    Indiana law for under 21

We had previously stopped to grab a bite to eat as a family passing through and had a great experience. However this time we were rudely told to leave because our 19yr old son didn't have his ID to show his age. He was not attempting to consume any type of alcoholic beverages, we had stopped to grab a bite to eat. We were told he could be there with us if he could prove he is 18 or older......however that does not seem to correlate to the law as I understand it and I don't know why we were treated so rudely and told to leave. We did not attempt to sit at the bar and grabbed an open table in the dining area with a view of the TV. What are we missing here??

Went in on a Wednesday night around 6. It's open seating. So, the four of us went to the back and sat at a table for 8. No of those looks from anyone for doing that. I'll admit the waitress was there within a few minute to take our drink orders. I also ordered pretzel bites as appetizer. The drinks came right out. Now keep in mind they had a full house. So that was impressive. And anytime our drinks ran low, we were asked if we wanted another. She kept our drinks going. Good job. If you are looking for a diverse menu, you won't find it here. But what they do have, they do it well. Keep in mind it is a Pub. I ordered their Jackson St Burger Medium rare with fries. One ordered a Mushroom burger with nothing else on it and didn't get any odd looks. And, a couple other dishes as well. If you sit in the back you can see right into the kitchen. I don't think they are afraid of you seeing what there doing back there. The meal came in less than 10 minutes. Pretty good for a full house. The hand pressed burgers were cooed fine. And they tasted very good. We finished our meals and sat and talked for a while. We weren't rushed and felt very welcome. Nice place to spend an evening.

Open on Sunday and hard to believe there's a place like this in this little town. But, as you're passing through to somewhere else you must stop in for an appetizer and a drink. We had lunch at a lazy Sunday afternoon when we thought everything else was closed. Great liquor and beer selection. The six dollar fried bologna sandwich is a must try. Despite aspirational prices for a small Midwest town, Jackson Street has quickly become my favorite Brookston eating spot. Friendly staff, great atmosphere combining a vintage destressed barn and downtown LA hipster joint, and straitforward menu of quality picks makes for an excellent dining experience. I first go to give a huge shout out to whomever decided to put a kale salad as a side option. That's a modern move and shows this place is in touch with the times and knows how to put together taste and nutrition. And it sure was tasty! My sister and I tried the two burgers and crab rangoon. I like to think I'm a connoisseur of both and can gladly recommend all to any wanting to savour a properly put together burger or rangoon. I noticed the buns where far above the trash white wheat many a private restaurant ends up with. The crab rangoon claimed handmade and also felt it'd been given a special touch. There is limited parking but a little walk from down the street in middle America is well worth the trip.

A favorite of our crew is the bologna sandwich for an entree and the crab rangoon for an appetizer.

The restaurant is huge. There is a full bar with seating. There are a couple of televisions above the bar to watch. There is also a decent-sized dining are in the bar area and a larger, separate dining area just off of the dining area. The staff there were friendly. This pub has a country, downhome feel. They serve pub style food, including steaks, burgers, salads, soups, fish, tenderloins, wings, pasta, fish and chips and meatloaf. Additionally, they have a full-service bar with signature cocktails. Be on the lookout for their daily specials. I got me a Popper Burger with a side of fries. It took about 15 minutes for me to get my food, and it was very delicious. It was fresh, hot and flavorful. I highly recommend checking out this hidden gem. They have some savory drinks and delicious food.

My family was making a trip from Indianapolis to Michigan so we added this restaurant as a stop on the way back since it's conveniently located just a few minutes off of l-65. It looked small at first but there's actually two dining rooms in addition to the really long bar area. My mom of course got the obligatory breaded tenderloin since we are in Indiana. The size was perfect (the size of two sandwiches and not the size of a whole dinner plate) and thought it was delicious. My brother enjoyed and promptly wolfed down his loaded Mac and cheese. I opted for the loaded fries since they were smothered in pulled pork, beer cheese, and fresh jalapeños. The accompanying cole slaw was delicious, but very sweet. The pulled pork was super tender and delicious. It was good, but honestly the best bite I had was the tomato I stole off my mom's tenderloin. It was the freshest tomato I've had in probably years. All of the food is grown on the owner's family farm in the nearby town of Reynolds which I'm assuming is a big part of their recent recognition. It was fairly busy on a Friday around noon. There were a few groups of people in on their lunch break and a few families. They also had several online orders as well. The servers were friendly and quick.
