Arrived just after 11am and by 11:30 all tables were taken. Very cool mugs and many of them, hanging around the bar area. Great music plays, not too loud though and with it, great atmosphere. Now for the best part, ordered the Philly Cheesesteak with fries. I was blown away from first bite. The steak and veggies were done to perfection and the amount of cheese added into the equation made for the right amount, not over powerful. The overall texture was very scrumptious. Mac and cheese baked and fresh ... burger perfect cook and amazingly fresh flavor. Add to this the fact they split our plate and baked each of our Mac and cheese separate AND gave us each a pickle spear. The spent cents to make is feel like we will come here at least once a week ... and we live 45 min away!! Beer ... fresh, amazing and dark. We are in town from Dallas, Texas for a soccer tournament. We had a late game, so finding a restaurant that stayed open until midnight was our top priority. We also wanted a place suitable for teenage girls, with a menu full of different options. Trident Grill was spot on! Would you be surprised to hear that a sports bar in Tucson is known for their delicious salads and seafood? As the wise Julie Chen always says, "expect the unexpected" (yeah that's a reality TV show reference and I apologize). Trident Grill's owner hails from Maryland and brought some very decent seafood with him, a rarity in the desert. However, if you are a normal person and didn't come to a sports bar for food with low cholesterol, have no fear! The burgers and other typical sports bar snacks were all great. Our waitress was very friendly and helpful, and made some food suggestions for us that were once again, impressive. My personal suggestion is the fried pickles. Yes, it's a simple snack but we all know simplicity is the ultimate sophistication (use that line next time you want to justify ordering fried food). A small footnote that might interest some: trivia is held here every Wednesday at 8 PM. So taking a trip to Trident Grill can be a positive experience for the body, and the mind. read more

Had i written this review on my first visit here it would have been 5 stars. Ive been to two other Trident locations and have never had a problem. Yesterday my gf wasnt feeling well and needed to raise her blood sugar. We were shopping next door so i called in a Pick Up order for two Cod tacos. When i arrived i was in a hurry so i paid and rushed to get the food to her. The bag was given to me tied tightly so i didnt smell it but when she opened it the smell hit us like a sledge. It was bad. However, because she was in a pinch and we had eaten there before, she took a chance and ate it anyways. She got food poisoning and skin signs of elevated toxin levels. I was shaking with how upset i was. Will never return to this location. How can a chef knowingly serve that? read more

My husband and I are Newport News / Hampton Va natives and to say we miss "our" Chesapeake Bay and Atlantic Ocean seafood prepared the southeast way is an understatement! Typical sports bar atmosphere - multiple large screen TV's lots of people talking .... BUT the food as promised was not your typical sports bar fare. We ate light so we could try a variety of choices. We had seafood of course and gumbo. Everything was excellent. Scallops are one of my husband's favorite dishes. He savored each bite. Let me start off with the food was killer. I got the paleo bowl and my boyfriend got the half order of nachos. The paleo bowl had the perfect combo of shredded carrots, sweet potatoes, lettuce, chicken, and some salsa. The nachos were heavenly, of course. Can't go wrong with cheese on top of chips! My only complaints are that the beer list wasn't fantastic. I was expecting more local items and all that stood out to me was Barrio blonde and the Trident brew. I saw beers like blue moon and bud but would have appreciated more local options. This is a true local spot. Hence my want for more local beers. We went on a Wednesday when Geeks who drink was about to start. The restaurant itself was friendly however the crowd was not. I can only assume that most people go here regularly and are used to the same faces. I would probably avoid here on Wednesday's around 6:30-8pm. Stopped here on a recommendation from a local salesperson. Place was packed after Friday lunch hour which was a good sign. Sat at the bar. Bartender was super friendly and helpful with menu questions. She made great recommendations. Food came fast and was hot. Portions were gigantic! And it was very good. We're had the Cubano and the BLT. One sandwich would have been fine to share. Onion rings and fries were great. Place was clean and tidy. We need a Trident Grill in north Phoenix!! lol! Great place. Trident overall, is so amazing and unbeatable. I wish they would even expand to other places! I've been dozens of times, to all locations and mostly had a good experience. The portions are always huge but this time my salad had barely any chicken on it. Other than that the drinks were great and everyone seemed to love their food. One strange part, after 5 minutes or so of the server dropping the check on our tables she came back and preceded to tell us that "she wants to check out now so she can go" but the way she phrased it was kind of strange and impolite. It was sort of implying that we need to leave. I'm a server too, so I understand when you're cut you want to go home, but she could have said it in a much better way. It's always fun to visit your old college stomping grounds and the bars that surrounded your adolescence. Trident Grill is exactly that for me and I hadn't been back in over a decade. I was surprised to find the place still lively, in fact it looked better than I remembered. A few of us mid 2000 grads bellies up to the bar and started right where we left off. How you ask? With the 10 minute challenge of course. A shot, beer and mixed drink in 10 minutes was the game over a decade ago, so why not now?! We also ordered a bunch of bar bites that were a lot better than I thought they'd be! I especially liked the buffalo chicken sliders, fried pickles and soft pretzel. Yum. I went here for a post Comedy show late night meal. The menu was bar food of salads, sandwiches, burgers and appetizers. There are TV's in every direction with all sorts of sports playing. I unique feature of Trident Bar n Grill are the 100's of steins hanging over the bar. You can order a drink that comes with the pewter stein and take it home to customize it. Then bring it back and it will live at the bar for you to drink out of when you dine there. Pretty cool. It was a bit too loud and so the combination of fans cheering, TV's playing and it being a late night for me was making me wonder if my timing for coming was just off. We had good service and the food was OK. I told a friend I was headed over, and they highly recommended ordering the Maryland Crab cakes. So as soon as I sat down I saw the menu had changed and there were no crab cakes. Boo. Once you get excited about something and it's sort of taken away it was hard for my heart to move on. My husband ordered peel and eat shrimp which he liked and I ordered their Cajun burger; a burger topped with slaw and cajun sausage. For a person who likes all things New Orleans, this one was not for me. I could see many tables filled with groups of students having a great time and there were guys hanging outside near their motorbikes having fun. Trident is a solid choice. The first time I came here, I was expecting something other than just a bar. Something a bit more elevated. With items like scallops and filet on their menu, I'm not sure you could blame me. I had known that a few friends had come here to watch MMA fights before, but I'm not sure what I was thinking. When we walked in, I saw that it is, in fact, just a bar. We were still a bit jaded, however, and started our order with scallops topped with blue cheese. I liked these better than my wife did, but we both felt they were completely not worth the price. Roughly 5 scallops each about the size of a quarter, for about $16. I would agree on that price provided the scallops were of a normal size. After that, my original thought of filet for a main course slid back slightly into reality and I decided that maybe a gourmet burger would be a better choice. With the waitress's endorsement, my decision was sealed and I got the brawt. This is a pork-patty burger with sauerkraut and maple dijon mustard. The burger as a whole was disappointingly dry, although that maple mustard was fantastic. We both left feeling as though we had ordered the wrong thing, and figured we'd be back again with a more late-night bar feel in mind. Its a good thing we did, because that's exactly what this place is really good at. In fact, I have found what is so far my favorite burger in Tucson (which was tough to say since Red Garter has a close second), but the Voodoo Daddy is just one incredible burger and right up my alley. Andouille sausage on a standard burger with american cheese, cajun mustard, and slaw comes together in a wonderfully messy bite of deliciousness. I've had it twice and tried the mac and cheese for a side last time. I've had better mac, but you can never go wrong with fries instead. My wife likes the veggie burgers here because they're fresh, not stale like you may get at other places, and they are cooked right. We both like that you can order beer by the pint, mug (BIG mug) or pitcher. Last time we both had snake bite mugs-- a good choice. The fact that this place has a kitchen open until midnight, makes this an easy decision for people like me who don't get off work until 10pm. Been to Trident before (mainly for a drink) but went last night with an old friend from the Navy. Haven't seen each other in 18 years but he was in town for a night so Trident seemed like a good location with great beer. (Absolutely nothing better than sharing some sea stories over a few pints). We were lucky we got there early because this place got PACKED (on a Wednesday night, who knew?!). Apparently it's GEEKS WHO DRINK night and it was kinda hysterical to watch (but we didn't participate). Stella on tap, seats at the bar, happy hour specials - not bad for a quick reunion. Love all the military unit stickers all over the place and the SEAL Trident in the bar - reminded me a lot of a few places I've gone to on North Island and around the world. Food was typical bar food - some guy down the bar from us got the biggest hamburger I've ever seen (it was literally like a foot high) but it looked amazing. Had chicken tenders (was WAY too much for me but good) while Rob got the fish tacos, which were so good that he got two orders. I have been to Trident now about 5-6 times. Here are my thoughts: - I like the atmosphere in here, it's very homey, comfortable, and friendly in here! - They have a solid beer selection - They always have the UA games/football on, so it's a great place to watch a game - From what I hear, they have great trivia! - the service is very good! The staff have always been very attentive. - Real Maryland crab served here! My Dad, a native, confirmed this with the waitress :) - I've had better good meals here than not, but I have had an under cooked burger and mac and cheese that was sub-par. I would recommend the stuffed mushrooms, mozzarella sticks, and chicken tenders. Overall, for a bar, the food here is awesome! read more

This is strictly a bar review-- I've yet to sample food here. If you are a Redskins fan, you will feel very welcome here! My classmates and I frequent Trident weekly after class. A robust selection of beers on tap and mixed drinks is sure to please everyone. The friendly bartender remembers our names, our drink preferences, and always possesses a goofy joke to entertain us with.
