I bought a spicy mango chutney. She has drinks as well as homemade goodies in the refrigerated section. Mountain apple pie, homemade pesto, and even eggs that her chickens laid! We only wanted a cake for us two for the cake cutting part of the reception so we chose the smaller heart-shaped cake with vintage piping. We love frogs and Angel frosted the most delightful frog couple for the cake. Our coconut cake with vanilla frosting looked so charming and suited our love so well. I liked that she offered delivery so that was one less thing to stress about for the day-of our wedding, knowing it would be taken care of. My latest find was at the New Year's Ohana Festival at Japanese Cultural Center Hawaii to celebrate the year of the horse and was so happy to have found Chibi Confectionery here as well. I just couldn't resist their shortbread cookies and they were Sakura shaped (eeeeeee!) super adorable and each are topped with various flavored glazed and I just couldn't decided but ended up with Guava, Lilikoi and the two very last Shikuwasa which is an Okinawan citrus that's a favorite of mom's and as it's all started to sell out I knew I had to snatch the opportunity. The staff is very friendly and helpful even offering to pack my delicate cookies in their super cute box which does make it perfect for gift giving as well oohh I also grabbed a bag of their mini bites in black sesame and have yet to try them but loved the shortbread cookies the cutest little bites are explosive in flavor as it made celebrating the energetic vibe of this amazing 'Ohana Festival worth every moment. There was a small assortment of cupcakes and other desserts like pumpkin crunch. We purchased the pumpkin crunch which had a nice flavor to it. The pecans in the crust added a good crunchy texture to contrast with the soft filling and topping. The three layers blended together in a cohesive, delicious way. The Mario Bros cake was chocolate with butter cream icing, the cake was a bit dry but and the decos were falling before the party started, so now I know not to go with this type is frosting. But the decoration on this one was so nice my son did not want to cut into it. A few days later by the request of coworkers I ordered another cake for a surprise for my commander, all I told Rowena was make the cake into the rank. Everyone at my work were very impressed, it turned out beatiful. The cake was a vanilla cake which btw was perfect with fresh strawberries inbetween the layers. The frosting sweetness was perfect! This cake was gone in just a few mins because everyone wanted more than seconds.
