When I first arrived here in San Antonio I tried this place. I got the Bistro Burger. The burger was pretty good. Juicy, delicious, lots of flavor. Service was good. I was there early so not too many people. Ambiance was good, not too loud or anything. I also got a Mango Chamoy Slushie which was very good, best I ever had. Actually haven't had one before then. How have I forgotten this place?! So happy to revisit after a hiatus, cuz their burgers are deelish! Easy, casual order up at counter, seat yourself and menu is posted above. They serve a variety of burgers, sandwiches, wings, dogs, desserts, and meals include either a side of tots, fries, cucumbers with chamoy and lucas, or corn in a cup. Other sides are available as well. This trip since we craved for burgers, ordered: Bistro burger- wonderfully seasoned and cooked, served on sourdough, with avocado, grilled onions and mushrooms, mayo. One thing that should be added, the works, I felt it would be even better with the addition of lettuce, pickles, and tomatoes. I ordered the cucumbers sans chamoy and lucas. I appreciate simple veggies. Mexican burger- excellent! Juicy burger with cheese, jalapenos, pico de gallo, bacon and the works. The tater tots had a nice and crispy outer texture as it should. They have keto buns!!! But it's hit and miss, i've gone a handful of times where they didn't have them or times where the bun is extremely small. But they do lettuce wrapped, still not the same though. The service is always great since I have the extra modifications. The ambiance is nice, we are able to hear each other speak even though there are tv's playing. I'm a sucker for their bistro burger and the cucumber cup as a side. read more

Went for lunch and the service was great, cashier was friendly. It is a little pricey however the portions are great. We paid $46 for a cheeseburger, fries medium drink, Frito pie burger with chili cheese tots and a medium drink, and a cheeseburger kids meal. The wait for our food to be ready did take a little while. Although the burgers are thick they could have had more flavor. I LOVE THE SHACK. The Dorinachos with beef is just 10/10! Super delicious and loaded with that yummy cheesy beef! The service was great! I didn't know that you could add beef to the Dorinachos but the lady taking our order made a great suggestion and she was very nice! The chili cheese dog is also loaded and yummy! We get it everytime and it never disappoints! They have lots of indoor seating and its super casual. They have a great self service area. I also want to mention that their shakes are amazing! Y'all! This place has the BEST burgers in San Antonio! And I mean the best I have ever had in the 10 years we lived here! My husband thoroughly enjoyed his Philly also! My only regret is not finding this place sooner! It is worth the drive from anywhere in SA, I promise! This place is amazing!!! I'm upset at myself for not trying it sooner. From the bread to the seasonings everything is delicious. The fries were crunchy and seasoned to perfection they needed no ketchup. Prices were affordable given the portions. Went around lunch time and this place was super busy and they still managed to get my order out in a timely manner. Music was great and seating areas were nice and cozy. Tonight I did manage to order something new for me. I got the Mexican Burger 1/2 Lb with pica de gallo, bacon, jalapeño, Swiss cheese, and the works. You select what you want on your burger from a list and it includes a side. There are plenty of sides to pick from. I had Fries, No Jalapenos, No Ketchup,No Mustard, with lettuce, mayonnaise .Cut In Half and a pink center medium to rare burger. It was just as I requested. Now these are juicy burgers so have your napkins ready. I just love what they season the fries with. Sorry for the not as good photos but I ate my fries quickly and my burger kept sliding off the bun. Great burgers in a strip mall. So the inside isn't spacious and you have to go to the counter to pick up your food leaving the anxiety that your seat will be taken. They do have a good sized patio. This isn't a fast food burger joint, they make each order fresh. You will wait a bit to get your food but the taste is worth it. I had ordered Crunch Chili Cheese Dog and chili cheese fries. The crunch dog was everything and more some! Crunchy. Delicious chili. Cheesy. Thick hot dog. All such a texture delight and great combination to master the perfect hot dog craving for me! The chili cheese fries came out hot too and the chili was perfecto! The fries was covered in chili and cheese yet still crunchy! We also ordered the Oreos churros and strawberry funnel cake and it was delicious! Our party of 6 was happy! The watermelon aqua Fresca according to the employee said it's made fresh to order. I am not sure if they added sugar to it but it was overwhelmingly sweet. Everything we have eaten here is delicious. From the burgers to dogs to fries to my favorite - the strawberries and cream. The food is always cooked to order, many menu choices and the burgers are to die for, just like you like them (juicy and well seasoned). The fries are tasty and the onion rings are delicious too. On our way back home from Seaworld we were in the mood for a burger, so we came across The Shack in our search, so we thought we'd try it out. The images on Yelp! looked very inviting. The setup was a little crowded and cramped, with there being only a few steps from the door to the line to order food and there being about 12 tables (some of which had been pushed together to accomodate two tables of eight people, near the back of the restaurant). Also, my first impression was that they are super, super busy or just don't care that they have dirty tables. The place was almost full, with only one four seat table available, but it had not been bussed. We waited a few minutes to see if the two workers walking by would clean it, but I wound up having to clean it for our party of four. The photos on the wall, in the line, were helpful to get an idea of what some to the specialty items would look like and the menu provided enough information to where we didn't have to guess what was included on our burgers. The staff was on point and the pricing was pretty good for ther size and quality of the burgers. As you can tell by the photos, the burgers were huge (three of is got burgers...I got a double)! They were also pretty tasty, especailly with them being made with Angus beef. My only gripe is that the meat tasted like it was frozen, prior to being on the grill. Other than that, the veggies seemed fresh and the cheese was melted, perfectly. The Dorinachos (Dorito Nachos with corn, feta cheese, etc. was said to be good, too. Hadn't been here since they moved locations from Babcock several years ago. The food was sooo good, my husband and I loved it! The staff were friendly, we loved the chill environment and the communication about the wait. We were not able to finish the meals served; wife said she'll ask for a kid's burger next time. The restaurant is a bit small on the inside, but some tables outside. In need of a burger we decided to give THE SHACK a try. Even though we saw another burger food truck on TV that looked good. We compared the reviews on both of them and The Shack won! Located in a shopping center between Academy and LA Fitness off of Northwest loop 410. It took us about 20 minutes to get there from our house so not too far. Walking in the place was almost full, however it was very clean. Paper menu is hanging on the wall as well on three different tv monitors above the cooking area. Once we decided on our order, we stepped up to the cash register to order. We gave our order of a cheeseburger with onion rings and a Philly cheesesteak with fries. The cost of everything was about average for San Antonio. Nothing too expensive. Took a few minutes for our food to be ready, our name was called to come pick it up at the register. Everything looked excellent. We split everything in order to try it all. The burger was good, not extremely greasy or juicy. Not a fan of the onion rings, however the fries were good. Now on to that amazing Philly Cheesesteak. It did have mushrooms on it, and I am not a real big fan of those, however it was so good I did not even pick them off. Everything was hot and you could tell it was just cooked. We just went back this weekend and got the beef and chicken Philly cheese steak sandwiches.
