By far the best tropical smoothie. The staff is wonderful and kind and they are very good at putting together a smoothie and wrap! I've been to several tropical smoothies and this one never disappoints. The baja chicken wrap is delightful as well as all the smoothies being well blended. Never worried any time I make the trip here that I'll be dealing with rude workers that sabotage food, and don't care for what they put together... avoid the Commack location unless that's the experience you want. but come to Patchogue and you'll be sure to leave satisfied. Do not go here, not only was this place horrible with meeting my needs for customer service they never even apologized, I ordered a Baja wrap and a few other items to my house because I cannot get out of the house with kids, as I bit into my sandwich for long hairs came out of my mouth, it was disgusting!!! I called him up to complain and tell them that I want my sandwich re-delivered and because I did it through a third-party they cannot even find a way to deliver it, they expect me to go there to get my sandwich? Are you kidding me? Also the young adults who are employed here consistently make smoothies for their friends who come out of order of when they were ordered. I will never come here again. I sadly am leaving a bad review because the service here is horrible. It's great food and smoothies but the fact I ordered online at 1pm and they had my food ready but it took them over an hour to get my smoothie done is absurd. They need a better team that works quickly and efficiently. Do not advertise that an online order will take 10 min and then have it take over an hour... this isn't the first time I've had issues with this location. But it is the closet to me. They need to have stronger leadership and organization. There should be workers handling online orders specifically and workers handling in store orders. BE MORE ORGANIZED AND QUICK SERVICE. I know the employees here are young but they have to learn about customer satisfaction. I called to order for pick up so I won't have to wait. Went there, they haven't even started on my order. There were no customers in sight. Just me. All the employees were chit chatting behind the counter and I had to wait 15 more minutes for my lousy flatbread peanut butter banana crunch. Got my order, went home. Opened my sandwich to find a flatbread with peanut butter and bananas. Missing a few more essential ingredients. Yummy delicious fruit smoothies!! They have a WIDE VARIETY on their menu & you can modify them if you wish or make up your own as well. You can also add scoops of different vitamins/minerals etc. They have food as well but I never purchased any of the sandwiches, salads. Wraps or desserts they have. The prices aren't cheap but not too expensive if you're going to get a large smoothie with a ton of fruits, vegetables & Aver proteins, powders and it is going to run you around $8. But if you go into the City and go to some Gourmet hippy dippy smoothie shop you're going to pay $12 or more. The inside is decorated pretty neatly like a Tiki Hut Beach theme. It can be quite busy at times depending on the day of the week with its time of day. Obviously when it's busy it's going to take a long time to place your order and get your order. Sometimes when it's not so busy it can still take a while depending on who was working. They hire I'm sure a lot of young kids who are probably getting their first job but we have to remember that we were young once getting our first job getting used to things. Some people have no patience though I actually witnessed someone basically yelling at the person making them smoothie to hurry up and a bunch of other nasty stuff which really isn't nice for all you know it could have been their first day and they're still trying to get used to certain things. Plus you never messed with anyone who's making or working w/ your food... I remember being told that years and years ago when I worked in the restaurant business I put myself through college. Honestly it's sad how badly their service is. I tried calling in my order and no one would answer the phone. I walked in and order and waited 40mins and my two smoothies were still not ready. I asked for a refund and the girl looked confused and told me she couldn't give me my money back because there wasn't a manager working to give me my money so she begged me to take a gift card instead. After a few minutes seeing her panicking, I told her just give me a gift card. Come to find out a few days later I tried to use that gift card at a different location and they told me there was nothing on it. This isn't the first time I have waited forever to get my stuff. I have never experienced poor service at any location except for this one. They might need more staffing I'm not too sure. At one point the line was so long and there was no one at the register taking customer orders. Many people walked out. Went in for my lunch break today. Although they were shorthanded the staff was very pleasant and got my order out quick. This store has improved in the last several months on there speed of service and quality of food. The staff is more pleasant than they used to be. I loved my cali chicken flatbread and my peanut butter cup smoothie. Keep up the good work and energy. Kudos to management that other guy was horrible. Definately has come a long way. This place is kind of weird? I usually place an online order and just go pick it up, but every time I try to wait in the designated "pick up area", employees will straight up look me in the eyes, and walk past me, walk around me, ignore me, help customers that got there after me, and I'm just like huh???? I literally had to wave my hand in front of a girl's face to tell her I was there to pick up an order (and I am SO not a rude person to employees ever), and she was like "oh I thought you were waiting" ........wat, WAT. They had great smoothies as well as a wide variety of sandwiches. I guess here in NY it is now a franchised restaurant like to go once in a while after the gym... Hello! Where is management? Seriously! Always kids working, no one older than 20 and they horse around and curse while making smoothies and food. I love the smoothies so I went 2 days ago knowing how much the employees piss me off and they managed to do it again. I ordered a Totally Green no sugar. After waiting 15 min, I got a smoothie with a lot of sugar. I can't have added sugar at all. They made me a new one but took forever. I ordered the Baja Chicken Flatbread which took even longer to get after my remade smoothie. I told the cashier that I was staying but received my food in a bag with no napkins. I took a seat at a dirty table that had food dried all over it and there was garbage all over the floor. It was DISGUSTING! This place needs to seriously be evaluated by corporate or the owner if it's a franchise. The service is absolutely terrible. And consistently terrible. This is the closest Tropical Smoothie to me and that is why I continue to go but I'm tired of the poor service and the guys in the back cursing up a storm and doing everything BUT working. I've given this location many chances. Every time I've gone my order was incorrect, or just plain not edible. Forget about it if you have a special request (less or more of an ingredient). This is my first review ever on yelp, and I'm hoping you guys will improve. I ordered a cheese quesadilla and a junior smoothie. It took about ten minutes to come out. I get it, it was very busy and they seemed short staffed. Finally I get my food and go to sit down. Every table was dirty. I went to eat and the quesadilla was not cooked. The cheese wasn't melted at all. There were random black beans in it. It was a mess. I waited ten minutes for this. I went back to the counter to complain to the girl whose picking up garbage. She looks at me and doesn't even acknowledge that I'm standing there. She was very rude but she did give me a refund. To be fair this is only my second visit to this location. I like the cafe, cleanliness, and front end staff is pleasant. The first visit i felt the service was quite slow but I thought maybe it was normal since the food is fresh and takes time to prepare. This time I ordered the hummus veggie bowl and a smoothie. When they called my name I took my bag and left not realizing my smoothie was not in the bag. My fault, I should have looked. I went back and told the cashier I had forgotten my smoothie. She informed me it was being made now. I was surprised at how long it was taking. There were about 8 other guests there. 5 were waiting for their food too. I like the window allowing you to watch your food being made. As I watched, the young woman who was making my smoothie was talking to the other smoothie person. Which was fine until she put the top on and stood there conversing instead of bringing it out. I recommend management discuss timing with the employees. Everyone needs to be somewhere and I think there could be improvements made. read more

If your a fan of glass cleaner and the bottom of shoes in your smoothies then this is the place for you. They decided to clean the glass while they were making multiple smoothies by spraying glass cleaner across the room over the open drinks and open ice cooler. Then to wipe down the glass they stood on the prep surface with their grimy shoes. Health department special. read more

I've been hearing great things about Tropical Smoothie Cafe, so I decided to stop by and judge it for myself. I ordered the Island Green, which includes: Spinach, Kale, Mango, Pineapple & Banana. I tried to watch the guy in the back make it...... I noticed a lot of syrup when he added the scoops of the pineapple and mango. I asked the manager if they used fresh fruit or was it canned. He informed me that they use canned fruit. This is a big disappointment in my book, because I do not consume sugar in my daily diet. They seem to promote healthy smoothies, however I don't consider canned fruit healthy. :-( read more

i have been a tropical smoothie customer for a few years. I recently moved so Patchogue is now the closest location to me. On my second trip in I ordered a caribbean luau flatbread. It came with a side order of a lovely black bug on one of the pineapples. I did not realize this until I got home (15 minutes away) and opened the sandwich. I called and the girl told me to hold on, which I did for about five minutes. Then she came back on the phone to say I could bring the sandwich back and they could refund me or make me a new one. I told her I was hungry, I am not unreasonable...this place has a lot of fruit, there will be bugs around. It could happen anywhere. When I got there she took my card and refunded the sandwhich (not the whole ticket-just the sandwich). Then I asked if they were making a new one. She said no, she thought I wanted a refund. I told her I was hungry and wanted a new sandwich. She put the order in and had the nerve to tell me that I would have to pay for it! I was disgusted with that, and she said this time she would not charge me but in the future I could only get a refund OR a new sandwich. I asked to speak to the manager, who came out and told me that is their policy. She has people trying to scam her all the time by using the same coupon. Everyone wants something for free. She said she asked her employee if I looked familiar and the employee said no. So since I am a new customer I don't get respectful service. I was so upset by the staff's response to this matter.
