Wow this hidden gem was amazing! I had the quesadilla with pork. It was the most flavorful meal! It was so delicious. I shared the corn in a cup with my hubby. The meal, service, and experience were excellent. I love the modern look and feel inside.

My new favorite spot! First off walking in, the service was amazing! I wish I had gotten the name of the young girl that helped us because she is such a sweetheart! LOVE her customer service and patience! Secondly the place is super clean! I didn't get to the lounge area but I love what I see so far! Thirdly the hotdogs are AMAZING!!! I got the chiponky and my boyfriend got the chunky street! We devoured every bite ! Will be coming here again very soon!

When it comes to food and customer service....This place has not disappointed. Yelp introduced this hidden gem to me about a year ago and I came back 1.8.24 wanting to see what changes have happened since my first visit. They've expanded their menu There's now music and additional seating indoors YAY! They sell funny stickers for 1.49 check the pics out!! And let's not forget their selfie window (that's what ima call it lol no ands, ifs, or butts!) Social media: TikTok, FB, Insta. Go check them out! On this day, they were having their dogs 15% off and five mini tacos instead of four. I got the keep me chunky combo Beef sausage with smoked bacon, tomatoes, grilled jalapeños, grilled onions, covered in ketchup, mayo, and mustard. Let's not forget the loaded cheese fries with bacon bits and canned soda. My forever plus one got mini tacos. Typically contains 4 but their deal offered five #Winning. They were on point! We didn't even realize that no guac was included. Can't wait to try the next dog Will continue to recommend.

We'd heard about this place but never stopped in until today - we've been missing out! This place isn't a big place - in fact if you're not looking for it, you may miss it. When you walk inside there is a small area to order and there are 7 seats at counters facing out. If the weather is nice, there are also a few tables outside but their website does warn of limited seating. This is THE place for Mexican hot dogs. The dogs are 9" (and their window has a semi-humorous statement about 9" - I'll let you figure that one out for yourself). We decided to try the bacon and cheese fries, which were actually good. They had cheese sauce and bacon throughout and not just plopped on top like a lot of places do. My wife tried the Chiponky which is a dog, spicy chipotle cream, buttered sweet corn, cotija cheese, fried and grilled onions and mayo. I have to say - I tried some and it was . . . REALLY good! When we go back I'm going to get one! I was having a hard time deciding and there was a group behind us waiting to order, so I panicked and just ordered the first dog on the menu - literally - the Chunky Street which is a dog with bacon, tomatoes, grilled jalapeños, grilled onions, mustard, ketchup and mayo. It was very good as well. They have many other varieties of dogs to choose from as well as other Mexican food. This hidden place is awesome and you'll be glad you stopped by! The staff (one up front and one in back) was very friendly and helpful! We will be going back!

CAN Y'ALL HANDLE 9 INCHESS OF THICC JUICY MEATT? Not only are the hot dogs one of a kind their al pastor tacos were the best I ever had! They got 9 inchers packed with a generous amount of toppings and lots of combinations to try out! The sausages themselves were thick and juicy and the buns were super light and fluffy! We got the #3 chunky street hot dog and the crispy onions were so so good. The toppings go well with the hot dog and it was so filling. One issue was that the hot dogs were so long that it was hard to pick them up without spilling any of the yummy toppings. The buns were so light that the fillings broke through them sometimes. I also got the mini tacos and I think they come with either 4 or 5 small tacos and you can either choose beef or pork. I got the beef al pastor and it comes with lots of cilantro, oninos, guacamole, and spicy salsa on the side. These were definitely so good and authentic and so filling! Defintely a great menu item! The resteraunt is kind of small inside but they do have outdoor seating! Great hole in the wall and this place definitely deserves more recognition! Super innovative menu with super friendly staff. Will definitely be coming more often! They also open until like 2am so if this place was anywhere near me when I'm not sober I'd sell them out immediately lmaoo

Came into San Antonio for some daytime adventures and found this gem! We had no idea and can't wait to tell everyone. The service was exceptional, the food was on point. The place is unassuming but has a little bit of everything from a simple ordering with eating bars, a patio and the cutest lounge with a full bar. We had the corn in a cup, chunky street dog and rancho nachos. They had me at RICO Cheese!

The food and service was great. We got the chunky fajita and the chunky street. The loaded fries were not really loaded, but were good.

Delicious Mexican style Glizzy's!(When given the option always go with Bacon Wrapped) We were seriously impressed with how well the buns held up. Can't wait to go back and try the Nachos and tacos. Restaurant was super clean and staff was friendly. I love that they stay open late and I love that they bring something vibrant to the neighborhood

Second time at El Chunky. The first time I was where was part of a promo and the food was delicious but I came around 5pm. Today I was wanting late night eats that wasn't Whataburger! We arrived around 10:30pm. By the time I decided what to get I was about 1.5 miles away so I didn't want to go order online. They've added a nacho and a taco menu since the last time I was here and I loved the options! I ordered a corn cup and a Corndog as well as the Fajita Hotdog. I was told 10 minutes but it ended up being closer to 30!! We ordered to go. The corn cup was packaged with a sealed lid which I appreciated. The food was delicious as it was before and it kept on the 15 minute ride home. There were revolving customers which I love for this small, local business. But the 30 minute wait was ridiculous!! If not for that, it would be a5 star review. We will be back

Well we had to go again and once again no disappointed belly here! Always super friendly customer service and we were excited to learn about new items coming soon to the menu. The menu is already fantastic. They are super quick to clean off the counters for seating and available spaces from inside or outside. It was nice and sunny and not cold luckily that day. We appreciate any local business and pray they continue to be successful' hard work pays off!

Truth be told I couldn't handle the 9 inches lol
    Lauren G.

I couldn't handle all 9 inches But,The flavors were great.I got Al pastor on my hot dog and would like to try their tacos next. This place is worth the visit. If you're like me you will even have another 4 inches to snack on later. Next time I'd like to try a more classic dog to really get to enjoy the bacon wrapped dog.

It's been a few years since I've been by; so, I was truly looking forward to getting something. I chose The Brat & tots (plain). I was very happy with my choice. The gentleman greeted me immediately. I thought it would take me a minute, but, as I stated, I chose The Brat immediately. I'm a little high strung from my age, so people kinda chuckle. It's cute. I make me smile. They put the perfect amount of mustard on it too! See the photos, but it comes covered with cabbage & crispy fried onions. It is amazing. I was able to get a whole 1/3 of it eaten before my body shut down. Tot wise, they were hot & perfectly fried! I like to dip mine in ketchup, but they offer you various other dips as well. So, I got ranch cuz, um, of course. Also, I really like their soda brand. I can't remember it, but it's a dia de los muertos skull for the logo, but I love their roots beer, which was my beverage of choice today. It's really a nice little place to just come in & sit & enjoy a yummy hotdog alone, or with family/friends.

My partner and I went on a Sunday morning just after 11am and there were already people coming in to eat. It's popular for a reason! I've eaten here a few times and had a very consistently good time, but this review will be about my most recent visit. We visited on a rainy day, but luckily we were able to snag one of the inside tables, we ordered at the counter and our orders arrived very quickly. I got the Ratchet dog which is a beef dog with queso, hot Cheetos and fried jalapeños. Dogfather uses quality dogs and buns for all of their gourmet dogs. I found the Ratchet to be meaty, salty with just right amount of spice from the jalapeños. My partner got the Pop it like it's hot, but removed the jalapeños. This was good but lacking a bit of flavor, however she and I both agreed that was on her for taking the jalapeños off the dog. Both dogs were extremely tasty, and we devoured both. I also got an order of curly fries loaded with their chili and cheese. For me, these did not have to go as HARD as they did. The chili they are using at Dogfather is seriously good, with a slight tang and a good amount of spice. It thrills but does not take away from your meal with too much heat. Very tasty. My only feedback is that Dogfather needs a larger space! There's a good size outside seating area, but for times like today when it's raining people need some coverage. They're doing it right and the crowds want to come! As I have stated this is a local favorite. If you live nearby, make it a regular spot. If you live in San Antonio, do yourself a favor and make a trip over at least sometimes. If you like hot dogs you won't go wrong.

As soon as the tour was over we walked back to the corner of W. Crockett and N. Presa to give them a try. Our tour guide was right, these are the best hotdogs in San Antonio. Bacon wrapped with a multitude of options for toppings, paired with a toasted bun, we literally sacrificed our keto diet on these. 100% recommend. We had two of the bacon wrapped with ketchup and mustard, and shared an everything (ketchup, mustard, mayo, and jalapeños). I can't decide which is better so you will need to give them both a try as well. Great location. Nice easy walk from the Alamo, and they are open late to give you the snack you need while doing a historic tour or of the city or spending a night out on the Riverwalk. FIRST TIME VISIT!…read more Woohoo! Been looking for chili cheese fries and happened upon a review for this place boasting fries with a homemade chili so we HAD TO stop in tonight. THE LOCATION: on the very end of a string of businesses in a strip mall that I've never been in before, so that was cool. Lots of parking, that'll never be an issue. And right off the 410. THE MENU: Burgers, dogs, Mexi-style munchies and a variety of frozen dessert-type items like shakes, frozen fruit concoctions and Italian ice. THE STAFF: I wasn't overwhelmed with a warm welcome and smiles, at least from the guys. Lol! They should really work on that. There was a sweet gal who ran out our food orders and she was great. THE FOOD: I ordered the grilled chicken sandwich deluxe with tots and a sweet tea. The grilled chicken was juicy and cooked well and the bun was lovely, slightly sweet and toasted. Overall, the sandwich could've used more flavor, like a creamy bbq spread and cheddar instead of the "Swiss" cheese that tasted more like American cheese. But overall, 7/10. The tots were extra crispy and the guy who took my order didn't take heed to my request for ranch. I was too lazy to get up again so I settled for ketchup. The sweet tea was nicely sweet and fresh, I'll be sipping this in my dreams. The hubby ordered the bacon cheeseburger with chili cheese fries and an Oreo cookie shake. The burger looked good and he ate it quick, so there's that. This guy can EAT so it surprised us both when he slowed down fast after eating that burger. Lol! He kept saying how filling it was, but then he also killed a large shake before the food arrived, so there's that. He ate most of his chili cheese fries, leaving me a few bites to sample. Not bad. I order a Coco Haven frozen dessert to go and omg is this thing delightful! Vanilla ice cream and coconut Italian ice (?) with a blue snow cone-like syrup drizzled throughout. I loved the texture of what I believed to be Italian ice. Smooth and flaky, a perfect icy dessert. OVERALL: decent eatery, the hubby said we can go back (LOL!) Shockerrrrr! But I recommend the staff tries harder to make customers feel welcomed and comfortable. The next visit will be telling.

The first issue was using the InKind app. We spent about 10 minutes trying to figure out how to use it because ordering ahead wasn't working, and none of the employees seemed familiar with the process. One employee was patient, friendly, and genuinely tried to help us figure it out, which I appreciated. After finally placing our order, we were told it would take about 15 minutes. Instead, we waited roughly 40 minutes, and didn't receive our food until 11:00 p.m., right at closing. I understand we came during the last hour before closing, which is why I specifically asked if we had enough time. If the kitchen was backed up or our order was going to take 40+ minutes that late in the evening, I would have completely understood. I just wish we had been told that up front instead of being quoted 15 minutes. By the time we received our food, it was closing time. Thankfully we ordered it to go, because if we'd planned to eat there, we wouldn't have had the opportunity. When our food was finally ready, the bag was already ripping because something inside had leaked. The employee noticed right away, grabbed two new bags, and repacked everything, which I appreciated. We ordered quite a bit to sample the menu: the Cali Chick (lettuce wrapped), Hot Chick, Buff Chick, Little Mule, Totchos, onion strings, sweet potato fries, and a Teriyaki Chicken Caesar Wrap (which we haven't tried yet, so I can't comment on that one). Unfortunately, the food we did eat was very disappointing. The lettuce-wrapped Cali Chick was a mess--the lettuce was so wilted it couldn't even function as a wrap. The onion strings, Totchos, and sweet potato fries had all lost their crispness by the time we got them, and everything was lukewarm or cold. The Little Mule ended up being our favorite burger, while the Hot Chick definitely delivered on the spice. Ironically, the sweet potato fries were my favorite side, even though they came in the smallest portion. Our total was over $100 before the InKind discount, and I honestly wouldn't pay full price for this meal. The quality just didn't match the price. I don't know if the kitchen was short-staffed or if something else was going on that night, but waiting 40 minutes after being quoted 15 minutes--especially with almost no one else ordering--only to receive cold, soggy food was incredibly disappointing. I do want to give credit to the employee who helped us. He was polite, apologized several times for the delay, and even repacked our order when he noticed the leaking bag. Unfortunately, the overall experience and food quality just didn't live up to the price. Based on this visit, I couldn't justify spending over $100 for the experience we received. I hope this was just an off night, but it was disappointing enough that I felt it deserved a 2-star review.
