Been here before on my way to Eldora. New management. Same great Whistle Stop. My toter was dead and the new owner (Andy Riffle) came out and gave me a boost. Be back for the season opener. Andy Riffle said he is trying to sponsor the World 100 winner's purse if business stays strong.

A+ 6 of us for lunch, Bo Burgers, Tenderloin, and Philly steak pizza. All were amazing. No liquor on a Sunday, but didn't miss it.

Unfortunately, the larger dining room on the other side is the complete opposite--sterile, plain, and uninspired. It could really benefit from a decorator who could bring it in line with the vibe of the bar and outdoor areas. 17 West positions itself as the nicest (and essentially only upscale) restaurant in the New Bremen area, but it falls short of that goal. I ordered the Spicy Chicken Salad sandwich with mashed potatoes. What arrived was a croissant that looked like it came straight from the IGA bakery, topped with a single sad leaf of lettuce and a thin, pale tomato slice. The chicken salad was scooped with what appeared to be an ice cream scoop and simply plopped onto the bread. The result was a bland sandwich with almost no spice or flavor. The mashed potatoes were presented the same way--scooped and unappealing. Overall, the presentation was cafeteria-level at best, and I've had better sandwiches in hospital cafeterias. My wife ordered the Firecracker Chicken. Her side salad was tiny and unremarkable, and while the chicken leg itself tasted decent, it was still just a sauced chicken leg. At $22, it felt significantly overpriced. 17 West likely wouldn't survive in a larger city with real competition. In the New Bremen area, however, it benefits from having very little rivalry, which allows it to stay in business despite the clear mismatch between its prices and the quality and presentation of the food.

From the moment we walked in, we were impressed. The restaurant is absolutely beautiful -- warm, inviting, and thoughtfully designed. The food was nothing short of amazing. I ordered the Applewood smoked 22oz ribeye, which was cooked perfectly and packed with incredible flavor. It came with a salad topped with a truly outstanding dressing that complemented the meal perfectly. My wife chose the double smashed cheeseburger, and she couldn't stop talking about how delicious it was -- juicy, flavorful, and cooked just right. For dessert, we were lucky enough to try several creations made by Kim Davis, and they were phenomenal. The pecan pie was rich and perfectly balanced, the upside-down cake served with vanilla ice cream and pistachio crumb was both comforting and elevated, and the coffee crème brûlée paired with chocolate ice cream was an unforgettable finish to the evening. Overall, it was an amazing dining experience from start to finish. If you find yourself in Ohio, this is a place you absolutely don't want to miss.

Versailles is about 20-25 minutes away and Silas was worth the trip for their Sunday morning brunch. For starters, its very cost effective at $15/head with a buffet featuring french toast casserole, herbed eggs, coffee cake, bacon, etc. The space is gorgeous - from the lighting to the floor to ceiling windows to the fact that they have Molton Brown soap in the bathroom (luxxxxurrry). Overall, the brunch was a very smooth and lovely experience topped off with a solid coffee menu. I opted for the drip coffee - wish I knew where there beans were from? Guessing local-ish based on the quality. My only complaint was that they had a hard time keeping the buffet options full so it was hit or miss when you'd go up to the bar. Minor feedback. Look forward to visiting for lunch or dinner in the future!

The food was outstanding, and I had the Scallops and squid ink spaghetti, also at the table was the steak, the tacos, and the roasted vegetable plate. Everyone shared bits from their dishes and I have to say we were in complete agreement that the food was phenomenal! We topped it off with a Dubai chocolate treat to round out the meal. Our server was Cale (sp?) and he didn't miss a thing. He offered suggestions and we never had to ask for anything. This is one restaurant that I wish was closer to me and not so far away. My visit to family will now include this restaurant!
