Narrowing down all the options is insane, nobody can beat NY when it comes to how many very good pizza spots there are. We'd heard & read a lot about this spot so for sure needed to have it on the list of stops for us to go to. The employees at L'industrie were extremely helpful in getting us information on how to order ahead to make our time effective on the tour. Then when I called in the order earlier that morning they were once again super nice & helpful. L'industrie is right on the corner there when you come into the Williamsburg area, right across the street from a quickie mart/liquor store type of spot. There was tons of people waiting outside to get their slices, and the inside was wall to wall packed. Luckily they've got an order pickup window too. This spot ended up being my favorite of the ones we tried. The flavoring of the ingredients here was to me what set them apart, also the undercarriage of the pizza was firm, not floppy which I'm also a fan of too. We got a slice with burrata too, so good. 100% would come back here and highly recommend, you're not going to find better pizza in NY in my opinion, that's saying something.

But hey, we got a table, so the sacrifice was supposed to be worth it. It wasn't. Lucali is BYOB, which is fine in theory. My party brought two bottles of prosecco, fully prepared for a cozy, rustic evening. The server kindly offered to pop the first bottle, then brought out our glassware: heavy, standard water glasses, fresh out of the commercial dishwasher and literally piping hot. There is a special kind of absurdity in pouring crisp, ice-cold prosecco into a glass that feels like it was just pulled from the depths of hell. To top it off, nobody offered to keep our second bottle chilled. Minor detail, sure, but for a place with this level of cult status, the low-effort service immediately set the tone. To give credit where it's due, the ambiance is legitimately cool. It's dimly lit, atmospheric, and feels like step-back-in-time Brooklyn kitchen. Watching the pizza makers roll out dough using empty wine bottles before shoving them into the roaring brick oven gives off that warm, "Nonna's kitchen" charm. You want to love it. Then the food arrives, and the illusion shatters. Our server gave us the bare minimum rundown: "We have pizza, calzones, and tonight's special pasta." Zero detail, zero enthusiasm. Just under an hour into our meal, after overhearing the hostess realize she'd botched the table rotation, our server came over with an update: they had overbooked and needed our table. Her gracious solution? "You're welcome to pour the rest of your prosecco into your glasses and finish it outside!" The remaining, warm, prosecco that is... Let's recap the math: two hours waiting on a sidewalk at 2 PM, five hours of waiting for the reservation time, warm glasses for cold bubbles, middle-of-the-road pizza, and a boot out the door in under sixty minutes because they messed up their own seating chart.
