I've been going there since I moved to Bluepoint 11 years ago and have enjoyed their famed breakfast specials ever since. today, I tried something new off the board. The Montecristo is one of my favorite classic sandwiches. I never noticed it on the board before today. They even add a kicker to it and use Rye bread, which gave it just a little bonus and made it, really, something special to talk about! I hope that people remember the character and simple brilliance of this place as corporate chain competitors move more closely in our neighborhood, the Firehouse Deli, is really amazing. read more

Not just another deli. Their food is sooo good and I can not say enough about their salads. Try the potato and macaroni salad you won't regret it. In fact, their macaroni is to this day still THE BEST I have ever had!!!! Definitely a MUST TRY!!!! read more

I've been going to this deli for breakfasts for decades. Manager struggling as of late (if only he would smile more and go gentler on those case doors in his haste to quickly serve everyone!) Great support staff keeps disappearing to young struggling staff. I don't understand this, but I believe a great review is deserving this morning. Hoping the AM chef/cook/grill man never leaves! This morning I had the Einstein's Bagel. IT WAS ABSOLUTELY ALL FRESH, DELICIOUS, YUMMY. Where do I begin. Maybe if the help showed some Enthusiasm they would try and get the order right. 3 heros ordered, 3 mistakes. On a good note the coleslaw was good. Very lean hero's. The Captain looked more like a rookie. How do you make a Roastbeef and Swiss dry. The meat was brown which freaks me out. The "works" were off duty too since they forgot the lettuce and O&V. I have been coming to this deli for years and the attitudes of the staff this summer has been down right disgraceful. I chalked up the first incident to a bad day but the way I was just spoken to by one of the male staff members while trying to place an order over the phone was the last straw. Ordered a grilled chicken salad with avocado. The avocado was brown and gross. The lettuce and cucumbers were limp and sad . The salad also had tomato and the chicken. That was everything that was on the salad. When I call to complain the guy didn't seem to care and proceeded to tell me that avocado goes brown after being left out. Sad salad. read more

I moved to B.P. in July of 2011. When I first went to Firehouse Deli it was good. The sandwiches we hearty and tasty and reasonably priced. The place seemed pretty up to par with sanitation, although you never know what's going on behind the scenes. Unfortunately, over the last 2 years or so it has gotten terribly worse. The sandwiches are tasteless (the chicken salad which was once pretty good is now under seasoned and bland) and the egg sandwiches are dry and boring. The staff is OK, they could use a customer service workshop or two. But I understand that the deli industry isn't necessarily the easiest to find and keep good employees. I would love nothing more than for the place to go up for sale and to be able to purchase it and serve excellent food the the community. Who's got the money to help me live my dream! read more

My boyfriend and I were here yesterday, saw a rat walk right passed us in the floor. The workers didn't even offer to give us a discount for our food. I don't even know why we didn't walk out. I ordered an açaí bowl which was all liquid underneath the fruit. We went there the next morning for breakfast and my boyfriends sandwhich had some blue thing in it and tossed it away. Never had a problem with the food or staff ever here. Even the "ex convict" looking employees are polite and know how to make a good sandwich. Definitely a bit on the pricey side, but that seems to be a common theme amongst delis in this area. It's my go-to deli, love the Mr. Horton panini. I've apparently created quite a stir with my "ex-convict" comment. Just to elaborate, the place is gross, it needs to be cleaned, thoroughly. There are people that work there that are very nice, exceptionally so. There are also other people that I referred to as "ex-convicts" because they look like they need a shower and a lesson in customer service. They are brash and shouldn't be working with the public, especially in food service. I don't want someone sweating over my food. Tattoos have no bearing on my comment. I myself have a ton of tattoos, and have never been a convict, or plan on becoming one, not sure where the other poster got that idea from. There is a lot of potential to the location, it seems like the owners have given up or ran out of money. I simply offered a suggestion so the owners would wake up and realize that they have a potential gold mine on their hands and are letting it fall to pieces. read more
