    Street Toast

We were in the area for groceries and decided to stop by Bapmukja for a quick lunch after seeing the Eater recommendation for this place. I'm not a huge fan of the strangely green lighting in the interior since it makes it kind of difficult to see the food. At any rate, ordering was pretty fast and we got our food pretty quickly. Street Toast ($9.99) - I've never had this dish before. Definitely interesting to try, with a slice of ham, a kind of egg frittata filled with julienned veggies, and cabbage mixed in a sweet and tangy mayo dressing on toasted bread. The bottom piece of toast becomes a bit soggy very quickly - I think this dish would be better served with the sandwich resting on the crust rather than the bread face. They dip the edges of the bread into sugar, enhancing the sweetness a bit, which actually works quite well in the sandwich. It's surprisingly filling. (4/5) Rose Tteokbokki ($14.99) - The pictures make this dish look deceptively small - it's actually a large portion of rice cakes in a creamy, milky, stew-like sauce. The rice cakes are cooked perfectly, allowing a very good chewy quality that isn't too firm or too soft. They are of a larger variety than the usual rice cakes logs I've had in the past, adding to how filling this dish is. The rice cakes are topped with large crumbles of thick-cut smoky bacon, adding a salty burst to the dish. The sauce is exceptionally luxurious and thick with a light spiciness and fermented taste from gochujang. The cream tempers the spice paste down so that the spice level is more than just a tingle, but not overwhelming. Thanks to the richness of this dish, it's easily enough to feed two people just by itself. (5/5) The portions sizes served at Bapmukja are large and filling. I would visit again, especially for the tteokbokki. Bathrooms - Single unisex room

Since my first time coming here when they were just newly opened, I came back so many times. It ended up becoming one of my go to spots when I was still living in Washington. Since moving out of state, it was one of the food places I missed. I visited recently and this was one of my must visit places since being back. I'm so glad I did because it's still as good as ever. Food is excellent. Comfortable and chill atmosphere. Perfect place to hang out and catch up with a friend. And customer service was amazing - above and beyond as usual. There was something I used to always order but it's no longer on their menu. When I asked about it, he was still happy to make it for me which made me so happy because that was one of the main things I missed most about this place. A great experience as usual. This will always be on my list of places to go to whenever I'm back to visit Washington.

Interior is small with many tables squeezed in. No line on a Sunday afternoon. There were few options for alcoholic drinks (thought they had cocktails) with only 2 soju. Decided on makgeolli which was served in an attractive wooden set. Fried platter, tteokbokki, and kimbap all tasted good. Although tbh I felt I could get the same at H mart. Didn't realize tteokbokki would have ramen (thought this was called rapokki). Niece tried thwarted bulgogi bowl and said it was ok.

This is a great spot for Korean street food! The staff was friendly, it was slow for a Friday night but definitely a great atmosphere. My husband and I ended up getting an order of the Rosé tteokbokki and three different types of kimbap -- bulgogi, spicy pork, and shrimp tempura. The tteokbokki pieces are HUGE and have the perfect texture. Definitely a meal you can share or have plenty for leftovers. Our favorite kimbap was the bulgogi, followed by the shrimp, and lastly the spicy pork. They give you 10 pieces per order so there's plenty to go around. We ended up paying around $50 for the tteokbokki and kimbap combo, two additional kimbap, a beer and a soda. It was a great value as we basically had a whole other meal to take home. Overall, great spot and we'll totally be back!

We came here on a Wednesday evening for dinner. The restaurant was clean and nicely decorated. The staff was friendly and waited for us to finish our conversation and dinner, even though they closed at 8 pm. The Street Toast was a must-get--absolutely delicious! Overall, the prices were very reasonable. Parking was convenient, as there was a parking lot available.

We stumbled upon Bapmukja while looking up places to eat and are so glad we chose this one. The food was absolutely delicious and packed with flavor--every bite hit. You can tell a lot of care goes into the dishes. The ambience was super friendly and such a vibe, perfect for hanging out and enjoying the experience, not just the food. A huge bonus was the pop-up coffee and specialty Korean drinks--such a fun touch and honestly elevated the whole visit. Definitely a spot I'll be coming back to!

Cute place, tucked away in a small plaza with other restaurants. When my friend and I came for lunch, there was no one else here. We had the street toast and steak kimbap. I didn't see what the hype was about the toast, It was nothing special but not bad, good ratio of bread to filling and a good amount of sauce. Kimbap was good but I've had better. The restaurant offers seating, water and plenty of parking.

This place offers some delicious Korean street food, some of which are the staples that are fairly ubiquitous like tteokbokki, kimbap, mandu, etc but some of which are not as easy to find surprisingly, like gimmari and street toast. My friend and I went here just a little before 8pm to find that we actually almost missed the main food menu that is 12-8pm, as the place opens up as a bar with nighttime offerings after that until closing. We tried the steak kimbap, spicy tuna kimbap, side platter (gimmari, mandu, shrimp tempura), and street toast. The kimbap is fairly delicious and quite filling, with the right distribution of ingredients. It would be nice to have a beef bulgogi kimbap, but the steak is still quite good. The spicy tuna is quite interesting with the spicy spice, not the spicy tuna that you would expect in sushi. The gimmari is good - fried seaweed rolls with glass noodles inside. The mandu has nice filling, and the shrimp tempura was fairly standard. I love the street toast - very large portions with egg and ham inside. I would definitely get this again if I come back. Food came out fairly quickly. This place overall does it well with portions versus price and quality.

I ordered Spicy Pork Bowl. The overall is good. However, the egg is super salty & spicy pork is salty. I came here few months ago, I couldn't recall if they were salty or not, but today, it made me cringed. The service is fast, staff is friendly. I come on weekday for lunch, the restaurant is quite. It may also due to hidden location, less traffic. Everytime I came, I thought the restaurant is closed. It has OPEN sign but it's behind dark window.

When you miss eating food on the street in Korea, this is the place to go. They have many different "street foods" like Kimbap, street toast, and ddukbokki. When I ordered food the service was good and the ambiance was a cute lunch place type vibe. My thoughts on the food... Tempura shrimp kimbap - delicious it was like if kimbap and tempura shrimp sushi had a baby Street toast - delicious close to Isaac toast taste in Korea

Walked in and we were instantly greeted with a smile and great customer service. The spot is open with decent seating and very clean. We ordered two varieties of kimbap and they were both made fresh. It was delicious and flavorful and satisfying. I only wish I was closer because there is so much more on the menu I want to try. We will definitely be back when I'm the area.
