My passenger side doors were replaced by Tristate and after nearly a month in the shop the work was finally done but when I went to pick up my vehicle, there was slight bangs in one of the doors. I sent the vehicle back in to repair and two days later I pick up to find the front passenger door not alighned leaving space in between the door panels. I also noticed residual paint or tape that should've been removed as well as shop dust all over my second row seating. The estimator Justin did nothing to resolve these issues. Thankfully, Mr. Dovell was very helpful in cleaning off the risidual and making sure the issues were fixed. I was finally able to pick up my car the next day and noticed my blind spot indicators were not operating. I checked my windows and realized my front passenger window would not go done. As I was driving home, the front passenger window collapsed into the door! Customer service from the estimator Justin was sub-par, and completely unacceptable. My only positive experience was the courtesy of one of the other estimator, Dovell Johnson. I would not recommend this place AT ALL!​ read more

After running over something that banged up undercarriage, TriState diagnosed wonky fuel gauge as bad fuel pump which they replaced after a month sitting on car. It did not affect the fuel gauge's problem, still reads 7/8 full when below 3/4 tank. read more

I'm not really understanding some of the negative reviews.... I was recently rear-ended at a red light and of course needed body work. My insurance company sent me here and I went with great trepidation. My experience here was fantastic! Brendan was extremely helpful in explaining everything to me after he looked over my car. TriState was great with communication and the front office personnel were friendly, professional and kind. They helped figure out the insurance issues and kept me appraised during the entire repair process. When I picked up my car it was immaculate! It looked like a new car and the repairs were just beautiful! I'm very happy that I used TriState and if I ever need their services again in the future (hopefully not lol) I will be back! read more

100% worst customer service I've ever had. First every call I got was from a number that was Not Tristate. Some were from Apple Ford, others from random number NOT Tristate. SHADY!!! When I called in originally with questions my adjuster NEVER CALLED BACK. NEVER! I called 3 times in a week. Never returned my call. When I called in the day I was told it was ready I was Constantly talked over when I was trying to get information. I was given a date of May 5th as the completion date. Then on May 2nd, the day I am flying out of town and don't have time to come in and drop off my rental as well as pick up my car, I'm told it's ready come get it. I call in and ask why I wasn't told it would be ready sooner, my adjuster says "I can't predict the future" But then he agrees he knows how far along in the process my car is but can't predict if there are last minute issues. Here's and idea, how about saying "Here's a heads up that baring any last minute issues it will be ready May 2nd and we will call you that day to confirm" They deserve way less than 3.5 stars. I don't care what the work May look like, the human beings that are on the other end of the phone are awful people who didn't treat me like a human but like an inconvenience. Apple Ford sent me here. Got a quote easy enough and the associate was helpful. All down hill from there. Try to go pay for my part (required for them to order) at the window there are two employees and I'm the only customer there. I have to ask for help, they reluctantly come over. They look at my quote and without saying anything to me go and complain to the rep who wrote up the quote. Apparently he forgot to add in the tax (why that wouldn't automatically be tabulated is beyond me). This unprofessionalism goes on for a couple of minutes, again, without me being even acknowledged. I then pay and go along my way. 1, simple part. 2 weeks later and no updates. I've called during business hours with no response and you don't have the option of leaving a message during the day or when they're closed. Worried I've been scammed. read more

Not happy with the repair they did on my 2015 Nissan Murano. I was refered by Geico, since they have a representative on site. The repairs were minimal, just replace the front bumper, grill and one of the headlight. The latch that releases the hood was still bent, and I cannot straighten it. The wheel plastic trim is not correctly lined up with the body of the car, they should have replaced both front wheel plastic trim. They used the wrong clips on the bumper, was too loose. They installed my LED light bulb backward. They did not pay attention to detail and this was a sloppy job. read more

Poorly managed, go somewhere else! The body shop did a good job on my car. I can't tell it was in a fender bender, except for the bent up license plate, which they can't fix. The problems start with the front office though. You can't get a straight answer from anyone. Every time I called I got a different answer, and it was always wrong. Getting transferred from the front office to someone else doesn't help because they never pick up the phone. Leave a message and they either 1) take all day to call you back, or 2) never call you back at all. My car was finished for days and they made me wait for days while they didn't fill out paperwork they were supposed to complete. They got the money from the insurance company, and they still didn't want to give the car to me because their paperwork wasn't finished. Eventually, I waited in their lobby for about 30 minutes while they got their act together and finished the paperwork. When I went out to my car to take it away, I found it completely covered in dust from the trees it had been sitting in the lot for so long! I had to take it to the car wash straight away to get the dust and tree sap off of it. I never want to be treated like I don't matter from anyone, but that is the way you are treated here. They had my car for over 6 weeks. They somehow managed to tack on and additional $1000.00 in non-existent damages after the initial estimate was approved by Geico. How does that work??? read more

I took my car in to be fixed on November 9th. There was minor damage from me backing up into someone. I waited to take the car in until they told me the part was in. Almost Five weeks later, I still do not have my car back. First the part wasn't in, then they told me they found other work that needed to be done and were waiting for approval from my insurance company. They told me the insurance company had not gotten back to them. I contacted the insurance adjuster and he sent me a copy of the email he sent TriState dated the same date they said they requested approval. Next I was told the the part they ordered didn't fit right so it had to be reordered. Throughout this ordeal , no one from TriState called me to give me updates. I called them each time. The next excuse was that the parts had to be painted and were in the paint shop. On Friday, December 9th they did call me and told me the car was being reassembled. I called today and was told they discovered they needed a few more parts and that they are supposed to be in tomorrow, but can't promise I will have the car back this week, but maybe next week. I tried to get a rental car today and none of the Enterprises have any cars until Thursday. I am so frustrated and mad at this point. I would not recommend TriState Collision in Columbia to anyone. Poor communication and now I am not confident that the bumper will be fixed correctly. read more

Original assessment and damage inspection was not comprehensive and required a supplemental inspection as well as corrective work when vehicle was said to be finished. Horrible!! Going thru a Geico insurance claim TriState took 5 days to repair a front glass windshield. Got there to pick up car and they'd disconnected and broke my automatic starter. After waiting for 20 mins to speak to a Mgr and being hassled about a rental car - TriState took responsibility for the damage and had the starter repaired. Just awful - Tony and Jeremy poor poor customer service by all including the rude young lady who sits at the front desk. Never ever again!!!!! When i arrived to pick up my car i was given the keys at the front desk only ... no one walked out with me to ensure the repair was made correctly, no one said a word - Basically, get your car and Beat it... I was rear ended a couple weeks ago sent here by Geico. This shop has an absolute horrible issue with their quality control. When I first went to pick it up, they had installed a need tail lamp that was already broken and was very obvious when walking around. They kept the car to replace the tail lamp again but took longer to replace just that part than originally for a complete rear end repair. They never called to tell me it was complete, I saw the car sitting in employee parking when passing by so I stopped in and they said it had been ready for over a day. When I took it home and took a better look at the car in daylight, I found i was completely covered in overspray as if they painted the rear wothout covering the rest of the car. When the sun hit the windows, it was a dangerous glare I couldnt drive with. So I returned again. They told me they would buff it off and wouldn't take long. After 20 minutes, they told me it was ready which I knew was too fast. We went out to the vehicle and they had only cleaned the windows, leaving the overspray covering the rest of the car. Absolutely inexcusable and lazy on the technicians behalf. Take pride in your trade and make customers excited to refer you to them. Unfortunately I cannot because I'm left with a vehicle in worse condition than I started with. read more

I was involved in a car accident in early January 2019. I own(ed) a new Audi SUV at the time. The vehicle sustained some front end damage and the radiator was also damaged as a result of the accident. Thankfully, I was not injured and was able to drive the vehicle home after the accident. The police arrived on the scene and I was not found to be at fault. The airbags did not deploy and the tires were not damaged during this accident. As mentioned, there was front end damage. The extent of the damage included front bumper, the driver side lights, the front grill and the Audi S Line badge on both sides of the bumper, as well as the under liner extender of the fender. The headlights and the front bumper parking sensors were also damaged. I contacted my car insurance company (whom will remain unnamed) and they sent out an assessor to view the vehicle. After the vehicle was assessed, I trusted the insurance company to select a company to repair the vehicle. They chose Tri State Collision in Columbia, MD. That was the worse thing that could have happened. The vehicle went into the shop the next day after the accident and I signed off to have repairs done 2 days later. The insurance assessor went to the repair shop and re-assessed the vehicle's damage and reviewed the work that was required to repair the vehicle. Tri State estimated that the repair would take about 10 - 15 days to complete. I received numerous "fake" updates from Tri State indicating the estimated repair date. They provided me with this information after I called them to check on the status of the repairs. They indicated that they would send updates via text message; this was a result of me making a request that they provide me updates. The repair shop kept pushing back the completion date. So, the estimated completion time went from 10 -15 days, to additional days being added each time I received an update. I was told by a Tristate employee that they'd repaired an Audi A5 just recently. According to the employee, the car owner had issues with the vehicle because Tristate installed an aftermarket radiator on the vehicle and it leaked and overheated. As I mentioned initially, I needed my radiator to be replaced as well. Tristate informed me that the planned on using an aftermarket radiator, reconditioned parts, and other aftermarket parts. To say the least, I wasn't reassured about the quality of work that this repair shop would do. I became very concerned. After numerous texts and the repair date being pushed back, I finally received my car 40 plus days later. I finally received my car back in late February 2019. Just as a reminder, I got into an accident in early January 2019 and received it back late February 2019. I contacted the insurance company to voice my concerns and frustrations. They too gave excuses for the delays and the aftermarket parts being used.. On one occasion they said, "it is a new car, those parts are hard to find, etc..." I have never heard so much BS in my life. I believe incompetence on the part of the repair shop played a significant part in this whole nightmare experience. I would not recommend this company to anyone EVER. They DO NOT care about customers, providing timely communication, nor providing quality service. To say the least, I did not feel safe after receiving this vehicle. As a result, I immediately took the vehicle to the car dealership and purchased a new vehicle. I also forgot to mention that when I received my vehicle, the repair shop failed to returned it with the S Line badges and an underlying fender. They indicated that they would contact me when they received those parts. So after waiting for my car to be repaired for more than 40 days, it was not 100% complete when it was released back to me. I received a call sometime later about the parts for the vehicle, I just picked them up and wiped my hands of this place. This entire experience was TOTALLY RIDICULOUS!!!!!!. read more

I am now on my 5th or 6th time to have TriState repair the work they did in 2011. Currently, my issues are that the paint did not adhere well to the front bumper, the molding has fallen off multiple times, body panels are rusting where they did work, rear bumper is bubbling and rusting, and the weather stripping around the glass has peeled away from the glass. In the times I have gotten my vehicle back, they "released" it to me with non-working windows, body filler still showing without any paint, front passenger door would not close, front bumper and headlights misaligned, paint issues just sprayed over with no prep, orange peel, poorly pre-paint prepped areas that I could still see what was going on under the paint. I believe the definition of their quality of work boils down to the last time I brought the vehicle in. They fender-well was rusted (the first time) and they said they would weld a new metal panel in for that area. It rusted 6-8 months later (non winter months) which ONLY means they sanded it down and sprayed over it again. Furthermore, you can see on the inner fender-well that there was no new metal installed. Two weeks ago, I just tried bringing the truck back to get repaired two weeks ago on a lifetime warranty, the shop director is grasping at straws trying to say that the missing paint is due to "chipping" from rocks or debris from the road, and is refusing to honor a portion of the work they did. The paint is literally peeling off which means that the paint did not adhere to parts of the bumper which can only mean poor prep. You can tell the difference between scratched or "chipped" OEM paint and this body shop's un-adhered paint since it is peeling away and no impact marks can be seen from any road debris. In closing, all I ever wanted was for my vehicle to be repaired back to OEM specs, and I am now on my 7th year of dealing with the issues from TriState Collision. This is my nightmare! read more

TriState is an appropriate name, because based on my experience this place seems like the worst auto body shop in Delmarva. Someone hit the driver's door on my van and just damaged the running board. The Geico adjuster estimated it would take 3 days to fix so I dropped it off before I left on vacation thinking it'd be ready to be picked up when I got home the next week. Well I've been home for 9 days now and I just finally got it back today. They were waiting on a part like the whole time I was gone...my van is a lowered handicap van so apparently they ordered some wrong part that didn't fit my modified van. Unfortunately it gets worse...while they had the van they somehow messed up the hand controls that I use to gas and brake. I was able to drive home safely but the hand controls are now loose and the gas pedal is pretty unresponsive. I have no idea why they would even touch the hand controls for minor body damage... Anyway, I'm taking the van to the place that modified it on Monday so they can fix TriState's damage. Maybe this place is alright for standard vehicles but I certainly can't recommend it. read more

Someone hit my car and knocked me into a curb and did some pretty heavy damage. I brought my car here and they "fixed" it promptly. Took it home and realized immediately that when going around bends in the road, such as exit ramps, my car completely shifted and was very unsafe. Brought it back the next day and explained the issue. The mechanic drove it, brought it back and told me it was my tires. Well long story short, it was NOT my tires. I took it to another more trustworthy mechanic and found out it was the strut among many other things that did not get fixed with Tri-state. They took advantage of the fact that I'm a female and didn't know much about cars. Will NEVER come back and definitely DON'T recommend them to anyone. read more

After about 6 months of harassing them, I have given up, because they obviously don't care about their customers. Also, the tire that was hit in the hit and run loses air now. I was rear ended on the 4th of July and was referred here by my car insurance company USAA. Pretty bad accident, there was damage to the frame and the trunk would not close. Accident happened on a Saturday during holiday weekend. I called and got an appointment to come in for an estimate first thing Monday morning. When I got in I was greeted immediately by someone at the front desk. After a few minutes my rep Tony came out. They gave me my quote and got my car in that morning. They said it would be finished on July 22nd. I worked with Tony who was very courteous and professional though the process. He explained everything to me though out the duration. There is an Enterprise counter located at the shop if you need. I prefer Hertz and there is a location close enough to get picked up and dropped off there. They sent me daily e mail updates and Tony also called me every day with updates. It was nice that they completed my car on the 17th five days early. When I came to pick it up they had it ready. It was cleaned inside and freshly washed. My car was repaired to my complete satisfaction. Tony took me out an explained what was done and allowed me to check it over. They warranty their repairs and he said if I noticed anything wasn't up to par to give him a call. I definitely had a great experience. Hopefully I will not need their services anytime soon but if I do they are first on my list. There is nothing I can find wrong with the place. Normally I don't give out 5 stars but they are deserving. I have been in a few accidents in my day and have had hassles of trying to get appointments, estimates, and it taking forever to get my car back but none of that here. read more

Dishonest and unprofessional! I had the great misfortune of experiencing two car accidents over the span of two days. I took my car there because Geico uses them as a preferred body shop for their claims, and Geico was the insurance company of the lady who hit me. I explained to the Geico agent and the TriState agent that my car had two areas of damage and I thought we were all on the same page that only the Geico damages would be repaired. The TriState agent even marked the area with a green marker in my presence and assured me that the other damage would not be repaired. This is Lie #1. The insurance adjuster for State Auto Insurance had to evaluate my car while it was at TriState, but they said the issue of liability was still being determined so they would not pay for the repairs. I had already explained this to TriState when I dropped off my car. Well, they repaired the damage anyway. Then, they called me to tell me my car was done but they could not release it because State Auto hadn't paid but the Geico claim was all done. When I asked who authorized the repairs on the second accident, the agent said the State Auto adjuster authorized the repairs. This is Lie #2. I called State Auto and they denied the authorization and refused to pay for my car. I called TriState back and asked again who authorized the repairs, and the guy actually said that I did! This is Lie #3. TriState made unauthorized repairs to my car and ended up with an unpaid invoice of over $2,000 that they couldn't get paid. I would have had to pay the entire $2,005 invoice myself if my insurance company, State Farm, had refused to pay it because they never even got to evaluate my car's damages! TriState put me in a terrible situation and I had to pay $400 to get my car released to me. That was my children's Christmas present money. Do not leave your car with them. You will end up with an unanticipated bill because they do what they want instead of checking with your insurance company and they don't listen. read more

Had a minor accident that resulted in some damage to the front bumper of my vehicle. The Insurance company recommended TriState. I called and made an appointment for an estimate. When I arrived the person conducing the estimate (Tony) was ready and quickly completed their review. Within minutes I had a detail estimate for parts, labor, clarity around insurance coverage and a timeline for repair - stellar service! I dropped my vehicle off for repair and received constant automated email and live feedback on the status of my repair including percentages of completion, if things were on schedule, etc. The work was completed on time and is satisfactory. Excellent service, management of expectations and communications - what more can you ask for. read more

Had a bad experience there. I took it there after an accident which the at fault party's insurance covered. TriState fixed all the cracks and dents on the body of the vehicle which does look good. However after I left I noticed my exhaust sounded bad and the vehicle was pulling to the left. I took my car to get the tires fixed since GEICO stated they would only fix one (with an all wheel drive vehicle you need to replace in pairs or all four to avoid differential problems) The tire shop told me that my alignment was way off and that there is damage underneath the vehicle to the exhaust system. I went back to TriState and they stated that they don't believe it's from the accident. And accident where my vehicle was pushed over the middle curb dividing the roadway. I'm giving them a 2 star since my vehicle at least looks good on the outside. My recommendation would be to find another shop unless you have some dents to fix. read more

I got my car fixed here through GEICO which was the other driver's insurance co, and I was very impressed with everything from the moment I dropped off the car at the shop to the moment I picked it up. The damage estimate and repair were done timely and efficiently. Most importantly, the bumper that was replaced looks great (obviously I cannot attest to the inside). In fact, when my husband went to pick it up, they did another inspection and, when they found a little chip, they fixed it up, and we were able to get a beautiful looking car the next day. Everyone (including the GEICO adjuster who assessed/estimated the damage and Enterprise rental agent) was professional, friendly, and competent so, based on my personal experience, I'd highly recommend this place. I had set up an appointment at TriState through Geico and gave the collision center a phone call a few days before my appointment to ask some questions. I was polite to the employee who picked up the phone but he immediately came off curt and rude. I wanted to ask him some simple questions but he kept repeating that he didn't want to answer. Based on the call alone, I cancelled my appointment and rescheduled it with Gerber Collision in Jessup instead. Their customer service was much better and the whole process with them was efficient. I'm giving TriState two stars instead of one because I don't want to judge the entire body shop based on one rude employee. read more
