Coffee shops may be plentiful in Austin, but none deliver the caliper of service, quality and vibes quite like Trippy Buck! This location is perfect for anyone frequenting the UT area, and I decided to stop by on my way to an art museum. I usually order a Cortado, but after discussing how I prefer it to be made, the owner suggested I try a Macchiato (on my previous visit to their downtown location). On this visit I was served by their friendly Barista, Simon, who did a fabulous job preparing my coffee! They were lovely and made the experience THAT much better. I decided to try their peppermint syrup as opposed to my normal go-to pure cane syrup and was NOT disappointed! I am always pleasantly surprised by their VERY reasonable prices, especially for their level of quality. I will continue to go out of my way, even pay for parking, to visit either location. I find it hard to trust many "up and coming" coffee shops that are promoted by the city's numerous influencers, but this is an establishment I stand behind 1000%! 2026 is the year we all should try to be mindful of how and where we spend our dollar, and supporting locally owned and operated businesses is always a win in my book! Super cute little spot just off of the main UT Austin campus downtown. Ample street parking and parking lots in the area. Cute little coffee truck with amazing coffee! Finally got to try it out this morning and the coffee was delicious, I ordered a latte with cinnamon bun syrup which was the perfect hint of sweet and decadence but not over powering. They have tons of menu options/offerings when it comes to drinks, syrups, and also have a little pastry menu. Service was super fast, I was in and out in maybe 3 minutes total (could've been less even). Can't wait to come back! read more

Wow this was such a great find for an after class pick me up! This cute food truck is on guad right behind the Co-op. My friend got a dirty chai latte, her go-to drink, and recommended I try the lavender lemonade, which was soooo delicious and refreshing! This was super inexpensive and they didn't charge extra for cream and milk which I appreciated because some places do... anyway, they grow their own coffee in Ecuador and it has a nice taste!! A decent coffee food truck that's trying to find its place on the UT campus. The owner is a friendly dude who is willing to explain coffee to you. My friends who got the iced coffee enjoyed it. I got the regular latte. It surprised me that it was only an 8oz for $3.50. I guess they don't offer the standard 12oz, but you can only upgrade to 16oz. The taste was quite mild and very milky. I like it mild, but some would say it lacks depth. I'm not positive i'd come back, but it's at a good spot, so maybe for the iced coffee or cold brew. read more

This is honestly the best place to get good coffee by campus (sorry Lucky Lab/Medici). Addison always makes a quality cup EVERY time. Even though I almost always get the same thing (because even just the plain latte & cortado are chefs kiss) I have tried other drinks and they're always so good. He has a ton of syrup options that you can ask for because some aren't on the menu (ex: I had pumpkin spice in February! Starbucks who??) and he somehow always puts the perfect amount of syrup so that a drink isn't overly sweet. Also definitely the best bang for your buck (no pun intended ) as the prices are super reasonable. Addison is a great guy and you can tell he really cares about his customers! He's super friendly, knows coffee, and gives great suggestions. Definitely give this spot a try!! read more

I've been visiting Trippy Buck consistently for over a year now and could not have better things to say. I've been an avid coffee drinker for the last 5 years, and have tried just about every coffee shop in Austin... nothing compares to the quality of Addison's coffee. Every morning I'm greeted with a warm, "Hey boss! The usual?" To which I say yes and take my coffee to campus with me. Trippy Buck sources their coffee beans from his family farm in Ecuador, and the quality is outstanding. Trippy Buck's commitment to sustainability and efforts to provide fair wages for their workers is beyond admirable, and with the goal of one day opening his own coffee shop in Austin, I don't see anyone more deserving. I've recommended Trippy Buck to just about every coffee drinker I know, and have yet to receive a single complaint. Addison is super kind and absolutely worth visiting.
