Empty restaurant on a Saturday night
    Bethany M.

I'm done with this place - this is the second time that we've placed an order for pickup and been kept waiting 30+ minutes past the designated pickup time. Tonight the restaurant is virtually empty, but the excuse is "we had a large party come in." If that's the case, I don't see said large party? And also: don't accept takeout orders that you can't fulfill on time. This is just bad service. I have eyes, I can see. You have TWO round tables seated.

Came here for dinner and the food was okay. We found the dishes to be a bit on the bland side which was a little disappointing. I like how they had a variety of dishes to choose from though. The service was nice and they were really attentive on checking up on us and refilling our tea pot. I would come back here again to try out their dim sum since that's what they are mainly known for.

The egg tofu dish was incredible! It was so savory and flavorful and it made me eat the broccoli because it was so good covered in the sauce. I felt so healthy. The food came out fast and the service was efficient. The ambiance of the place was festive and authentic - I would definitely come back to try the dim sum!

Went back here for their dinner dishes and it did not disappoint! I can still say that this is the best Chinese restaurant in the Shoreline / North Seattle area. All the dishes that we ordered were so good, this includes the pecking duck, crispy pan fried noodle, and Mongolian beef. The duck was so crispy that paired so well with the bun, hoisin sauce, and sliced green onion. The Mongolian beef was so tender with perfect sweet and savory taste, and I loved the onions that were sautéed with the beef. The crispy pan fired noodle was very crispy and delicious, though needed a bit of soy sauce and chili oil to flavor it up. Overall, I'm super impressed and will be back. The service was also excellent and food came out quick even on a weekend.

Big portions, authentic dishes and delicious flavors. Be prepared for your dishes to come out at random times. At dinner there's no dim sum. Our dishes were uniformly hot and delicious. Servers were mostly fine. I ordered an Arnold Palmer because it's on the menu but the server must have thought I was kidding (?) because he laughed and didn't bring it. I'm happy to return as long as I don't have to wait - luckily the lines have died down, at least for dinner. Chicken with vegetables had excellent veggies. No fillers like water chestnuts. It had Bok choy, zucchini, broccoli. Ma po tofu had fresh peas but could have had more flavor. Highlight was the Pan-fried Beef Vermicelli With Black Pepper Sauce. A unique dish!

Favorite in the top right - crab, scallop, and shrimp dumpling

It's hard for me to give five stars for a dim sum spot but I do enjoy Triumph a lot. Great to see that they opened a location in Shoreline so I can avoid driving all the way to Kent. Overall, service and atmosphere were good. Food wise, the dumplings are fairly large compared to what I grew up eating and the dumpling skin is thicccc. The dim sum quality is just okay. Everything felt a bit overcooked because the thick dumplings would break apart as soon as we grabbed them with our chopsticks. The flavors were good though - my favorite dish today was their crab, scallop, and shrimp dumpling. Since there aren't a lot of dim sum spots north of the ID, I'd continue coming back here.

Came on Saturday @ 1pm - no wait, seated immediately. Pot of jasmine green tea is $4. What I loved is you order through a tablet, so no miscommunications & able to view photos of the food. The shrimp dumplings are HUGE! I normally can eat 2 servings but could only eat one since double in size. Tasted great, the spare ribs too! The pork shu mai tasted very fishy, wasn't great. Some folks said the dishes were expensive, but I'd say it was average price for dim sum. We would come again!

Came here with the friends for dim sum. On a Sunday we came at 11am there were three tables ahead of us so the wait was minimal. We ordered from a tablet. I love that so we can be quick. We got shu mai, chicken feet, egg tart hk style, bbq pork pastry and bun, seaweed roll, jade crispy shrimp cheung fun, century egg congee, radish cake, scallop and shrimp dumpling, eggplant shrimp, and the glutinous rice with chicken. So the not so good or meh- the eggplant with shrimp was bland. The bbq pork bun and pastry were both not outstanding. I like the bbq pork to be a bit sweeter. The scallop and shrimp dumpling had almost no scallop so tasted like a har gau, which is fine but not what I was expecting. The decent- the eggplant tart was flaky but the pastry layers are a bit thick, so the pastry was a bit oily. But the custard was good. The congee was kind of nice, not fishy or salty but hope it had more century egg in it. The shu mai was good, like average good shumai. The radish cake was also good, good flavor and not too oily. The good- the jade shrimp cheung fun is what I think is special here and loved the fried dough with shrimp in the cheung fun. Overall, good dim sum!

Finally got to try this place because there was such a long wait before. Tip: they said they're low time is around 11 AM or 1 PM. And they say you can call in for a reservation for groups larger than six. Food: everything was pretty good. We got the basics just to try out all the different options. They ha gow (shrimp dumplings) were really big and plump and juicy so that was really good. Their shumai was really yummy as well and really large. We splurged on the truffle shumai and they were worth it. We especially like the pineapple pork pie. And their Portuguese egg tarts were really yummy as well. We did encounter an issue where one of the buns were not steamed properly so they were cold inside and once we told them, they resteamed it and gave us a complementary dish as well. Another thing was the chicken feet was not seasoned as well as I would like and I think they could've that longer as well to make it more tender. Pricing was pretty reasonable and so I will definitely go back and try more of their dishes and maybe even their dinner options too.

Food was good. We got to try some items we don't typically see or order at other dim sum places. Like the crispy shrimp green rolls and deep fried taro balls with pork. They had a lot of other truffle and specialty items on the menu we look forward to trying next time. Service was great the Thai lady at the front of the house was super friendly. She let us know the dim sum wasn't all day on weekends which is good info! We went on a Saturday afternoon and there was no wait for a group of 3 although almost every table was full. Prices leaned higher but you do get better portions and service than TnT seafood. Around $95 for 7 items.

This place surprised us, it's got some fun items here as well as classics. It's a bit on the pricey side, but a nice splurge now and then. The portions are humongous too. Service was really friendly too. We got truffle Xiao long bao and a truffle shu mai. Opinions were mixed at our table whether the truffle flavor was present. Nice to try but of course pricier. We got ha gao and they were big, skin was nice and chewy. We also ordered the one that had scallops in it, was good but again massive. The beef chow fun was ok, gets a bit tough as it cools. The spinach infused buns were interesting. Shrimp rice rolls were classic. The purple yam mochi with salted egg yolk lived up to expectations. I'm not a huge lava egg yolk buns fan but it worked so well with the crispy and chewy texture of this and perfect balance of sweet and salty. The black and gold buns were not as good, didn't look very appetizing inside lol. Portuguese egg tart was interesting... Texture was unexpected. If you imagine it as an eggy short bread cookie then you'd like it. But If you're expecting a Portuguese egg tart then you'll be disappointed. The egg part also seemed over cooked. Overall, would come back for sure, just knowing some items are better than others

Garlic Honey Spareribs, Deep Fried Chive Dumplings, House Special Seafood Fried Rice
    Kristine G.

New Triumph Valley location up north. The interiors look nice and clean. We got the Deep Fried Chive Dumplings, Crispy Pork Intestine, String Beans w/ Garlic Sauce, House Special Seafood Fried Rice, and Garlic Honey Spareribs. Everything we ordered was good. Service could be improved though. Our string beans were forgotten and took long to get to our table even after we followed up. It also felt like we were forgotten and it was quite difficult to grab their attention to follow up on our order and to get our check.

This review is for those who are curious about dim sum but not sure what to order, and who come with an open mind. And also for the ones who tell me, "dim sum is overrated because it's not vegetarian/vegan-friendly and they don't do alternatives blah blah blah." Finally, a decent and authentic dim sum place in Shoreline! The restaurant is bright and clean, and the interior feels a bit different from other more traditional dim sum restaurants in Seattle. I've been craving beef stomach and chicken feet for a long time (yes people, some people in this planet still eat animal organs and feet). I'd say their dim sum is Cantonese-approved since I'm Cantonese myself. Not only that, their beef stomach in satay sauce is even better than some I had back in Shenzhen (a city full of tech bros and lacking in authentic traditional food like today's Seattle). It's juicy and tender, and the savory satay sauce with a little sweet touch, flavor bomb! If you can swallow a box of donuts, or six buttermilk pancakes with thick slices of bacon, I highly recommend you give the beef stomach a try. Like, bros, you've already got the guts and the courage to ignore diabetes and cholesterol, so beef stomach is really not that scary. Chicken feet in sauce, no need to say, perfecto, if you know you know. I did find the spareribs slightly different from what I had back home. The seasoning and flavor here are on point, but the meat texture isn't as silky and tender. It's also a bit porky. I feel like most pork dishes in the US have this issue, and I don't know why. If you're less adventurous, or more of a Mongolian beef, sweet n sour pork type, go with the beef chow fun or other noodle dishes. Simple and flavorful. I always prefer rice noodles over wheat noodles because they're softer, and the beef comes in a good cut and portion. The purple yam mochi with salted egg yolk is good too, if you love something gooey and yolk-y. To me they're the perfect dessert to end a dim sum meal. A bite of mochi, then a sip of pu'er tea, that's how you should end a dim sum brunch. Green beans can't go wrong if you're a desperate vegetarian just trying to find something to eat. Rice noodle over youtiao (aka Chinese donut) is a traditional dim sum item, but personally not my thing, I find it kinda boring. But again, good for the desperate vegetarian. Overall, I love the food I ordered here and will definitely come back to try more. Vegetarian life hack: If you're not that strict, like, you don't mind meat showing up in the dish as long as you don't eat it, then beef chow fun and other noodle dishes like Singapore style vermicelli or stir-fried udon can be tasty and filling. You can just push the meat aside. But if you try to customize a dish at a dim sum place the way you customize your avocado toast and kale salad in a trendy brunch spot, it might not end up well. And lastly, great service too, especially a friendly Cantonese-speaking staff member whose name starts with K (sorry I didn't see the name tag clearly). Super helpful!

I had a hankering for pork bao, which I hadn't had in a long time. They were decent. My girlfriend is vegetarian, so all other dishes were vegetarian: dry-fried string beans, general Tso's tofu, and hot and sour food. More than enough for the two of us, and very good and satisfying. Note: General Tso's is usually made with chicken and we asked if it could be made with tofu instead. They had no problem with the request. Portions are ginormous, so bring your appetite!

That's my favorite kind of dim sum restaurant, and this place absolutely delivers. From the moment we sat down, the carts were rolling by nonstop, stacked with steamers and fresh plates. There's just something special about being able to see everything before you choose, it makes the whole experience feel lively and traditional. I was SO excited when I spotted taro puff on one of the carts. Not every dim sum restaurant carries it, which is tragic because it's easily one of my favorite dishes. These were perfect. The had a crispy, lacy exterior with that light, fluffy taro filling inside and a savory center. I immediately grabbed a plate and was prepared to eat the entire thing if no one else wanted to try it. The siu mai was solid and flavorful, the har gow had a nice translucent wrapper with juicy shrimp inside, and the chicken feet were especially good. They were very tender, well seasoned, and cooked just right. The steamed spareribs were another standout. They were super flavorful and not overly fatty. Overall, this is exactly what I want in a dim sum experience with the bustling atmosphere, carts rolling around, and all my favorite classics (taro puff!). Everything was not only extremely fresh and delicious but for an incredible price. Visiting from California -- will definitely be back. Thank you Lisa for the incredible food and hospitality

Went to Asian Kitchen in north Seattle for a family dinner and had a mixed experience…read more Service was pretty slow, even though there were only a few smaller tables seated. It took a long time for the food to come out, and when our entrees finally arrived, we weren't given rice. We had to go ask for it so we didn't end up eating everything else first. It felt like they might be understaffed, which didn't help the overall experience. The appetizer platter was a bit disappointing. The honey walnut shrimp didn't really land for our table -- though I will say the crispy coating was interesting and I appreciated that they used actual walnuts. The entrees were better. The chow mein was my favorite -- great smoky wok flavor, well seasoned, and just really satisfying. The seafood clay pot was also solid, with shrimp, fish, and tofu. The beef broccoli was nicely cooked too, especially the broccoli with garlic. Overall, there are some good dishes here, but with how slow the service was, I'm not sure I'd pick this spot again.

I've been aware of the Seattle location because of the cute name, like mountain bao, but never visited. Lynnwood (Mill Creek) area is a bit more convenient, so decided to stop by. Kind service, mainly taking orders and dropping off food, but was pleasant. Green Beans - solid green beans! No meat but stir fried well. A bit pricey but a solid shareable portion. I'd love a version with some meat but I can appreciate being vegetarian friendly. Pan Fried Pork Bao - sadly no soup in this pan fried bao. I think there was too much bread because everything was very doughy while the actual pork was tiny in comparison. If there was more meat then maybe the extra large dough would be okay. On the bright side I guess this is a filling item with the carbs. Xiaolongbao - Unfortunately, 2 out of 8 XLB were ripped and the soup spilled in the steamer. Those ones were extremely sad and disappointing. However, even the remaining 6 XLB didn't have that much soup. I would skip the XLB here which sucks because the place literally has bao in the name. Shu Mai - tasty, hearty, comfy, and satisfies the craving perfectly. Large and scrumptious, as delicious as any dim sum spot. Highly recommend because I was shocked, not expecting much.
