It's really not fair to rate when we had 46 people talking and renewing friendships. The staff where superior they kept everything going and where so helpful. 5 stars. We had 2 choices for lunch, either the buffet or the lunch menu. Based on a yelper review I ordered grilled jumbo shrimp, wife ordered the buffet. Well, you can imagine the chef getting orders for 23 lunch plates at the same time. It took over 1 1/2 hours to receive our food. Prices are a bit steep. In fact when I asked for more salad dressing they charged extra. Service was good and the food is also but it is over priced for what you get. So I was super excited to try this place for the seafood buffet they offer. & let's just say the food is mediocre. The service is terrible. & the vibes this place gives is not pleasant. The person who sat us down seemed to have an attitude. Especially because we needed a high chair. They sat us on the side of the building where the air conditioner barely blew. Our waitress definitely had NO business being a waitress especially the amount of time it took to greet our table. & to be honest she wouldn't have even said a word if I wouldn't have greeted her first. Triple C has lost a long time customer. I'm sad that they did away with the Salad/Soup bar. That's why I enjoyed eating here. I'm not sure why, but due to this, I will not be back. Maybe they couldn't afford to maintain it? A friend of mine said he got the "All you can eat" salad bar, but when he went up for a 2nd serving they told him "All You can Eat" was only 1 trip to the Salad Bar. Really?! I have never heard for such a thing, but he said he was told he could only go up once and fill his plate up once. How is that all you can eat? Are you supposed to pile all of it up on ONE plate? Starting off this review I had eaten a bad burger the prior day and I needed a good burger. This was my first time checking this place out and the interior is very nice, very cool to see all the brands on the wall. I order my food and it comes out probably 20 minutes later and dig in. First bite the flavor of the burger explodes in my mouth and is so juicy. Excellent burger and fries, and the price matched it appropriately. I was on a Road trip with friends and they had been telling me about this place for a while and talking about how good it was. So, we went for lunch on a Sunday and it wasn't too busy. I ordered a Chicken fried steak that came with two sides. I picked sweet potato fries and a salad. This cost me around 13.95 not including a tip, so it was a little pricey but the portion size was big. The chicken fried steak was great, the breading was super crispy and the meat was tender. I loved the sweet potato fries, they were kinda like wedges and were crispy yet soft. And the salad was a salad, it was pretty good. Waitresses were super nice and attentive. Ugh, I was not really a fan of this place. We were heading back from Hondo purposely to try a restaurant that we've never been to. When we saw this place, I thought it was pretty cute. We walked in and literally there were 7 other families or so and this place was DEAD QUIET. So when my 3 month old baby started crying, literally everyone was getting so annoyed. I was not happy about the environment at all, even when my baby stopped crying, it's like I had to whisper to talk to my fiance. Our server was pretty rude and the food was cold upon arrival to our table. After dinner, I wanted to try one of their pies that they had in their menu, our server said they had none available. Then we had to sit around waiting for our server to bring the check, because she had completely disappeared in the back somewhere. Today my wife and I had probably the worst meal we have had in many years. I ordered Chicken strips with french fries and gravy. I asked if I could substitute mashed potatoes for the French fries only to be told "we don't offer mashed potatoes" (never heard that before - everyone has mashed potatoes) Ok so i got FF. The chicken was breaded and re-fried I don't know how many times as the breading was a disaster, dark brown and awful taste. Probably from the same fat being used to cook fish or whatever- I hate to think. My wife ordered an 8oz ribeye steak. Full of gristle and tough as old boots. The accompanying baked potato was old and again re-baked so many times the skin was like leather. The salad wasn't too bad and they made a passable gin and tonic. But for a $60.00 lunch, we would have been better off crossing the street to eat at BillyBobs Burgers. Don't bother with this place. read more

Subpar food with 5 star pricing. The only exception to the subpar food is the ribeye steak. They are very tender, juicy and flavorful! The salad bar is okay, I got rotten cottage cheese off of it once...eeeek!!! However, it's only thirty minutes to San Antonio, my suggestion is to go ahead and do the drive to the city. This place is horrible. The Anglo server obviously had a problem serving Mexican Americans. Yes we are Americans of Mexican heritage! Just like us there are also Americans of German,Irish, Polish,French, English heritage. We asked to seat in a less crowded section but the hostess said that section was closed. A few minutes later we noticed something odd. They were seating all the Anglo customers in that area. The seating is segregated! I thought is was 1962 all over again! We should all unite and boycott this establishment and believe me they will change their tune because actions and money talk!! They don't like us to sit with them but they want our business/money. Me and my wife went to eat there for the first time on Wed. We spent $60 on Steak and Shrimp and Catfish Combination Plates. I was so disappointed with this food: Onion Rings - Tasted like paper, no flavor Shrimp - Tasted...wait..no real taste...worst shrimp I have ever had Steak - Thin and the only taste was when I dipped it in A1 Sauce Broiled Catfish - I tasted no seasoning and undercooked Baked Potato - I was surprised it was good Bread - It was ok but nothing special We didn't even finish the stuff. Waitress did notice our dissatisfaction. Did I receive a visit from the from of the House or Kitchen Manager? No, I didn't. But I will say we had some nice $60 Baked Potatoes and Salad! I certainly won't be going back to this place. I find it hard to believe that the kitchen staff are tasting their product before they serve things. If they are and then serve it that's even more troubling. I don't mind giving places a chance. However, I can't see going back since it was obvious we were not satisfied and no one seemed to care. Well this restaurant has a very well atmosphere. The food is great. Service is great. The only downfall is that it has an open smoking area at the bar. If it was not for the smoking area where the smoke and get out to the rest of the restaurant I would have given this steakhouse a five star. I was back in the area and had to stop by here after ranting and raving about their burgers to a buddy. Ordered the bacon burger with a side salad along with my buddy and two of our other friends ordered a grilled chicken dish. The salad bar was 100X's better then the last time. The bread was not the same. Our meals came out and my friend said 'are you serious' when he saw the size of his chicken. It looked as though they got a chicken breast, split it in two and made two dished out of it. Our burgers came out and I'm pretty sure the patties are frozen and they use a regular bun now. SUPER SO SO!!! At this price point it is unacceptable that they have generic bacon bits and dried chives as toppings for the baked potatoe. Not To mention that the salad bar option has a 1 trip only rule and they only give you about a 4-6 inch round plate NOT A BOWL and everything is so so super underwhelming. This place has been going downhill for years but remains a little pricey. I started going in 2009. The waitress' are good and do their best. Start with the salad bar; they have been removing items due to fewer customers, salad dressing (Ranch) is watered down to stretch it farther. The menu items have already been reviewed by others, over the years. I would only add the food is even worse now. I would guess, as customers get fewer the quality goes down...which causes the customers to drop, more...how long before someone wakes-up. The ceiling appears to be falling too!! read more

Cute place. Absolutely worst cooking skills for steaks! 7 steaks all over $25 orders rare to medium rare and all were burnt and Over cooked! We have never been here and just bought land and heard such great things. But tonight was not the night. Our waitress even switched up the steaks because she did not plate them and then asked the guy that got the wrong steak to take the wrong one off his plate and put it on the plate so she could make it right!!! The wrong steak was supposed to have sweet potatoe fries and had a baked potatoe and instead of just bringing the fries so he could eat his well done steak she took it in the back. I asked if she could bring the steak back at least so he could try and eat it warm not cold as he waited for fries. Very nice lady apologized and said this was not usual and they had a new cook and gave a 10% off. Sadly the steaks were not eaten or eaten while trying to get them down with water.
