Just like my liver is in health ruin, this spot is in financial ruin literally. You're having cocktails in a former bank vault folks. There's nothing more relaxing and romantic than having a cocktail amongst iron bars. It's giving... jail! I'm kidding. A very cool concept. I continue to go back. At night, the vault lights up and it's a vibe in there. We had about 30 minutes to chug down an old-fashioned given the dread of New York traffic so the service is great.

I recently visited this old haunt when I met with friends for pre-dinner drinks. An old bank vault, I've been to this hot spot numerous times especially when I worked in the area. From bar food to lunch and dinner, I've tried a lot. It's a cozy spot that can get crowded especially towards the end of the week. At least I'm assuming it still might be. I'm sure the regulars still drop by for that after work drink or two. Recommend.

The food was fine. The drinks weren't bad, but they weren't overly creative or mind-blowing. But the staff and management was AMAZING! So how did we get here? I made a last minute reservation on OpenTable on a Thursday night. I got there and the host tells me this was a mistake; that the app allowed me to reserve a table that was not available. He calls the manager, who tells me the back room has been prepared for an event, and somehow I was mistakenly able to reserve a table in this space. They were absolutely packed, so also keep that in mind when you make the decision to come here as well . . . it's in FiDi, so a lot of business people clogging the bar area for after-work drinks. Anyway . . . the manager went out of her way to make a place for me. I ended up sitting in a back corner in the event space (it didn't start until an hour and a half after my reservation). She actually apologized over and over about my "child in solitary" dining situation, but I think it worked out great! I was away from the crowd and the noise, and service was still really attentive and made sure I had everything I needed. I had the petite filet medallions served with broccolini and gruyere potato gratin. The medallions were cooked appropriately, medium as I asked, and weren't bad. Maybe a little more seasoning? The broccolini was charred perfectly and had just the right amount of crunch. The potatoes were pretty bland though. I had the New York cheesecake with Nilla wafer crust. It was pretty good! They also have cavatelli, ricotta ravioli, duck leg confit risotto, ahi tuna, scallops, blackened salmon, a wagyu burger. They have apps like charcuterie and cheese boards, pate, salads, tartare. They have a bar menu as well. Prices are moderate for New York. I had a few cocktails. Sweater Weather (dark rum, apple, maple, walnut, ginger)--a fall selection. I had the pearfect pearl (grey goose, pear, rosemary, ginger, lime). This was probably the cleanest and most refreshing. And then the people's margarita (blanco, lime, pineapple, agave). They also didn't rush me as people started to arrive (I was still out before the event started, but they didn't even ask me to leave). The decor here is pretty cool too. It's in an old bank vault. Would definitely return when I'm downtown. Thank you so much to the awesome staff who went out of their way to not let a faulty reservation ruin my plans!

    Sour, but delicious mocktail.

After a long walk at an exhibition, my daughter and I decided to have dinner at this cozy place. The atmosphere is very relaxed and the service is amazing. Our server was so patient with our questions about the menu. The drinks and dishes were delicious, too. It was nice to have a nice mother/daughter night out. We'll be back for more.

The ambiance was so cool. A restaurant in a bank vault is a unique concept! The food came out fast and was very delicious! Service was very attentive and friendly! Highly would recommend anybody who wants to have an intimate dinner or a fun outing with a group of friends!

I stopped in for happy hour. The bar area was fairly busy with the after work crowd. Service was great! The HH rose' wine was surprisingly good. It's not a large HH menu so I ordered food from the bar menu. The tuna tostadas were delicious. A decent amount of tuna for the price but a small portion. The tuna was very fresh. I couldn't get enough of the chipotle mayo. Perfect compliment to the dish. For an appetizer, the flavors were perfectly balanced. I will definitely be back. Not sure how I haven't found this place before. Walked by it a million times.... The old bank vault is really cool.

This is a pretty relaxing place inside a Vault. The staff was friendly and helpful. I had the Barrata . It was beautifully presented . The dish had an interesting variety of ingredients. I was freezing out so Hit Toddies were perfect.

I had booked a reservation here for dinner with my mom and stepdad as they are visiting New York City for the first time. I wanted to take them to a place where they could get a decent steak or burger and that wasn't too awfully pricey. I had done some research and it seemed this place fit the bill and also had a unique I'll beyond being in a bank vault. We arrived a few minutes before our reservation and we were seated in the bar area, it didn't look like the back dining room was open yet. Next time I would probably wait for a later reservation as trying to sit in the bar area and have a dinner was not a good idea. It was so obnoxiously loud in there with all of the after work crowd that we could not hear each other. My mother ended up super frustrated that we could not speak during our meal. The food was just OK, they said the fillet was very nice. The coq au vin really lacked flavor and my mahi was just OK. I really like seafood and I liked the variety of veggies in the broth, but it was just somewhat bland. the pricing wasn't too bad, my husband and my bill totaled about $100 before tip. I had one glass of wine and my husband had two beers. The service was really good. Food came out promptly so all of that was great.

Solid new American food spot. Restaurant is in a bank vault which is pretty cool and definitely gives FiDi vibes! Not much good food in FiDi, so this place feels like a godsend. Service left a little to be desired, but we had a big party so don't imagine it's the norm. Definitely go for the duck leg!

Cool for the photo opportunity, but I would say they need a charge in some way. Stopped here for a pre-dinner drink while in the area. Granted, we did stop on a Wednesday, they weren't very busy at all. I had a reservation but it wasn't really needed whatsoever. It is billed as a place where you dine in a vault - but it seemed like it was just a vault door out front and the vault had walls blown out and opened way up for a regular restaurant. Had a drink and some guac and chips. Can't speak to regular food but overall good.

This is a beautiful space and such a cool ambience! Set inside an old bank vault, it's a cool spot for pictures. The food and drinks were phenomenal and the service was fantastic. An easy walk to Wall Street or close by the subway, so its super easy to navigate to it.

What a great find in the Financial District! I actually just Googled places near WTC and came upon this historic and iconic restaurant. Set in an old vault with so much character and romance, this is a great spot for a company affair or just catching up for drinks. The food is really good with good portions. I had the traditional burger which was juicy and just right. The waitress was very accommodating and kept refilling our drinks. Definitely recommend this spot for a quiet place to get a good dinner.

I decided to try this place on my first ever trip to NYC. It was very good. They are housed inside of an old bank building and they keep a lot of the feel from that. They have an old bank vault when you walk in that lights up different colors. For my meal I had the cheeseburger. I didn't see anything else I really liked on the menu so I decided to play it safe. The burger was good and I'm glad I got it well done. My colleague had the burger but she has it medium well and it ended up being undercooked. I had a Hot Toddy to go with my meal.

    The Wagyu burger.

For my entree, I ordered the vodka rigatoni and a side of buttered broccoli. The vodka rigatoni was really good - liked the flavor and a decent size of pasta. The broccoli was really good for some reason to me. Also tried the truffle mac and cheese which was incredibly rich and tasted great. As a dessert, we had the chocolate pie which was dense, rich, and topped with a huge dollop of whipped topping. I really liked the atmosphere of the place, loud roaring 20s style with jazz playing. This is the first time in my 36 years of life that I had meatballs and lasagna at a restaurant. Both were excellent. The super thin pasta was tender. - Chrysanthemum salad - How have I never known that chrysanthemum salad could be so delicious? Someone else described the dressed as "bright" and I cannot think of a better way to describe the fresh taste. - Stuffed garlic flatbread - Reminiscent of artichoke dip baked in bread; good, but our least favorite item. - BBQ calamari - tender and flavorful For our main courses: - Sorpresine & Smoked Mussels - So much flavor on this "surprise" pasta. The combination of flavors was slightly unexpected, but everything worked beautifully together. The mussels were tender and added the perfect amount of smokiness to this dish. - Garganelli Giganti - The sauce and meatballs were perfection. I am very picky with sauce and this was really tasty. - Chicken Scarpariello - Veal "da Pepi" - This was the star (for me at least). I didn't know what to expect with speck, horseraddish, and banana peppers, but WOW. The veal cutlet was thin and tender. The breading was extremely crisp. Veal is very easy to dry out especially when this thin. - side of Charred Broccolini We all were able to share all of our items amongst the four of us which made it a great way to try so many different items on the menu. I also had a "Two Yoots" to drink. I was initially tickled by the My Cousin Vinny reference, but then felt I needed to try prosciutto washed rum. The rum mixed with min and cantaloupe very just as refreshing as I had hoped it to be. I wanted to try Nonna's nip, but I wanted to make sure I had enough room for all the food. My husband, parents, and I came in for lunch on a Sunday. This restaurant is tiny and it was packed, but service was excellent. I don't love the Open Table reservation situation, but that is about the only negative thing I have to say about our experience with Don Angie. San Sabino (their sister restaurant) is up next on our list!
