was cold outside so soup sounded perfect. I also got a pepper jack grilled cheese. The soup came in a huge bowl. The combo of the soup and grilled cheese was very filling. My friends ordered the sticky pudding. I had a bite and it was delicious. I cant believe it's taken me so long to eat here. I throughly enjoyed it and cant wait for my next road trip.

In fact it is my favorite restaurant of all time. Sunday we stopped again. I had the British chicken curry and the fatoush. It was amazing as usual. That fatoush is so refreshing! My wife had the pork chop which comes with these amazing mashed potatoes with mustard seasoning that will blow your mind. She can never finish because it's so much food, which is OK with me because I help her out some. My favorite way to eat this is to mix a little mashed potato, mustard and pork chop together into one delicious bite. We were too full for dessert, but the times that we had the dessert here were spectacular as well. Thank you to all the people that work at Paynes, please don't change anything, you are the best!
