Every time my husband and I take the dogs hiking at Fort Ben we stop in for some beers at Triton since their patio is dog-friendly. We've never had a bad experience and this time was no different. Our server was so sweet and immediately brought out a big water bowl for the dogs and gave us her favorite beer recommendations. Since it had briefly rained earlier in the day there were only a couple of other people who opted to sit on the patio, so it was really peaceful. We tried a little bit of everything since they offer several beer sizes. I tried all of the sours (the green tea + guava is my favorite to get in the summer) and my husband had several of their IPAs. Triton Brewing Company I had and was a part of my lost series that was once deemed unrecoverable due to a destroyed phone but was later recovered thanks to physical notes that were recovered. The beer I had was the Magnificent Amber. Another amber ale as I was drinking a lot of those back then. Flavor highlights is a hoppy sharpness, a toasty malt flavor and a caramel finish. On this most recent visit, I chose the burger with added crispy bacon and pepper jack cheese. It was fantastic. Juicy and flavorful. Loved the toasted bun as well. The side was crispy fries. Triton has some of the best fries around. I love the salt and cracked black pepper. Triton has been my neighborhood haunt for the last 9 years. I've spent over $12k at this place over the years. While the burger is always solid, much of their menu is a miss. It's like home to me so I would love to see them add some new items to their menu and be more receptive to long-time customer feedback. For example, adding some flatbread pizzas would be a great addition (and should offer a good profit margin). More traditional, better tasting wings with sauce options (the smoked wing sections are dry and not what you expect when wanting pub wings). Their weekly specials are largely just combinations of existing offerings using the same ingredients; would be nice to get some truly new creations. Breaded things here are more like donuts that trap way too much oil and are very heavy. I'd love to see them bring in a tastier, lighter breading. Also, some shade outside would be amazing. Some table umbrellas or large canopy like Blind Owl's outdoor area. read more

This is a nice place in the Lawrence area. They have outside seating and they are pet friendly. We only tried the beer and it was quite tasty. My husband loves their rail splitter so that was his go-to choice. I had the flight and landed on the Hometown Hero Strawberry. It was very refreshing! The Sunrise Farmhouse Ale was very good too. Good service. We were taken very good care of and are glasses were never empty. Yeah!! They are tapping the Blood Orange Ale the weekend of May 4th!! read more

Very chill place. It's in an old stable that was on base & said to even possibly be haunted. We went and talked to the servers while we tried some different brews. My favorite was the Blueberry Sour & the Green Tea with Guava sour. Neither were sour sour like some I have tried- but so full of flavor! We are traveling through on our way to Wisconsin and found this spot from Harvest Host. What an interesting spot on the grounds of an old military base. Decent industrial decor and they have an outside patio that is dog friendly. We had a flight and a half to try as many beers as possible ( a total of nine). My beer partner liked every beer he sampled. And thus it gets a rare 5 stars. And it's in an old army mule barn, with ghosts. Good food the nachos were loaded with yummy pulled pork and heavy duty chips and lots of fresh jalapeños. We had plantain tacos which came with a side of very good onion rings, crispy and properly fried.The tacos were a mix of sweet and savory. Soft sweet plantains with greens dressed with vinaigrette and pickled onions on top. The flour tortillas were a bit charred. I would like to have this on corn tortillas. Stopped in to Triton for a meet up with some friends in town for a wedding. After we realized the Triton Tap in Broad Ripple is...closed ‍ The first thing that stood out was the service. There were enough of us to fill the whole left side of the small room, including a few kids. The staff was super friendly, super patient, and remembered our drinks and food! I was impressed. I didn't personally eat but the food looked and smelled amazing. The taproom as a whole had a cool vibe, not too loud, with a big window to show off the equipment. It's also nestled among the shops and homes in Fort Ben and adds a nice ambiance to the area. read more

I'm not sure how to explain the fact that it's taken me so long to try Triton Brewing Company since it's fairly close to my Lawrence Township home and I frequent the Fort Ben area. For quite a while, I assumed it was simply a brewery and since I'm not much of a drinker it was simply never worth a special stop. However, they've added a bistro and despite having checked out their website multiple times it's taken me until today to finally make it. As noted, Triton is primarily a brewery. It's located in what used to be a mule barn on the old Fort Harrison. It's a growing area and a bit of a gem area for decent restaurants. You will find almost exclusively Triton brews and other products here with the exception of a handful of guest selections. Fortunately, they have a decent variety of brews and it shouldn't be hard for beer drinkers to find something that appeals to them. Triton adapted fairly quickly to the pandemic including with available outside dining and tables nicely spaced. It seems like they attract mostly a neighborhood crowd which may explain why they haven't received a Yelp review in a while. There was a decent size crowd today, though it wasn't overwhelming and it remained well spaced my entire time present. They have a couple accessible parking spots on the side of the building, though they lack the metallic signs that would make them official. That said, I had no problem finding a spot up front. The side is also where the outside dining is, though you have to enter at the front (Wheeler Road) entrance. The double-sided glass door is a bit sticky, but I was able to maneuver it. The sidewalk and entry is accessible, while the brewery and indoor dining areas are level with a mixture of taller and traditional tables. There is, however, a single step up into the outside dining area from the inside, though you could go around to the side to access it where it is actually level. At the time I arrived, the primary table available was much larger than I needed but I was impressed they sat me there anyway instead of having me wait for something smaller. There is a hosting station right inside the door. Masks are still required and there's the typical (for now) sign advising that if you're sick you shouldn't enter. It seems like the servers trade-off attending to the hosting station which can cause momentary delays, but once service really gets started it's top notch. Callie met me at the hosting station and seemed a little thrown off to see this wheelchair user planning to drink/dine alone, but she was super friendly and naturally removed two chairs to give my wheelchair room (or she was telling me I'm fat. I choose to be optimistic). She would end up being my server. I ordered an 8-ounce beer called the Ale Pacino Moccacino, a milk brown ale collaboration with local Bee Roasters. It was absolutely sublime. I would easily order it again. It was my only beer for the day, though I did receive a glass of water. I also ordered the breaded tenderloin sandwich - it comes with house aioli, greens, tomato, and red onion on the side. The brioche bun is toasted. You also get fries or a couple other sides. You can get onion rings for an upcharge. The breaded tenderloin is most definitely not a fritter. It's much larger than the bun and pounded out with a nice thickness. The seasoning is just a touch light, but the moistness of the sandwich is wonderful. The fries are also seasoned and a decent amount. They ask if you want ketchup and put it in a cup (another pandemic safety action). The fries were good. When I saw them, they seemed a bit thin but the seasoning and flavor blend together nicely. Callie was attentive throughout without being obsessive. At one point, she took a little bit to get back to me with a check and apologized quite nicely and made sure to return with my receipt rather quickly. Triton is family friendly - I'd imagine it's certain areas, but I saw a couple families present including small children. The outdoor deck is quite nice. The interior weaves together a Triton-themed decor with a healthy respect for the military history of the area. Additionally, there's a cool banner for Indy Honor Flight which I loved. I also saw a couple dogs out on the deck. I could easily rate somewhere between 4-5 and 4.5 is probably more accurate than an actual 5. However, the food was delicious, I enjoyed my beer, and Callie was a tremendous server. So, 5 it is and I'll definitely be going back in the near future. read more

Popped in to grab a small bite on a sunny Sunday after a hike at nearby Fort Harrison, and sat outside on the patio. Excellent fish & chips made with their Hometown Hero Ale beer batter and can't say enough about the tarragon lemon aioli which was their take on tartar sauce...but way better! Pretty good food here. I got the pulled pork elote nachos. They were really good but do not come with any kind of salsa so I asked for some green salsa. The pulled pork bbq sandwich was really good and the bbq sauce has a zippiness that kinda sneaks up. Their fries are cut in-house it looks like and are cooked just right. Great place. Was in town for the Indy Half and went twice over the weekend. Tried multiple beers, made dog friends on the patio, and had some really good mac and cheese. ESB and Dead Eye stout were my favorites. The staff is friendly with the right amount of attentiveness for me, leaving me alone to enjoy my meal, but checking in when they noticed something running low. I really like this place, I'd stopped in a couple of times in the past, but had ever dined here. We had chips and salsa for an appetizer, and they were very good! Two choices of dip/salsa, and the perfect size for sharing for two people. The breaded tenderloin was fantastic! Perfectly breaded and fried, the breading was seasoned lightly, just enough to compliment the flavor of the meat without overwhelming it. The fries I chose as my side were good, but, honestly, pretty standard fries. There was a bit of an issue with our visit, though, and hopefully they'll figure out a way to fix it. Our dinner companion was a dear friend who is a wheelchair user. When he arrived, all the handicapped parking spaces had been replaced with outdoor seating. In addition, it was difficult to find a way to enter the patio area without going into the restaurant. The problem with that is, there's a set up to the patio with no ramp visible for him to access the patio. We finally found a way for him in, by me holding up a rope so he could wheel under it, but it was inconvenient at best, and actually quite challenging for someone with mobility issues. Such a fun place! They have a patio and inside dining. We sat inside and got to watch football on TV. They have a wide selection of in house beer and lots of food options. We opted for a few flights to try a few (strawberry was our favorite!) and an order of fish and chips and pretzels. All were fabulous! They will sell you everything from toilet paper and bleach and cleaning products to loafs of bread meat butcher meat and even veggies and fruit!! I've always loved their beer so it was time for something from the kitchen!(rubbing hands together diabolically). My dad went for the smoked pork tacos with fries! He said the tacos were a nice lunch meal to fill him up but not make him stuffed. They came with a peppery French fries side that was great!!! My sister got the west coast fried chicken salad it was good she said could've used a little more greens but that's debatable! I like a lot of extras on my salad and hers sure did! Fried avocado wedges and a great ranch dressing made the salad a home run! And then for me I went with the brioche bun burger with bacon and cheddar cheese! It was really good! And just the right size! I was full but not bursting full! Which is nice ! I had errands to run and it kept me fueled! We sat outside on the patio! Shaded and quiet! Great atmosphere! There are always multiple Gose's on tap so I enjoy getting a flight, and on our most recent visit there was an interesting hard lime soda. Last night was our first time going to Triton Brewing. It's a neat location with a cool backstory. It was a little chilly, but they have a nice patio where you can sit and enjoy a beer with your dog. We ordered a few beers and their BBQ pulled pork and fried plantain tacos both with fries. Both meals were delicious! I've never had anything quite like the tacos but they were fantastic. However, overall the service was lacking. It took quite awhile to get drinks and kept having to call the waitress over when we needed something. Overall, cool vibes with great food! A lovely spring evening drinks and dinner outside at the Triton. We ordered the beer battered onion rings to start. They were seriously has big as my face! A crisp batter to start but they were pretty greasey and got soggy quickly. We shared the Spicey Korean Pork and Shredded Beef tacos. They were both amazing! Go Triton!! Only 2 visits have been made to this brewery. Both were flawless. Both were on Sunday. Not sure why but the Sunday's we visited the place was almost empty. Not sure why but good for us at that time. They always put out quality beers. Several varieties for all the various types of drinkers. Food is spot on and very reasonably priced. Food prices were surprising for a brewery. Normally breweries are overly proud of food and overprice it. Not here. Chili was fantastic and deep fried portobello shrooms are a must.
