Cake Works was amazing to work with for our wedding dessert bar! Delivery was right on time and completely seamless, making the entire process stress-free. We provided the stands and display pieces, and our coordinator set everything up after delivery. We loved that we were able to customize our cake shooters to fit exactly what we wanted. Our dessert bar included red velvet mini cupcakes, devil's food mini cupcakes, guava strawberry cake shooters, strawberry s'more tarts, and Rice Krispies treats. Everything was absolutely delicious--and that's coming from someone who usually doesn't even like wedding cake! Our personal favorite was the strawberry s'more tart, which was a huge hit with our guests as well. If you're looking for delicious desserts and a reliable team for your wedding, we highly recommend Cake Works! read more

I appreciate that they have different flavors, but the cakes were dry and not as delicious as we expected. Very disappointed with the quality and changes in flavors. It was delicious when they were from the "Girls Who Bake", but sadly everything is different and it's not good anymore. * 2.5 stars I have a Asian style review, Three stars: good/average Four starts: delicious, I would recommend Five stars: very delicious/great, I highly recommend, I would go back to eat read more

Beautiful cakes!!! My friend was having a 50th birthday. This place has great reviews of course I use yelp to find places. So we tried it out. We ordered from here and unfortunately the cake seemed old and dry. You know what's the best part about a business? When we can share honest feedback and they responded so apologetic, of course unsure how this happened. They worked with us to ensure that we were comfortable with the outcome. They offered money back but we wanted a new cake. Location of this is across Humane society so it's pretty easy to find! This time the cake was beautiful, the frosting was shiny and it was a rich and tasty cake. So the good news is we got to celebrate TWICE!!! It was super great that this place took our feedback so well... a huge BONUS!!! read more

Back again for a custom dessert order but this time for a memorial service instead of a baby shower. My family member in charge of ordering the cake called multiple bakeries before asking me for a recommendation and of course--mine was Cake Works! She wanted a very specific cake that was reminiscent of our grandmother's favorite cake of all time-pineapple upside down cake. The challenge was that she wanted the pineapple to be crushed so as to make serving easier. Cake Works was the only bakery that was willing to do this for us and how special it was. The cake was delicious, moist, full of pineapple flavor and it was beautiful. I am so grateful to Cake Works for fulfilling our dream cake for the memorial. On top of all that, the service was just impeccable. They were so kind and helped me arrange the cake in my car when picking it up with my new baby in tow! We are so thankful for everything. read more

I wanted to find some cupcakes impromptu to celebrate my anniversary. I happened upon their Yelp page and decided to check it out. It's on a very busy corner and parking is tricky. From the outside it looked closed but I found the entrance all the way to the right. It was kind of dark inside. they had a display case of colorful cupcakes and macarons. I picked out a few from what was left and then started a conversation with one of the employees. I talked with her and the owner for about half an hour, just enjoying conversation. I took the cupcakes home and my family enjoyed them. I don't know much about their cakes or macarons but I can say that their cupcakes are solid and the people are friendly. read more

A Pup-tastic Day Made Even Sweeter! After a heart-melting visit to the Hawaiian Humane Society in Honolulu (seriously, we wanted to take all the pups home), we spotted the cutest little cake shop across the street--Cake Works--and decided to treat ourselves. Best. Decision. Ever. From the moment we walked in, the sweet smell of freshly baked goodies had us wagging our tails (well, almost). The cupcakes were perfectly frosted, the macarons were melt-in-your-mouth magic, and everything looked like it came straight out of a dessert dream. We picked up a few cupcakes that were almost too cute to eat--almost--and sat outside to enjoy our little cake break. It was the cherry on top of a paw-sitively perfect day. If you're in the area visiting furry friends or just craving something sweet, Cake Works is the spot. Can't wait to come back--next time, maybe with a pup of our own in tow! read more

Cake Works is amazing! I love their work. We had them make our wedding almost 9 years ago, and we went with them again for another life event celebration, my husband's retirement from the Navy Reserves. Christine made the process so easy - from designing the cake, to selecting flavors. The final product was AMAZING. Everyone loved the cake at the party. We had to have Deadpool "get crushed" by the cake again, because it was fun at our wedding. Hands down, best custom cakes I've ever had. Definitely recommend them for a huge event. Thank you so much, Cake Works, for the excellent work. read more

I've been to Cake Works several times to buy Mink macaroons over the years. We have also ordered birthday cakes here for friends but I haven't tried anything from Cake Works till recently. Anyone who knows me knows that I'm not a huge dessert fan which is why I haven't tried anything from here. The only reason I tried a slice of their cake was because Mink went out of her way to throw me a surprise birthday party and ordered me a sloth cake from here. The funniest part of this rather pricey cake is that literally 5 minutes before I arrived at the surprise party, a friend's son decided to play with it when his parents looked away for a minute. His parents freaked out and tried to repair the damage the best they could. He's only a little over 1 year old and kids will be kids. Mink and I couldn't stop laughing when we heard what happened. It was super cute and his little contribution to the party lol. After all the effort from everyone, I ate a slice of the cake. Since I'm not a cake expert, I couldn't tell you if it was good or not but it was special and I enjoyed it. Now I have a story about the cake and a new hilarious memory. Thank you to Mink for this very special sloth cake. Also, thank you to Cake Works for making this cake for my birthday and for consistently providing good customer service. We will definitely be back to order more cakes in the future for our friends. read more

Cake Works is a fantastic bakery with quality products and great service! We wanted a small cake for a gender reveal and had about two weeks notice. Christine was fantastic and totally willing to work with us on pick up date and style. The cake turned out exactly as I imagined it, and the whole thing was delicious! Prices were on par with other bakeries we queried. The small cake easily served six people (multiple servings in some cases!) and we had about half the cake left over. The website and online client portal are easy to navigate and you can just use email if that works better for you too. The physical store is located in that awkward King Street H1 off ramp area. Try some of their other baked goods while you're there! The lilikoi bar was tasty! We'll definitely be coming back for our next big event! read more

For our wedding, we were looking for a single tier cutting cake and a wide array of yummy mini desserts for our dessert table. Cake Works delivered on all of these things and more, providing excellent customer service right from the get-go! From consultation to wedding day, the entire process felt seamless thanks to Cake Works's quick communication and attention to detail. It was also really easy to arrange for a sample tasting and add things to our order after the initial invoice, such as the birthday cupcake and candle we got to surprise one of our bridesmaids during the reception. In case you're wondering which mini desserts to get for your dessert table, we got the mini creme brulees, the raspberry lemon delice, the mini fruit tarts, the caramel macadamia nut chocolate tarts, and the mini cake shooters (strawberry guava--the same flavor as our cake). We enjoyed the mini desserts we did get to snag and assumed that our guests really enjoyed the rest because they were snatched right up! Thank you again, Cake Works! read more

I believe the price I paid for the cake was far too high for what I received. I spent nearly $300 for a 6-inch round cake with basic piping, and the specific design request I made , which had been confirmed in advance , was not fulfilled upon pickup. Instead, they scrambled to find an alternative flower to replace the one I originally requested, yet I was still charged the full amount with no refund or partial credit offered. Afterward, the person I spoke with admitted she had misunderstood my request over the phone and acknowledged the mistake. Despite this, no resolution was provided. Unfortunately, I will not be ordering from them again, as I can get a higher-quality product for that price elsewhere. I only went with them this time because it was the birthday girl's specific request. read more

Mahalo for the free macarons on my birthday! I chose lichee, mango, blue Hawaii, peppermint chocolate, and salted caramel. The macarons were all nicely crispy on the outside and tender inside, with flavorful fillings. I also tried the decorated gingerbread cookie and hot cocoa cupcake. The cookie was almost too pretty to eat, and had a nice lingering ginger warmth. The hot cocoa cupcake had a moist, dense crumb that really tasted like cocoa, topped with a toasted marshmallow cream. Hope to stop by again soon! read more

Usually for my grandfathers birthday I always bake him a cake. However, since this year he turned 80, I wanted to get him a really nice cake. His request this year was for German Chocolate. Since we still live in COVID life, we didn't plan a big party, just immediate family. Cake Works was really easy to work with. I submitted my cake request on their website. Wow all my regular places I go yearly I have not reviewed???? Oh oh my....I've been coming to this place for several years off and on, but in recent have discovered their hot chocolate cake for christmas and its been our dessert table stable for 2 years, not to mention I love their ginger bread cookies. Order online or you can walk in, ample parking just a little funky to get to. They always have a person at the counter to service you if not somone comes up quick quickly. If not, you can browse their shelves of baked goods. We've tried their Hot chocolate cake, cupcakes, macaroons and bagged cookies, our favorite is their cake. Unfortunately, this past christmas the cake was not as moist as previous years, not sure what happened, but still was good, just not as moist as past. Their other products are good and their decorations on their cakes and other baked goods are so so pretty. This location is the former Ted's (thats giving my age) renovated to a bakery, so you can actually walk in and check out the goods, versus the original Teds it was only take out windows (which are still there too). It's outside is okay, needs a good deep clean and maybe fresh paint on the exterior but the inside is okay, just a neighborhood bakery. read more

DO NOT ORDER FROM HERE. Since I had the $62 gift certificate from the last cake being a complete fail, I gave it to my sister and she ordered these 10 cupcakes in a cake for our other sisters birthday. They were given some creative freedom but were asked to put specific flowers. Creative freedom is one thing, but this is just ugly. A friend from high school used to work here and said their custom cake person left and she was really good. Was also informed that they don't have expiration dates on their stocks and will use fillings and such much longer than they should until they mold or smell bad. My questions are, why do they still offer custom cakes, at high prices, when they obviously cannot deliver what the customers want, and produce extremely poor results? And, how do they have the audacity to send out cakes that look like they were made blindfolded and with no training in the kitchen at all? Seriously, if you're thinking about ordering from this place, don't. Order from anyone else or just make a homemade one, it will turn out 10x better than what they would give you. We have this place another chance after the first ugly cake because I had the gift certificate and didn't want to waste money already spent, but we just wasted another $40 because they overcharge on those ugly 10 cupcakes for $100! read more

Was very excited for a custom cake from Cake Works and unfortunately left shocked that they would decorate a cake like this and then proceed to give it to a customer. Ordered a cupcake cake from my sister's birthday, with 3 Hawaiian flowers. After leaving the store, I sat in the car for a few minutes still so shocked and confused at this cake. It was not visually pleasing at all and $100. I brought it home and showed my 4 yo niece who said "I don't like it." What toddler doesnt like cake??When I brought it would for cake time, everyone made comments about how it definitely was not worth $100, and asked why the cake looked the way it did. They even joked that there was a rambutan fruit on the cake. No one wanted to eat it. Only the birthday girl tried 1 cupcake. $100 for 10 cupcakes that didn't look nice or appealing. Customer service over the phone was great. When I expressed that my sister would not like this cake after seeing it in-store,the employee said that they were not usual flowers for cakes and that my sister can just eat the cupcakes... lol read more

Cake Works - $100 cake (10 cupcakes) /: - Bakeries Near Me - Honolulu, Hawaii

$ aside, Cake Works creates some wonderful, delicious cakes & cupcakes! Their carrot cakes are apparently very popular, so we chose to get that, and it was a big hit! Big on flavor, nice and moist, authentic cream cheese icing, not to mention beautiful presentation. We also tried 3 of their cupcakes: lilikoi, strawberry guava, and carrot cake. All we delectable! They also posed very nicely on the coffee table for our guests. The not a "cupcake guy", but everyone thought they were great! I was pleasantly surprised to find the lilikoi cupcake filled with a lilikoi jelly in the middle, so there's that. A note about their location: it's actually VERY EASY to get to, just spend a minute looking at the map. Not a conventional location for sure, so don't expect simple intuition to get you there. Coming from Ewa direction on King St, a dedicated U-turn makes it almost idiot-proof. From H1 even easier IF you make that 1st right-hand turnoff on the King St exit (Yes, take THAT turn!). idk about coming from Diamond Head direction. read more

Cake tasted amazing and was simple yet beautiful. The florals on the cake were exactly what we wanted.

Amazing little bakery with an assortment of delectables. I came to buy some cupcakes for a birthday and they had a great varsity. I ended up picking up some haupia, strawberry guava, and red velvet. I would highly recommend the strawberry guava. I was helped by one of the employees whom was really helpful. I asked what was their popular flavors and she chose these, so I bought what was recommended. My friend highly enjoyed his birthday cupcakes. It's a nice little bakery, parking out front is limited and very close to an on ramp, so sometimes it's difficult to turn into the stalls. So just a heads up. I will definitely come back to buy more cupcakes in the future! read more

My parents finally decided to officially tie the knot after 32 years...and of course they said -- we want to do this next week! And while they didn't want a lot of fussing about it -- you can't have a proper wedding without a wedding cake. So when I found myself needing a small custom cake with a week's notice -- I went to Cake Works. I had never been to Cake Works but I would see it on Yelp and drive by it all the time. I went in and was warmly greeted by the staff. I explained the situation and said navy blue and gold were our chosen colors. I chose vanilla cake and then ordered some small mini cupcakes in the various flavors they offer so that there was some flavor options. I went to pick it up and loved what they ended up with!
