My favorite pub/restaurant in the neighborhood. The dining room in back is great for a quiet dinner. The front bar is lots of fun with perfectly pulled pints and the most delicious, sticky toffee pudding. Trinity place is a beautiful restaurant. Its located right next to the famous Zucotti Park of Occupy Wall St lore. Its great for business lunches or dinners. Its built inside of a reclaimed bank so ots probably great for talking money and closing deals. They still have 2 HUGE vault doors and other cool remnants. I was there for a business meeting so I ate light and just ordered the soup. It was butternut squash bisque. My favorite. Too bad it was severely underseasoned. It tasted like water. Ive had bad bisque but never one so bland. Everyone else enjoyed what they had (salads) so Im not saying the food is terrible overall but that soup was a big disappointment. read more

Don't be fooled by the gluten free menu-- This restaurant did not accommodate me very well! My Charcuterie Plate still came with bread even though the waiter knew I was ordering off the gf menu. When I asked if the bread was safe, he knew he messed up, told me not to eat that part, and didn't offer to bring a replacement. I was scared to eat the spreads... and skeptical for the rest of my meal... The House Cured Duck Confit comes in risotto and was OK. The Crushed Fingerling Potatoes were good. Overnight I had stomach issues, prob from gluten contamination or the creamy risotto. Since I work nearby, I may end up giving Trinity another chance, but likely not at my recommendation. read more

This place would be great for after work drinks and eats. I love the vault entrance and it's a lot bigger than it seems. I came here for lunch with a friend. We started with coffee and tea. The server was attentive. To start we had the Burrata which comes with Mozzarella, Serrano Ham, Saffron Poached Lady Apples, Toasted Country Bread. This was tasty. Next I had the Kobe burger and my friend had the turkey burger. Both were good standard burgers. I loved the red onion chutney on the Kobe. Ambience alone would bring me back here. How cool that this businessman restaurant in the Financial District is in a large old vault. Seriously. You walk up to the vault doors to the hostess stand to check in. The interior is of dark wood and gives you that old school 1940's feel. I didn't ask, but feel certain locals have a permanent spot at the bar, since there were small name plates scattered around at the bar. We were in for just a light lunch before going to the 911 Memorial. Their menu had just the perfect items for us. I was amazed salad was absolutely perfectly dressed- it was like each piece of lettuce had been picked up and spritzed with the dressing. The flavor was there, but it wasn't swimming in oil. This is also a great spot for an Irish coffee on a cold day. Service was great. I would definitely return if in the area again to try other menu items. read more

I love a good speakeasy and any bar or restaurant with a romantic and historic past life, so having a delicious steak dinner inside a vault was pretty special. Service was outstanding. Drinks were delicious. The Cheese & Charcuterie Board was one of the best I've ever had. My steak was a tad overcooked (even though I do like it on the Medium Well side) but the Gratin Potatoes on the side were outstanding. Warm Chocolate Cake for dessert every time. The decor is top notch from the entryway vault door to the old elevator shaft near the bar. I recently dined here for Sunday brunch. The food was fair and service just okay. I would however highly recommend the bread pudding for dessert. It was phenomenal!! I would return just for the dessert alone. It might have been bettered to visit for dinner instead of brunch. I was in NYC a few weeks ago for a work meeting with colleagues from across North America. Our NYC office is a block from Trinity Place and we booked a reservation there for 14 of us for dinner on a Wednesday. I had heard that the restaurant was buried in the vault of an old Wall Street bank and when you walked in you were greeted by the giant 2 foot thick vault door. Definitely a very cool ambiance for a restaurant close to the epicenter of the US financial markets. We arrived about 10 minutes early for our reservation and were seated immediately. We all ordered drinks, were chatting, etc. and the wait staff were very attentive. Everything on the menu sounded really good and I opted for the filet mignon. The filet came with two sides from the menu and I opted for the sautéed spinach and the crispy fingerling potatoes. It didn't take long for the food to arrive but when it did it was a giant clusterf**k. They set down my colleague's meal in from of him, after he said "yes, that's what I ordered," and then they tried to take it away from him saying that wasn't his. They clearly got the orders messed up in terms of what went where and were trying to convince another colleague of mine he ordered something he didn't. I get that it's hard with a large group of 14 diners and we definitely weren't the only large group there. Not a big deal but it certainly could have been handled a little more efficiently. As for the food itself, this was the 2nd best steak I had in NYC this week (I had the ribeye at Delmonico's two days before) and it was very good! I loved the peppercorn jus that came with the steak and was dunking my filet in there with every bite. The potatoes were excellent as well and the spinach was....just spinach. Nothing fancy but I needed some veggies. Overall it was a very good meal and quite reasonable given the $42 price tag for the filet. Would I order it again? Definitely! Other colleagues were raving about the braised short rib, which was the other menu option I had my eye on. After the meal we stuck around for a few more drinks and had a good time. Overall I'd say Trinity Place is a pretty good restaurant in the heart of the Financial District. I wouldn't come here for a meal with a significant other because it features a very businesslike crowd but it's definitely a solid place to grab dinner after work one night. 5 stars! read more

Negative star review. My friend ordered the petite filet with broccolini & potatoes au gratin. It was very good. It was served hot & had lots of flavor. Unfortunately, the wine we ordered was spoiled. It smelled bad & tasted worse. The waiter was unapologetic. He did replace the glass of wine but did not provide restitution of any kind. This was a nice find in the city. The front section of the restaurant was a huge bar with booths and small high top tables. In the back area, there was a quiet dining area with minimal lighting. We sat in the dining area. The service was well appreciated and the food came out in a timely matter as well. The only concern was that the menu had limited choices. For an appetizer, the duo of tartares ($16) was ordered. There was an ahi tartar and a salmon tartar. Both were tremendous. Each one tasted extremely fresh and prepared beautifully. The cucumber and seaweed salad that accompanied both was a nice touch along with the flatbread. It was a good start to the meal. I ordered the Mahi Mahi ($28) for an entrée. It came with a warm potato salad and sautéed spinach with a vodka-caviar sauce. The reason I ordered this dish was for the sauce. I never heard of a vodka-caviar sauce and was intrigued to try it. I was not disappointed at all besides the size of the pieces of fish. The fish was cooked to perfection and the sauce was very tasty. I did not get a sense of the vodka sauce besides the creaminess, but it was great nonetheless. The potato salad and spinach were good complements with the fish. For dessert, I tried some Apple Tart ($8). It was served with a scoop of high quality vanilla ice cream. This was a great ending to a great meal. There is no safer place to have a work lunch in FiDi. There is always space, everything is very proper and classic to a tee. There is absolutely nothing offensive about this restaurant except that it is hard to find the door, because this used to be a bank vault. There's a puppy daycare around the corner. I also once admittedly came here for a Thursday late night date because no other bar in FiDi close to the PATH is open in the late evening, and Dead Rabbit is overdone. There were still a few patrons floating around. You are here for a work lunch, not a weeknight date. read more

This place was honestly disappointing. Place was clean and food was tasty but here's where it falls short. We had a group of 3 during lunch time and our waitress came over to the table a total of 3 times during the hour we were there. The place was dead when we showed up, only having a couple other people in the establishment. The waitress did not even attempt to take our main entree order so we sat for a hour with only drinks and an appetizer. There was a group next to us who ordered and received their food while we waited 40 minutes for an appetizer and our main entree order was never taken. The drinks and appetizer was good; however, the service alone made this experience anticlimactic. I honestly was looking forward to dining here but what also was a turn off was that we had a server serves us another Charcuterie Board that wasn't ours and then took it off the table to serve to someone else and took it to the other table without sending it back to the kitchen. This is the second time I've visited Trinity Place (The first being several months ago). Both times have been for work associated happy hours since my office its located only a few blocks away. Both time haven't disappointed, and I would definitely recommend if you're looking for a funny happy hour inside a really historic venue. The restaurant originally served as a bank vault (yes, a bank vault) starting back in 1904. It was then converted into a bar and restaurant and is as beautiful as the vault itself is on the outside. Once you walk in you notice an extremely long bar area with plenty of seating. If you have the opportunity to dine here, you'll really be in for a treat with how classy the dining space is in the back. Both times we were here we ordered from an open bar and also order an array of appetizers to accompany our drinks. The cocktails were flavorful and packed a punch. The apps themselves were equally savory. Staff was polite and came back rather frequently to ask if we'd like more drinks or if everything was alright with the food. Overall, this is a great place to grab drinks with friends or coworkers after a long day! While staying down by Wall Street we were looking for a spot for dinner close by. We found this place and decided to check it out. They have two massive bank vaults on both sides of the restaurant. They are quite impressive and have the history on them. The restaurant has a great ambience too. You can tell it's a happy hour spot that turns into a great dinner spot later. They have a regular full menu but also a great bar menu. Note that the bar menu is in the drink menu (we did not notice it at first). All the sliders are excellent, they're bite size so get a few. The steak tartare and burrata were excellent highly recommend them. The empanada is very good too. They also have great music playing in the background making it a fun atmosphere. read more

We came here because it was convenient to the World Trade Center site. This place is historically very cool. It was constructed as a bank vault with 2 each 35 ton (75,000 pounds each!) doors at either end, and 5ft thick walls all around. The doors were made upstate and floated down the Hudson River on a barge. Then the contractor laid railroad tracks to get them to the site, and they built the building around the vault! Old Money barons used the vault for meetings. As far as the food goes, everyone enjoyed what they ordered. I had the seared ahi tuna on noodles served cold. Other members of our party had the lobster bisque; and also the Kobe beef hamburger. I found the prices reasonable for lower manhattan. I might return, but if another option presented itself I would likely try it instead. read more

The service was prompt and friendly. I had their burger with a side salad and everything was prepared well and very tasty. I have been here before - and in all fairness - my last visit was a pleasant one, hence my return. Last time, I ordered the brick chicken and the Brussel sprouts. This time, however, the experience was incredibly lackluster. To start with, the table we were seated at was blasted with AC, to the extent that I wanted to go home and grab a sweater. Granted it is September (technically still summer), but there is no reason to set the temperature so uncomfortably low. The waitress checked on us about twice in total during our entire 2-hour stay. My water glass remained empty for a long time. The biggest letdown, however, was the food. The duck confit I ordered was about 2.5inches in diameter. This was approximately 1/8 of the plate. The rest of the entree was risotto. Truly disappointing. If I wanted to predominately have rice I would not have chosen to come here for that. But what was I supposed to say - return this for a bigger pc of duck? Yes, it's a cool spot to dine, but would I come back a third time? Probably not anytime in the near future. read more

It turned out, it is very hard to find a good restaurant open late on Sunday night in lower Manhattan. What's even harder, is to lookup a restaurant you really like, choosing by their pics and reviews. But that's how we found Trinity. Now, first of all, the place is truly unique due to its style and interior. Try not to take picture of those huge vault safe doors! And all the small details matches the theme so well, like those copper-plated-looking columns between the booths, or those huge 20's-style chandeliers, or even colors of seats and tables along the entire place. I love when someone who creates or designes places like this, has an amazing idea and view of how it all should appear, and then brings it to life in such an outstanding way. Moreover, this style is like wear-resistant, I mean few scratches on a table, shabby leather on some seats may even be adding a bit of charm to it. Next up is the kitchen, and I have to say, both me and my girlfriend were absolutely happy with what we ordered. I went with Ahi Tuna and Soba Noodle salad, and it was a first time I was trying a chilled pasta dish. At the first bite, it seemed a bit unusual to my mouth, but rightafter I realized how great it goes with seared tuna. And that pepper crust is another nice little touch that needs to be specifically mentioned. In her turn, my gf got Gorgonzola and Ricotta ravioli, and no surprise, she said they were stunning as well. I can tell, the hazelnut sauce they came with, smelled just so good! Charcuterie board is listed on the menu in a little weird manner. So you have 3 choices - cured meats with olives, pickles and chutney (as we got), then just cheese board, and 2 meats + 2 cheeses combined. First up, it is unclear whether or not I will get olives, pickles and condiments with 2nd or 3rd choices, while the very first one is missing any cheese on it. The bar selection was quite wide and cocktail list was pretty long too. Beer variety isn't that big, but stylewise - you can find anything you may want. First time here and it was great! We had reservations for two and were sat in the back dining room. The bar was POPPIN on a Friday night. It was much louder on that side (just on the other side of the vault from the dining room). We came for dinner after a long day at work on Friday so I'm glad we were in the quieter dining room. That being said, I think next time we might sit bar-side for people watching. :) We got the Trinity Cheese Plate which came with three cheeses, grapes, nuts, the usual. I had the Market Salad which was much bigger than I was expecting (yay!) and my fiancé got the burger. I only had one cocktail, the Lady Lavendar, because it was stronggggg. They make a good drink! I had a pep in my step the rest of the night from that one drink. Next time I'd like to try their espresso martini. Bathroom was clean. Servers were attentive and friendly (so was the hostess). The bar area was extremely loud and full of Wall Street types, so we opted for a table in the back room for dinner instead of choosing from the bar menu. I was pretty underwhelmed at my experience here on my visit. I had heard some good things from friends about this place, which looks like you're walking into a vault upon entering. We came here after spending most of the day sightseeing in the financial district and were looking forward to a late lunch. Only the bar area was being seated and it was first come first serve. We weren't told this by anyone but just figured it out after not being approached or greeted by any of the staff as they walked past us. Once we sat at a free bar table we found toward the back, one of a handful of servers finally approached us after about 10 minutes. He took drink orders and they appeared to have a very creative cocktail menu. Their food menu was limited to the bar menu only as they only seem to serve a full menu during dinner hours. Not sure about that but we were pretty much told the bar menu was all we could order from without any explanation. Ended up getting the Tandoori Skewers and Pigs in Blankets since we figured we could just have a small snack to tie us over until we found something else. What a horrid experience I just had here! I came here for a business lunch with someone who does work for my firm. I've never been here, and he frequents the establishment and wanted to make an impression. However, we both left with sour tastes in our mouths. We arrived around 12:50 and were seated in the back. We passed the vault and the bar area, which was very crowded--the back area was relatively empty. The server came over after five minutes or so and asked if we wanted anything to drink; we didn't, the water would do just fine. Her attitude from this this point forward grew exponentially. She returned shortly thereafter, and we still weren't ready. Again, with the attitude. When she came the third time we began to order. I wanted the Salmon that I saw in Yelp pictures, but she informed me that was no longer on the menu. They now only have raw Salmon--I'll pass. I was convinced to order the Trout as a replacement by the person whom I was meeting with, I agreed. He also wanted to get an appetizer; he went with the steak tartare, but I'm not a fan, and when it arrived I opted not to have. In an effort to appease me; he summoned her over to return the steak tartare, in favor of a cheese plate, and she became noticeably angry. She responded, 'didn't I tell you it was raw steak" after explaining to her I didn't want raw steak. By this point I was fed up with her-- because I dropped my knife and when asked for a replacement, she angrily handed it to me. I've never seen such rude treatment, and along with the rude treatment, we waited 45 minutes, and still no food! After waiting five more minutes for her, we inquired where was the food. She says, "oh, ill put it in now" What the hell; we've been sitting here almost an hour and have jobs to return to. He begins to ask her why she didn't do it before, and she said, "I'll put a rush and it will be out in 5-10 minutes". He requests to speak with a manager, who is somewhat apologetic; she waives the cost for the appetizer, and we leave. I don't ever see myself returning-- We received very poor treatment and waited over an hour for an entrée, that never even arrived! read more
