It's been a while since we've been to trident and thought we'd pop back in and have some lunch. We ordered the Calamari, fish and chips and the steakhouse burger. We would have given this a 5 start review if not for the service. Food was great, although if you order an appetizer you'd expect it BEFORE your meal not brought all together with your meal. So that was a bust. Waitress seemed to not care and didn't bother to check on us. It was right after lunch so it wasn't slammed so not sure why she had the attitude she did. But the food was great, calamari was nice and crispy and cooked well, came with marinara and cocktail sauce, and fish and chips was amazing. Crispy and delicious and very meaty, and the burger. OMG the blue cheese and the horseradish sauce was perfect. Definitely my new burger. All in all food was great, AC worked great, had lots of TV to enjoy and was relaxing. Prices could be better, but the service is completely lacking. If that's one thing that will mess up a good food experience and that's poor customer service. Although we'd recommend the food, be prepared to wait and to get lack luster service. This trident is definitely better than the pizza pub trident, however the pizza pub trident has way better service but lousy food. That's just this man's opinion. read more

I usually like trident but this location is worst in quality. I'm not usually one to leave a bad review but this experience was lacking. When we arrived it took 5 minutes to be seated- there was no hostess in sight. It then took another 5 minutes to be greeted. We ordered a simple dozen tenders and it look over 40 minutes to get them. Our server came by twice the whole time we were there. Once to tell us that our food was coming out soon and then we waited another 20 minutes to receive our tenders. When we got the tenders they were burnt and very thin. The tenders were more like filets. read more

I had a bad experience with this place. In recent days, I was in the area and I google and I was near by Trident, and I was like let's give it a try, so the minute I walked in, another person came in and we both checked in, and the lady said with an attitude "You can sit anywhere you want"; so I sat and the other gentleman sat behind me at the bar area, and he was immediately served by the waitress, and I was there waiting for 5 minutes and no one came to check and asked.. " The minute I stand to leave, someone came and said I'm sorry, etc.. I was like forget it.. is ok. Bad service. read more

The Trident Grills & Pizza Pub, The Original Trident on Speedway, has a subtle East Coast/ocean flare - but not for obvious reasons. (Is there an obvious reason for an East Coast vibe in the middle of the desert?) The original owner was originally from Maryland and wanted to bring a touch of the East Coast flavors and culture to his new home (which is well past 20 years). This was a recommendation from our hotel, and was a good tip. We were there the late afternoon before an U of A basketball game. The dark wood interior and raised bar, gave me that "local" establishment feel even though I was from out of state. The place was fairly full and the staff was quite busy. Yet the crowd was orderly and not too loud. The parking was manageable considering it was game night. We had their Fish and Chips, the smaller size of 2 fillets. These are Alaskan Cod with a very light and crunchy beer batter. The batter soaked up the malt vinegar quite well and still maintained its crunch. The cod was light and not oily. The fries were average in flavor, yet were still crunchy. The side coleslaw had the expected mayo based dressing, but lightly coated - not drowning in the dressing. We had the Kalua Pork tacos. The pork was cooked well - moist and had a nice chewiness to the bite. The pork flavoring, in and of itself, was quite good. We asked for dressing on the side, which was slightly sweet with a mild cilantro flavor. The dressing and pork paired well. You can see the flat top grill marks on the tortillas - a nice touch. read more

One word, five stars chicken tenders. Okay, that's two words but yum!! We absolutely love the chicken tenders here and can't believe the portion size you get for the price! We come down to Tucson often, and this is now one of the places we like to frequent. You also can't go wrong with the blackberry lemon drop. Don't let the "fish" name or trident grill scare you away, they have so much to offer even for the diner who doesn't enjoy seafood! read more

Location on Craycroft was too noisy. More a bar hang out than restaurant. Location by UA much nicer.

1 recommend this bar & grill! We came to watch the Steelers game, they have 12 tv's-only one was playing the Steelers game. Our waitress Rachel aka my new best friend got the game on a tv we could see. Amazing service & the classic Bloody Mary & the pretzel were great! Fun raffle at halftime. Will definitely be back! Thank you Rachel for fighting to keep us here! We didn't want to leave! read more

Always a fun experience! The service is good and I've never had a bad meal. It's a Sports Bar so the energy level is amped up.

Came here for a girls night out during the week and was so glad we chose this place. They had a nice selection of happy hour items and drinks and we were able to select a few different items to share. Their sweet potato fries were soooo good and fresh! Onion rings, chicken skewers, potato skins and pretzels were all perfectly cooked and great "bar" food to snack on. Our server was very attentive and made some drink recommendations. Will be sure to return for our post work outings or whenever we want to catch a game. Plenty of TVs around. read more

Trident grill is one of the restaurant bar combos in Tucson. In my two years of living here I have been to most of their various locations around town and have never been disappointed by the food. The service can vary pretty greatly, (Trident II off of Swan has horrible service) but overall, it has never been bad enough to stop me from keeping this as a go to option. Personally, I love the Nashville Hot Chicken Sliders, but I have eaten my way through most of their menu and have not found anything I wouldn't eat. The cost is very reasonable, and they have a great beer selection if that is what you are looking for. TL:DR - Inconsistent service keeps them from being 5 stars, but great food at a good price read more

We are Trident regulars and are here or at one of their locations at least once a week (just throwing that out there). I love the atmosphere and when they host Geeks Who Drink. I normally don't like sitting at tables so we will wait for a booth to open because they're so comfy and add to the whole Trident experience. For starters make sure you order the Calamari (make sure you ask for extra sauce and lemons) and hot wings! Then proceed to either a burger, BLT, Mac and cheese or salmon. The fries are so good and seasoned perfectly. As for drinks, I stick to my good ol' iced tea. p.s don't forget the fries. Keep it saucy, megggs44 read more

Interesting fact: Trident's owner, Nelson Miller, is a retired U.S. Navy Seal and still trains Seals at the Pinal Air Park in Marana. In fact, he knows and helped train the same Seals that tracked down bin Laden. Trident has been proudly serving Tucson since 2001. With a pub like atmosphere and an absolutely fantastic menu, it has a full bar and 24 draughts! We ordered a Cuban Grilled Cheese, a Philly Cheesestake, wings and a grilled chicken pesto sandwich. Everything was very good! Please support local businesses! I wasn't sure what to expect from this quaint little place. Fish tacos were only $8.50, so I thought they'd be small, so ordered shrimp tacos, too. The tacos were huge and were so delicious. They came with cole slaw on them and I didn't try the salsa the came with them. These were some of the best tacos I've ever had. My dining partners both got the fish and chips and they raved about them, too. read more

Nothing special. Lots of seating. Friendly staff. Food comes out slow. Not a place to go out of your way for.

We were pretty hungry after the Reid Park Zoo so searched for something close and Trident Grill was it. Service was great and food was very good. More than we could eat. Highly recommend. Lots of food choices and they all looked good.

I've seen this place growing in Tucson for some time now and finally stopped and ate there. Well I can definitely see why they are expanding so well. It was busy and the wait time for food is a little long, but it was easy to see what took the extra few minutes to get food. It was so well made! Every detail was covered with excellence. I dont remember our server's name, but she was the best server I have ever had. The serving sizes were huge. Normally, I always finish my plate, but not this time. I had the super Reuben and it was excellent. We had a side bowl of mac and cheese that was outstanding. The prices were good and the menu is very extensive. I can see making this restaurant one of my new favorites. Truly sets the standard for how restaurants should be run. read more

I actually used to come here all the time. I left and moved back to Tucson. When the pandemic hit, my wife and I were quickly on the look out for restaurants that could do good take out. We love to go out to eat! I remembered this Trident location from back in the day. So, we decided to order. Since then we've ordered take out at least 5 times! Why? Because they do an awesome job. Here's some of the things we've had: Awesome, huge cheeseburger with fries. 9/10. Cooked perfectly every time with fresh hot fries. Fried calamari 8/10. It would be better if it was served with something other than cocktail sauce. It's still awesome for take out! Boiled shrimp 9/10. Tasty and always served with sauce and lemons. Seafood platter (captains platter?) 10/10. Ton of seafood all fresh and crunchy. Cake 8/10. We've had mixed experiences with takeout at other places. These folks are incredibly consistent with high quality and great service! read more

The food is always top-notch, especially the fish tacos. Friendly service every time I've been there.

No ketchup needed! Let me preface this review by saying that I absolutely love an amazing burger. Many burger joints serve good burgers. Trident serves a masterpiece in their Steakhouse Burger. A soft and grilled brioche bun starts off this burger journey as the base. Although you could savor the taste of the grass fed beef all by itself, Trident Grill perfectly pairs grilled onions and mushrooms, blue cheese, horseradish, and an amazing balsamic sauce that awakens your taste buds around every turn. On the cook, I asked for medium, and the patty came out pink in the middle and succulent throughout each bite. Instead of fries, I opted for the Mac and Cheese. This side did NOT disappoint! The cheddar was toasted on top to create a brownish hue that you can almost taste just by looking at it. Underneath the layer of baked on cheese...shell noodles in a light creamy cheddar cheese sauce. Awesome. My taste buds have been worked over today...I wish I had room for ice cream! read more

Good service, fun time, great food. Classic place to grab some grub and grog near U of A.

I am writing this review not about the restaurant or the food which was pretty decent I am writing because of the horrible way we were treat by our server. I now know she was from Colorado. She was, I think, wanting to become an EMT or was trained for it. She wants to become a firefighter. There's a lot to do where she came from. She is trying to get in shape. I know all of this because she was having this conversation with her "new friends" sitting right behind us...she was exchanging phone # web sites laughing loudly and completely ignoring us...after more than 10 minutes listening to them my partner finally said excuse me, could we have our bill...she rolled her eyes and said something snarky to her "new friends" and turned away. Then her new friend started lecturing us to be patient, as she was making new friends and we should be patient too. I asked for a to go box for my fries and an entire taco she came back and threw a tiny box at me that just barely held the fries...I was so angry I tipped my plate over left the food and did not leave her a tip. We eat out often and have eaten here before but will never go back. Having been in the restaurant business we understand servers work for their tips and we tip 20-22% every time. This was absolutely THE WORST server we have ever encountered in Tucson...she told her new friends her name was jo...having owned and run restaurants if this were my place I would have fired her on the spot!! Absolutely ruined an otherwise great day! Horriibe horrible server read more

I had the wings , 6 with honey chipolet and 6 with trident bbq sauce ! The flavor of the sauce was good but the wings were Way over cooked and hard to eat ! Food was excellent very tasty cool, good portions cool environment! Will be coming back soon.

I can say I love this local chain. While some locations seem to be better than others. I should have stuck to the normal few things I as are my go to eats....stay away from the nachos Priced high, salsa is odd tasting for being a salsa town, the cheese is shredded and hardens up quick. Lots of dry chips, the amount of onions and size of red onion pieces were on them is ridiculous, fresh tomatoes seemed to be cut odd and it was like a layer of tomatoes , onions, and solidified cheese soggy under neath piled cold shredded pork on top. Very hard to eat and get down. Those were 15 bucks for the large half order. read more
