I had brow shaping. The result was okay ... it wasn't bad. But what bugged me a little was she was not very friendly. She didn't introduce herself ... didn't talk to me at all ... don't remember if she even said bye ... the whole waxing process took less than 10 minutes. Although I have been getting waxes for years this was my first time experiencing trim. The salon was adorable and very clean. The energy was comfortable and everyone was super friendly. Marisa did my brazilian and she was fantastic! She was so fun to talk to that I almost forgot I was even getting a wax! She used a combination of hard wax and regular which made the process as painless as possible. I have been to many other salons for bikini waxes and in comparison Trim was a top notch experience. Marisa at Trim is amazing! I have been living in Chicago for 7 years and started coming here for occasional waxing needs. All of the people who work here are good, but Marisa is great! I started seeing her about 6months ago to start fixing my eyebrows before my wedding. She helped me grow them out and reshape them with waxing and tinting and they are so much better now! She also did my pre-wedding brazilian wax and it was the best I have ever had. She is super nice, very professional, and makes an otherwise awkward and painful thing not bad at all. Wow this is a long overdue review! I got a Full Brazilian wax done by Marrisa on June 30th, 2014 and may I say she did a wonderful job waxing me! This place uses hard wax which is better than the other wax because it pulls the hair off way better! It was also my first Full Brazilian wax, so I was extremely nervous going in there, I was especially nervous that I wouldn't be clean enough down there, but luckily they offer wipes so you can freshen up! So when she first started putting the wax on, the heat of the wax surprised me, I thought it was a little hot but that's just because I'm not used to that amount of heat down there. When she ripped off the first wax strip it hurt a lot, but quickly after ripping off the strip she pressed down on the area she waxed and instantly the pain subsided! Every time she waxed off a strip she would repeat this process, and I would never feel any lingering pain after she ripped off a strip. Which I thought was really great! All the while she waxing me we just talked about life which made me even more relaxed and comfortable with her waxing me. Finally when she was done I felt no pain, maybe it's because I have kinda of a medium pain threshold, but I did feel little tingles of pain after I left but other than that I was fine. After she was done I was free of hair not even any strays either, which is awesome because it was really soft when I touched it which surprised me. It was soft like a baby's bottom. I would recommend Marrisa to anybody that goes to trim wax! Well its July 16th, 2014 and the hair has started growing back in little stubbs and yes it is itching because it's growing. I'll be due soon for another Full Brazilian wax and I will get done by Marrisa again cause she's so great at what she does. All props to a wonderful Full Brazilian wax goes to her! I would go here every time I needed my eyebrows done if it wasn't a little pricey, I think for the Lincoln Park area its standardly price but where I live I don't see eyebrow waxing for anymore than $10. read more

I first started out going to Danielle who did a decent job with my brows and brazilians. The last time i called to make an appointment I didnt request a specific person and was given an appointment with Desiree. From a person who has been waxing for 6+ years, i must say that this was the worst waxing experience of my life. For my brazilian, she used a combination of both hard and soft wax and had multiple strips going at once. Since this was the most painful wax of my life I figured it would at least be quick. Instead I felt like i was on the table for hours. When she was finished I had leftover patches everwhere. And hair started growing back within a few days. Paying 55 bucks for a wax you think I would be hair free for a bit longer. It is been a week and my skin is still very sensitive. Also, i came out of there with crooked 'brows. I was excited to go to Trim for a full leg waxing after reading all the good reviews here on Yelp ( even though they were mostly about Brazilian waxing but still, I thought leg waxing would be just as good) The place was easy to find with plenty of meters around, When I walked in I was greeted immediately and given the usual paperwork to fill out. Right after that I went into the room to change and I was ready for the wax, by the way I have to say my room rocked, I loved the decoration, especially the studs on the wall. Because I get waxed a lot I am used to it, it didn't hurt. But I was kind of bored, I mean I didn't think the girl that was waxing me was that interested in talking with anybody, she would be asking questions here and there. Anyway I was done in half an hour or so, my legs "felt" smooth after she tweezed any hair that didn't come out with waxing ( this was weird because I didn't have anybody tweeze whatever is left, before) there was some rash, which I was surprised to see because I rarely get rashes from waxing....I said ok it'll go away I guess. After that I was ready to pay, and honestly I was happy to see they have some salon/spa style body scrubs, and I was willing to get one after I smelled them, because as we all know some of those scrubs can be nasty-smelling! I felt like the girl was pressuring me to buy something, as if I had to or I cannot leave the place...I guess I stood there listening to her for 10 minutes and I even interrupted and said oh I'd like to get a scrub but she kept on going....After I went home, I touched my legs to see how smooth they are, they were NOT! And in a few days I would be on a plane on my way to vacation, and I certainly didn't want to deal with hair removal there! It felt like the day after shaving your legs! And if you looked closely you could see really really tiny hairs coming out. I am disappointed what can I say...I thought the whole point of waxing was to take the hair from its root... read more

I first heard about Trim on Yelp, so I wanted to review them after having a great experience. this was my first time being waxed, and it was incredible! A few days ago I called to make an appointment last minute, and wasn't sure they would be able to accommodate me, but they were! They were able to fit me in right away, even though it was a late-night appointment. As soon as I walked in, I feel in love with how cute the place was! I was greeted by the receptionist who immediately offered me hot tea and water; and we talked for a little while I was waiting, and she made me feel completely relaxed, (I even left with a cute new pair of underwear!) I can't remember the name of the girl who waxed me (sorry!) but she did an incredible job, I was so smooth! I loved my experience at Trim. I was positive that it was going to be terrible, and hurt, but it was great. TRIM is one of the best waxing salons I have ever been to. HANDS DOWN! It's clean, affordable, the decor is great, it's conveniently located (only a few blocks from my place), and best of all, the service is FANTASTIC! I highly recommend Desiree. I work during the day, and they're open late (until 10PM), so, I'm always able to get a late night appointment. Desiree has been waxing me for over 4 years. I get a great Brazilian every time. She makes me feel comfortable, and we have great conversation. While getting a Brazilian can sometimes be awkward, Desiree always make me feel at ease. She explains every waxing process in full, so, that you always know what's coming next. She always makes sure she uses the right products for your skin type. I have sensitive skin, and she always remembers what to use on me. She's extremely efficient at what she does. Before you know it, she's done, and you barely even noticed! i had the WORST EXPERIENCE at the lincoln park location! when i sat down the girl waxing my eyebrows asked me what i wanted and i said just a clean up. afterwards cacee at the front desk tried to charge me for a shaping. i told her i just got a clean up. she had NO patience and started yelling at me! i guess its their policy to do a shaping for every first time customer. noone ever told me that! i couldnt believe she yelled at me. i have never had such awful customer service. then someone from the back came out (probably her boss) and she quickly apologized.
