I went in with my service animal, as I do everywhere. SERVICE ANIMAL!! A toy miniature Australian Shepherd. There were only 12-14 people in the whole place, which seemed strange for a Saturday evening. It took a while, but the waiter finally came over. I was asking about a couple things on the menu, but they were out of most everything. So... Chicken quesadillas was the special. I was hungry, so I settled with those. I also ordered the moon balls, which they highly advertise, and they were out of those as well. I ordered a two hearted ale by bells. He brought the wrong beer. No biggie. I like the other one also. I didn't even say anything. While my food was being cooked, the bartender came around and brought another patron. The patron had a baby in her arms. They ask if they could see Merlin. He's a very quiet dog, but when he meets someone new, he let out a single bark. Then, he seen the baby and let out another bark. He loves babies. I noticed other people, in the bar, said, "Awe"! After they played with Merlin for a little bit, he returned to the table. My food came out shortly after and I started eating. Then... The owner comes out. She said I'm going to have to leave because it's unsanitary to have a dog in there. I explained nicely to her that he was a service animal and that I had a disability he helps me with. She asked me what the disability was. I explained to her that the HIPAA protects me from disclosing my medical information. She said it didn't matter. It was unsanitary and he was disruptive. I explained to her that her own bartender asked to see Merlin. He wasn't aggressive. He was just excited to meet someone. Then, he seen the baby. She didn't care. Told me I needed to leave. I asked her about the food and she said she would wrap it up for me. I asked her if I had to pay for it then. She said yes. I very calmly told her that she needs to Google a service animal. He is more than allowed by law, to be in a restaurant. He's not allowed in the kitchen or where they store food. I told her I would gladly finish my meal, pay for it and then leave. I gave her a chance to go check the law, but instead, she called the law. I was outside, taking a video of another patron who had left. I had forgot the bartenders name, so I tried to open the door and ask. By the way... Merlin was not with me at that time. I went back without him. The door was locked. I finished the video with the other patron and started to leave. Obviously, I was outside on the sidewalk because she had locked the door. As I turn to leave, I heard someone say, "excuse me, sir". I turned around and it was a police officer. He told me the owner didn't want me at the establishment and that I needed to go away for today. Not forever. Just for the day. I gave him a brief synopsis, and four more police officers showed up. I mean... They came in at a high rate of speed, lights, flashing, and all jumped out of their vehicles. It was terrifying. I guess the police here don't even know about service animals and persons with disabilities rights. I explained to him that I was leaving anyway. He called me back. I mean... If you see a person walking away, and your goal is to get them to leave, isn't it over? It's happened to me a couple times. People don't understand how the law works, regarding a service animal. She repeatedly used the word, "unsanitary". I will be filing a discrimination lawsuit. It was ridiculous. I gave her a chance to google the law. I also remained very calm throughout the conversation. If there is a local Attorney, who would like to help with this case, please comment. I do have a video statement, from the other patron, saying that he was not disruptive. She actually enjoyed seeing him.

The hostess greeted me quickly and, when I asked if they had a bar area, she ushered me to it and I took a seat at the bar. I should probably have taken a clue from the fact that dirty glasses were clustered at the end of the bar, and there were neither bartender nor other patrons in sight. The other dinner patrons were in the dining room. Chips and salsa came quickly, followed by my bartender who took my order for a house Margarita, on the rocks. "Would you like salt or sugar with that?" should have been my second clue. Sugar? On a Margarita? The chips needed salt, but fair enough. Lots of people are watching their salt, and that was easily remedied. The salsa, though, tasted more like pureed tomatoes, lacking any kind of discernable heat. Strike one. The Margarita was also a disappointment: watery and weak. Though she poured the mix from a jug, it's not uncommon to prepare a large batch of mix early in the day and add tequila just before service, but that was not the issue here. Flavor and any punch from the tequila were conspicuously absent. Strike two. For my solid food, I ordered a chili relleno, my litmus test of a good Mexican place. While delivered quickly and piping hot temperature-wise, the sauce had an unusual sweetness to it while the poblano pepper had no. Heat. Whatsoever. Strike three. When I stood up, signaling that I was ready to leave, the server simply said, "You're ready for your check?" My Margarita was only about one-third gone, and I'd only taken a few bites of my relleno. An astute restaurant professional would have noticed that very little had been eaten and would have asked if everything was all right. It wasn't, but they either didn't notice or knew not to ask. A good four- or five-star experience - even after a single visit - will encourage repeat visits and a positive review will encourage others to try the establishment. A one-star experience, especially when it's the first visit, will not inspire the patron to give the place a second chance, and a review based on that single experience will likely have a chilling effect. This is one of the few bowling alleys in the area. It has somewhat inconsistent hours of operation as on Wednesdays, only the restaurant is open during the day for a bit from 11 AM-12:30 PM with no daytime bowling. Cannonball Lanes is only open Wednesday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday with varying hours. Bowling starts at 5:00 each of those days except for Sunday when it begins at 2. I bowled on a Wednesday shortly after they opened at 5 in the evening. It was pretty crowded but still had some open lanes. It was hard to converse with the attendant at the desk nor with a person right next to me as the music was at ear bleeding loudness level. The attendant wasn't especially welcoming. I saw him adding songs to the jukebox as we walked around to scope things out prior to play. I saw no price list posted. I believe it was around $11 for one game and two pairs of rental shoes. I'm assuming that's reasonable these days, but it's far higher than what bowling cost the last time I had bowled. If memory serves, you can also rent a lane by the hour. It wasn't easy to find a provided ball to use as they were spread out and either very light or extremely heavy. I'll search more thoroughly next visit for a better fit. I got a kick out of the typically goofy multicolored bowling shoes. They had Velcro fastenings unlike the shoes I remember from my youth. Thankfully, I have since purchased well fitting bowling shoes of my own. As is the modern way, electronic scoring is provided, so you don't necessarily need to remember how to tally scores yourself. I definitely need some work on my rusty techniques, but I had fun and would like to return. A small arcade was on the premises. They have the restaurant or snack bar I mentioned though I didn't get a look at it. It looks like you can organize parties here for birthdays and the like as well. They have no website, but from what I've seen online, they have summer and winter hours which are subject to change at any time, so it is advised to call ahead before you go if you are in doubt.
