Tropicakes made my Dad's 90th birthday extra special. I had been searching for a specialty cake to celebrate my Dad's big day. When I saw Tropicakes, I knew it was meant to be and was going to be extraordinary just like my Dad. I was late in placing an order. And I think I flustered Tamar because it was so last minute (2 days prior). But she had the numbers and came through in a big way. We had a brief discussion about my preferences and she offered suggestions and promised it would be beautiful. Let me just say, when Tamar sent me a photo of the cake, I had tears of joy. It really looked amazing. You can just tell that this cake was made by a true artist who has great pride in the end product. My Dad was so happy when he saw the cake and my family just ooh'd and ahh'd over the cake. According to my parents the cake was delicious! They enjoyed every single bite. Prices are on the higher end. But it is truly worth every single cent. And best of all, it tasted just as amazing as it looked. I couldn't be happier with Tropicakes. Celebrating mommy moms birthday in Hawaii meant having to purchase a cake there. tropicakes came in cluth! The service was great. The owner texted me a picture of the cake when it was finished. I guess it was a cake but like a cookie cake? It was in the shape of a pineapple. When things are pretty you think ... hmm what if it's not good. But it was actually pretty good. Almost too pretty to eat, but i had to sell my arm and my leg to pay for it. Lol. It was definitely pricey, but I appreciate that she include a tiny happy birthday sign and candles. That was super sweet. I don't remember reading what the cake included but nonetheless I appreciated that. I had the cake delivered to our hotel and that was $15. There is also Hawaii tax on the cake which was $10 or some sort. So it just felt so expensive not even having all the extra decorations. But had to be done and I got the cake. All in all, just do it. You most likely won't regret it. Still kinda hurting from the price and the fact that we threw half of it away because it was too big to eat in the 4 days we had left

We celebrated my daughter's first birthday away from home so I wanted to make sure she had a great birthday cake. I reached out to tropicakes and they were easy to work with and great with communication. As soon as I booked the cake the owner reached out right away to work with me on the design. We picked up the cake on my daughter's birthday and it was beautiful. The owner even gave us a set of candles and happy birthday cake topper. There is a lot of attention to detail as the cake has hidden treasures on top like handmade chocolate shells and glittery macaroons. As we ate it in our hotel lobby people would pass by and comment on how beautiful the cake is. If you want a memorable beautiful cake I highly recommend tropicakes.

My hubby ordered me a cake from this place in July 2022. I was very happy with this cake, it was really cute and really yummy. Not too sweet but not lacking flavor at al! I didn't get too many pics but here you can see it was a lipstick and lips. Also the texture and details to add was very original and was perfect for my taste. I'm always very excited about confections and cakes etc. I appreciate she added candles and "Happy Birthday" cake topper with the order. My hubby ordered this for me as a surprise and it was really sweet of him but also beautiful and made my birthday extra super special. I highly recommend this cake provider to anyone. Beautifuy decorated with colors of my choice. I did not want any food coloring, so I choose neutral. Price - It is not cheap but it is totally worth it. Communication - Quick response. We communicated through the instagram. Their website and instagram show many examples. Easy to understand the customization choices and prices. I was little worried when they asked to change the delivery time and had to reconnect with the restaurant but worked out at the end.

i found tropicakes on IG. I reached out to order a cake for my daughter's 21st that we would be celebrating in Oahu. Well there was a miscommunication , it was more on my end. And I could not apologize more about the misunderstanding. We got the dates mixed up. She had made the cake and it was the wrong date due to a miscommunication, she ended up making another cake for me on the date I needed it. Which was so sweet of her! I couldn't believe she was so understanding about this situation. We ordered a sunset 21 number cake. The cake was beautiful! I literally didn't want to cut it. it was beautiful! it wasn't too sweet at all, it was perfect amount of sweetness. i highly recommend you order a cake for a special occasion or loved one. I found Tropicakes on yelp. I was traveling to hawaii for a vacation for my husbands birthday and I was looking for a cake for him. I found Tropicakes and loved how different it was, i didnt want a cake from anywhere else. But getting this cake was SUCH A SMOOTH PROCESS. It was so clear on their website, so easy to book, the response times were SO FAST. They responded to me on instagram, by text super fast. It was very easy to coordinate the cake pick up. The cake was BEAAAUUTIFUL, it was everything I expected and more. It tasted amazing and decorated just soooo beautifully! I highly recommend! Had a wonderful experience with Tropic cakes. Had a last min arrangement to celebrate a birthday and within two days time, they made the mini cakes and also accommodated on the delivery time ( outside of their regular hours). The mini cakes looked perfect and the taste was very good. Not too sweet, creamy and the biscuit was crispy!! Highly recommend them for a unique and very Hawaii cake experience! read more

This is my second time ordering from Tropicakes and both experiences were seamless and amazing! The talented owner Tamar went above and beyond and was so kind and accommodating throughout the entire process! She executed my vision/ideas perfectly! I really wanted roses instead of orchids and she made it happen, even with such short notice. She was also receptive to all the other details I requested and kept in constant communication. Both orders were two digit number cakes and turned out stunning! For my recent one, it was my sister's 40th Birthday and I really wanted something special, unique and memorable! This cake exceeded expectations! It was beautiful and delicious and my sister absolutely loved it! In fact, everyone at the dinner party kept raving about it too. Tamar also included a pack of candles which was a nice surprise. Such a beautiful way to me to always remember the start of 34 My kids attacked the toppers of goodies and LOVED everything. I'm so glad I stumbled upon Tropicakes on Instagram. The skull cake was amazing and so perfect for Halloween! Their cakes are not really like a cake (which isn't a bad thing), more of a shortbread cookie with the most delicious vanilla bean whipped cream filling. It wasn't too sweet at all, reminds me of Japanese desserts. Loved their attention to detail. The raspberries were super fresh and even dusted with glitter and glaze! I am always skeptical with food that looks this perfect because I think they slack on the taste but let me put you on one, THEY TASTE AMAZING. The frosting?! It's not sickly sweet so I literally can't stop myself from devouring way more than I should. The business really takes care by easy communication and listening to the ideas to customize to your special occasion. They are understanding and grateful for the business so they are sure to put 110% effort and care into each arrangement. Found about Tropicakes online and was speaking with owner via text message. The communication and customization was fantastic! She gave me ample time and decisions on what I could do for the cake for my GF. I ordered the cake a few weeks in advanced on mainland and had someone pick it up it for me due to it being a surprise. 100/10, flavor was fantastic, the cream she uses is not overly sweetened with sugary, the "cake" was soft and delicious; design was overall what I wanted for my gf. I HIGHLY recommend that if anyone wants a numeral cake GET THIS ONE RIGHT HERE IMMEDIATELY. The key thing that everyone likes on a cake is the design and this did not miss a beat on what I asked for, (pineapple theme), all toppings are included in the cake except for the cookie banner that additional cost and WORTH IT for personalization. Amazing cake! It was absolutely beautiful, and not only that... it tasted amazing. Not too sweet, just enough sweetness actually. Very light cream, and yummy cookie. It was like a sugar cookie cake! It had a decent mixture of fruits and other treats decorated on the cake. It was seriously super cute, and very well made. Definitely put together very neatly. I appreciate the little details put into the decorations. On the day of pick up, I received text message picture of the cake. This was pretty thoughtful considering I wasn't the one who picked up the cake (I was at work) so it was nice to get a preview of the cake prior to pick up. It was so easy to order the cake on their website. I was communicated thoroughly by text on time and place of cake pick up. The cake composed of 2 layers of shortcake/soft butter cookie sheet and delicious cream, topped with fun toppings, exactly as in their website. It look even prettier in person. I ordered medium cake (2 numbers) with name banner for my daughter 12th birthday, costed $129.84 with tax. I was even gifted a whole pack of sparkling fun candles! The owner responded in a timely manner, great communication, reliable & even had the cake delivered to the hotel prior to my arrival to Hawaii. The ordering process was seamless, with a quick turnaround of about 3 days if I remember correctly. The cake I ordered was gorgeous. The only reason I took a star off is because the cake itself was lacking in flavor in my opinion. Perhaps it's because I wanted a light cream/gold theme which warranted primarily vanilla flavors. The "cake" is also less of a cake and more of a shortbread, so if you're looking for a softer traditional cake, look elsewhere. I don't know that I'd spend all this money again given the flavor, but if you're going for that particular look, they knocked it out of the park on aesthetics. read more

Definitely recommend!!! Easy to order, was able to get it delivered and the cake was super yummy!!!! The details of the cake, colors, design, flowers etc was perfect. Additional cost for the name on top, and also diff prices depending on the size of the cake but it was worth it. Will order again from them soon. :) read more

I haven't been this impressed by a business in a long time! I needed a special surprise cake to be delivered for a bride and groom who gave me less than a day's notice about their Covid-restricted last minute courthouse wedding. Tamara worked with me to provide a pineapple-shaped cake that was deemed too beautiful to cut yet so delicious that the happy couple couldn't stop eating it! An initial phone call followed by a few text messages and then even photos of the finished creation and finally a delivery confirmation. Who gives this kind of customer service? Fantastic! Please support this wonderful business because they have managed to impress some very well-traveled dessert aficionados with their creativity and efficiency. read more

She is super quick and professional in replying. She handcrafts all her zephyrs - no molds here! She can do carnations, hydrangeas, matthiola, lilies, chrysantheums, and more. I chose an assortment of flowers to be done in boxes as I wanted to easily share marshmallows with my loved ones while celebrating. Zarina can make bouquets if you want too! Zarina also makes cakes and cookies. She can do honey cake (medovik), meringue roll cake, pavlova cake, and classic biscuit cake with different fillings, layers, and creams. I'm huge on layers so you know I ordered a honey cake. It is not an easy cake to make and I was soooo impressed with how this came out. It was decadent, moist, and melted in my mouth. Waited until 12:50pm and had to leave. She wrote back saying she was rushing and "these things take time". Why let me know when I drove 40 minutes to the pick up spot???? If you know you aren't able to make it by the pick up time then why not give me a different window time for pick up or offer delivery? There was no way for me to drive back to Kapolei before my daughters party. I paid $377 for absolutely nothing. She didnt even offer to drop it off to me after making me wait for 50 minutes.

The macarons were my least favorite especially the yuzu and passion fruit flavors that didn't taste anything like those fruits. For $2.50 I wish they were better and not as dry. I am glad I tried them but the prices were a bit much for me.
