I'm particularly excited to write this review, because of how well the 5-star rating was earned by Trina Schmidt. My reviews aren't short, but they do paint a very clear picture of what you can expect from a service. I encourage you to read on if nothing else but to know what the benchmark looks like that all wedding coordinators should be compared to. My [now] wife and I met with Trina at a local wedding show approximately 1 year ahead of our wedding. When we met Trina it was immediately clear that she is nothing short of passionate and devoted to her craft. The energy that she projects suddenly makes the daunting task of putting the wedding that you've been dreaming about seem like a stroll in the park. My wife and I spent a tremendous amount of time trying to find someone with the intelligence and skill set in this space to make our dreams a reality. No one that we interviewed came close to our expectations until we met with Trina. Better still, Trina's skill set was equally matched by her calm, kind, and inviting nature. Never have my wife and I worked on such large and important task like this, and Trina was able to make the entire experience effortless. At that particular point in time our vision of what we wanted for our wedding was a mere flicker of an idea. Trina was able to nurture what we had into a well-rooted and clear plan. When I first got engaged I thought I could do this on my own. After about a month of searching for vendors and seeing how much work goes into a wedding, I knew I needed a coordinator. I needed Trina Schmidt! Having Trina as our coordinator was the best decision we ever made throughout our planning process. She made sure to keep everyone on the same page and emailed all my bridal party, our family and all our vendors of the details of rehearsal dinner and details of the wedding day schedule. I found Trina through the Open House at the Center Club. As a bride, I planned everything by myself along with Trina's recommendation and no other help. We had a limited budget and Trina was great working with the budget. We got the basic package and added the design package also. We recently moved out of State, so Trina worked with us through mostly emails and I have to say Trina was even more wonderful on the phone and especially in person. Trina was very understanding and maintaining professional attitude at all time. It is helpful to have someone who doesn't join the bridezilla emotional roller coaster with you. She keeps things rolling forward. She was there with the determination to create a wedding the way I envisioned it. Trina didn't know this, but I was literally got out of an argument with my husband right before our rehearsal practice, and after practicing with Trina, we were all happy again. In person, she provided great comfort to just being next to her, and I knew everything was going to be okay. She doesn't hand over her email to her assistant and let them talk to me... I don't know how she does it... but she was always available to address my concerns. Trina had great design taste! Very classy and she made sure to keep your taste classy and not going out of control. Trina helped me to find vendors and discuss contracts and design ideas with them. My husband and I were mostly filling out the contracts. What you need to know is to trust Trina's recommendation for vendors! You really get what you are paying for from the vendors. The vendors Trina recommended were not only professional but they also went the distance to make sure I have a beautiful wedding with happy guests! When planning, my guest counts and dinner entrée reservation changed at least 15x, and Trina was very patience with that. She also made sure everyone/wedding participants up to date with their responsibility. On the wedding day, everything went according to the plan and I didn't even have to remind anyone or make any phone call. All I had to do was to look pretty and be happy. Trina sees every detail and make sure I was comfortable. At the end of the day, all of my guests raved about the wedding and they said my wedding was the best wedding that they ever experienced. Don't spend your time looking into anything further because all you will find is someone who is unprofessional and unreliable. This is definitely not the type of person who want to hire on your wedding day--one of the most important days of YOUR life!!! So why this low rating? Well, initially, we actually liked her a lot. So much that we wanted to sign with her and have been wanting to finish the contract. We screened over 5 wedding coordinators and thought she had a great personality and understood the theme we were trying to accomplish. She took the time to address our questions. And, the price was right. However, as we were in contract phase and in the midst of finalizing the wording of the contract, she disappeared on vacation for 3 months!!! It's only 2 days ago, after trying to get in touch of her multiple times to finish the contract, that she e-mailed us apologizing for the delay in getting back to us, but she is thinking about signing with someone else so she will not be able to work with us. That's right!!! She is thinking about signing with someone else who has not even signed yet!!! Why would anyone do that??? MMmm...slam dunk + good ethics vs. potential to make more money and bad reputation. What is the type of person who want on your wedding day???? The problems with the sitation are that: 1) She did not have the decency to call and inform us about the status of the contract 2) She did not call us to let us know there was someone else interested in our date 3) She did not give first right of refusal 4) She did not even offer or suggest someone else who may be of help. Orange County and LA County are areas bursting with wedding coordinators. It's a factory and a very lucrative market. Every vendor will want your business. Every wedding coordinator will tell you their best testimonials. But be smart. Shop around. Ask questions, read blogs, and talk with others who have use them or interacted with them. To have a wedding can be an expensive endeavor and you don't want to let someone like Trina spoil your special day. The best part about this is that we found this about her sooner than later and have found an even better wedding coordinator who will do it for less! Trina was UNVBELIEVABLE from start to finish. November 20, 2010 was a perfect night for my husband's 40th birthday party. My husband is always the life of the party and always on the dance floor, so I wanted to throw a party as if we were hittin the club! My husband walked in and his mouth just dropped. He could not believe how the barren room had been transformed into a Vegas nightbclub.
