We had dinner here tonight during one of our last evenings in Cleveland before heading back home. Since I'm in town for surgery and still wasn't feeling 100% up to dining in, we opted for takeout. When we arrived to pick up our food, the restaurant had a great atmosphere and welcoming vibes. The staff was friendly and pleasant to interact with, and their extensive menu offered plenty of tempting options. I ordered the Melting Chimichanga with cilantro rice, and it was absolutely delicious. The queso drizzled on top was the perfect touch, and I thoroughly enjoyed every bite. My mom chose the "Pick Two" combo with a chicken burrito and ground beef enchiladas -- she found both dishes flavorful and loved her meal. My step-dad went with the Chori Pollo, which he also really enjoyed. He mentioned that it would have been even better with an extra helping of queso. The chips and salsa included with our order were excellent as well -- fresh and full of flavor. Overall, we had a fantastic experience and would definitely visit again next time we're in Cleveland. Thank you for a great meal!

Delicious and kinda healthy food tonight for dinner. Super tasty very spicy coconut shrimp pineapple tacos. Tasty not very spicy Camerones yucatecos with plenty of veggies and rice.

We wanted to try a New Mexican restaurant so we find this on Yelp and it had good reviews. We were seated quickly for a Friday night. The booth we were seated in seat was completely caved in. The lights were so dim and we could barely see the menu. Our server came over to greet us, however she spoke so quietly I had to have her repeat herself several times to understand what she was asking. I order a Michelada with Modelo Especial and she provided it with Modelo Negra which made the beer dark. The chips and salsa came out and the salsa tasted like tomato sauce. Our food came out quickly. I ordered the soup and it was warm, and super salty. The biarria quesadilla was just meat barely cheese. My boyfriend said the chicken in chicken burrito was good but the tostada was made from a broke taco shell not a tostada shell. Not sure we will be back anytime soon.

In the time it took between our orders I finished and had time to write this - red flag...read review for more

Behind an attractive interior and slightly below average food quality lies the Spector of poor service. This place was an easy walk from our hotel. We were seated quickly and ordered. The waitress struggled repeating our order back- it was the tip of the iceberg. My order arrived alone, quickly but missing the black beans. Our second entree arrived about five minutes later but it was wrong. Another five minutes and it arrived. Beans gave new dimension to bland. I'd not come here by choice, maybe if someone else paid.

My favorite Mexican restaurant in the area. The best margaritas without a question! Come here all the time, service is always stellar. It feels like an authentic Mexican restaurant and I enjoy the decor. Highly recommend!

Not recommended. This was a 2nd visit and it hasn't improved. I ordered the Chile Relleno & Chicken Enchilada combo. The Chile Relleno was not deep fried, rather the pepper was stuffed with a log of cheese and I am assuming broiled. The cheese was not melted, the pepper was crunchy, and overall barely warm. The chicken enchilada was not fully stuffed ... maybe half stuffed ... and again, barely warm. My companion ordered the quesadilla sampler and received a chicken quesadeilla. She asked when she placed the order if it came with sour cream and the server said, yes. Well, it came with sour cream drizzle. My companion had to flag down our server and ask for sour cream which was brought. The server never asked if we were satisfied with our meals and since I returned mine with the poblano uneaten, she should have had a clue that something was wrong. Then again, so should we have known better as the restaurant was almost empty when we arrived at 12:30. If you have a hankering for mexican, try somewhere else.

Great customer service, food portions were plentiful and Mexican cocktail drinks were made with perfection! Location is conveniently close to everything nearby From retail plazas, interstate highways and local hospital(s). In overall, the service may be slow at times but always feel free to wave or give a signal for the servers to arrive to your table. other than that, the Tres Portillos restaurant delievers authenticity, hospitality and good mood food.

I've been meaning to go here since I saw one of their ads, then seeing the reviews, made me even want to go. First, use your check in feature, you get free guacamole or queso dipping sauce for free. Everything we had was fresh! From the margaritas, the (free) guacamole, to the complementary corn chips we got, everything was very tasty. If there were any "gripes" it would be that her margarita had mint stems, preferred less, and the black beans had minimal flavor. Otherwise, the place is spacious and very much well-kept up. Keep this on your short list, I have a feeling we'll be back.

Loved the food and the ambiance. I'll definitely be back. I ordered the Street Taco, Mexican corn, and Sangria

I come here maybe once or twice a year. The food is fine. The service is fine. Prices...uh, ok. Anyway, I realize restaurants operate on razor thin margins but, really, there comes a time when you gotta face up to the fact that your establishment needs some sprucing up. It is TIME to address these saggy, lumpy, sorry booth seats (see photo). They were bad last time I was here and are only getting worse. Also, I didn't get a picture of it, but what did you have in mind when you installed the lighting? Dreary basement ambiance, perhaps? Eek. Fix stuff!

This is a Mexican restaurant that is on the corner of a major intersection and sort of shares parking with a gas station so it might not look too inviting when you first see it. This is why I have never been to this place but at the behest of a friend came here on a Tuesday for Taco Tuesday and I was impressed. The service is 5 star nice, like genuinely you have multiple people taking care of you, we kept getting our chips refilled without asking and the same thing with our drinks. The service really outshines even 5 star steakhouses. Our main waitress was super attentive and all of the food was brought out super quick, mind you this is also when the place is packed. The food was good, the chips and gauc were really on point. The tacos were alright, I mean they are street tacos so not your usual Americanized tex mex stuff. I got the bacon and chorizo ones which were pretty good, although I wish they had maybe a wider selection of tacos to choose from. I ordered a few drinks which can run a bit expensive (don't drink too many shots here as it'll run up the bill). Also it is super authentic Mexican food and I would recommend coming here, especially for the service. Ill be coming back to try some of their other menu items when I get a chance.

HITS. THE. SPOT. Hands down the best authentic Mexican restaurant in Cleveland. My husband and I do date nights at Tres about 3-5 times a month since it never disappoints. They have quite a few sister restaurants in CLE that we've tried, but the beachwood location has a full food and drink menu that we prefer. We're immediately given fresh chips and salsa within the first 2 minutes of being seated, our drinks come within 5 minutes of being ordered, and the food comes extremely quick, it's piping hot, well portioned, extremely flavourful and just excellent EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. I can say that between my husband and I, we've tried about every gourmet taco, fajita plate, margarita, and beer they have on menu; you cannot go wrong with your choice(s). The staff, food, drinks, & music are A++ :) (I don't usually take pictures of my food since I'm overly excited to eat it.. but I found one I sent to a friend!)

I had called the restaurant prior to inquire about the menu and was recommend by David to order the cod. I came back 2 hours later and was warmly greeted by him and he still remembered my call from earlier! He assured me I would get a large portion after I mentioned my budget. Inside was busy but not crowded. Lots of servers up and about. Very modern interior, clean bathroom as well. Per recommendation, I went with the crab crusted cod and oh my goodness, was it delicious. The crab topping was perfect texture wise and and had a slightly sweet flavor you expect of fresh crab. The cod was so tender, fall apart in your mouth type and was perfectly seasoned with a sauce to go on top. Fish had a slight spicy kick and that elevated the flavor beyond your typical cod fish, I suspect it was Cajun seasoning. The vegetable base was expctional as well. Fresh rice along with zucchini and corn all drizzled with the same delicious tangy sauce as the fish. At the end of the meal I complimented him on his recommendation and he told me their secret is the fish is always fresh from the morning, never frozen. And the cherry on top is this whole plate of food was only $26. For such a tasty, fresh, and large portion, that price is a steal. For context BJ Brewhouse next door will charge 36 for a tiny 5 oz fillet and mushy rice. Overall this cod was the best cod I have ever tasted and ranks among the top 2 pieces of fish I've ever eaten. Having tasted fish from Hawaii, California, Florida this cod dish at the price point of $26 easily surpasses $50 fish dishes I've had at fine dining restaurant in Cleveland and abroad. Highly recommend and ask for David if you can! He'll take care of you well.

Since we were hungry, we followed another yelper's advice of getting an appetizer since we were warned the mains can take 30-40 minutes. Tasted great, super crispy on the outside, chicken not the most juicy but still tender. 4/5. Also ordered the truffle orcchiette, pork chop, and heirloom carrots. The truffle orcchiette had a great al dente texture but surprisingly compared to the other yelper reviews, was saltier than expected. 4/5 Favorites were definitely the pork chop and heirloom carrots. The pork chop came without the bone, already chopped up, and was the he most tender pork chop I've had. 5/5 The carrots were so well seasoned, with a great charred taste and came with an addicting puree. 5/5 Service was fantastic, with great recommendations. While the birthday guest was away from the table, I did sneakily ask if they do anything for birthdays, and the staff said that they do a scoop of ice cream. Since the sticky toffee pudding already came with a scoop of ice cream, they were considerate to do 2 cookies instead--the cookies weren't too sweet and reminded me of brownie batter. Sticky toffee pudding was good. 4/5 Restaurant is located in Pinecrest so parking available as free parking in a garage about a block away or as pay by mobile street parking. Ambience is great, perfect for a nice meal for a date or hangout. Overall a great place to celebrate a special occasion due to all the good food choices and staff who know how to treat birthday guests well.

Eight years worth of Fairmount moments later, this review is well overdue. AMBIANCE: The ambiance allows you to slow down and enjoy your company. The restaurant is dim lit, has fireplaces, and loungey atmosphere. It somehow feels warm and I heard a lot of people refer to it as a second home (people are always so friendly here!). There is ample space - three bars, main dining space, and huge outdoor oasis bar. Nestled in Cedar Fairmount neighborhood, you'll also be able to enjoy historic neighborhood. There are seating arrangements if you're craving company or want to enjoy your date. Seating options include couches by the fireplace, tables, and high tops. Fairmount is delightful during every season. During the summer you can enjoy the bar and patio. In the winter you can dine at the igloos. I prefer all seasons here. FOOD/DRINKS: The menu at Fairmount is impressive and has exciting seasonal/weekly additions. You'll never get bored. The cocktails here are refined, very boozy, and very well crafted. The food is seriously delicious, and consistent every single time. I've been impressed with every dish. The dishes and drinks frequently follow the seasons. During my latest visit I enjoyed Butter Pecan Warm Cider with bourbon ($12, so bold and boozy, tastes like fall). I also ordered Fig Trouble Little China ($15, a more rich version of Old Fashioned, so delicious). I also tasted Short Rib & Risotto for the very first time ($28, such a delicious dish, every bite was just amazing). My favorites? Ah, so hard! I'll go with the Fairmount Burger! It's angus beef burger with bacon-fig chutney. It's so delicious! I can't even be serious about meat at the other burger places, this is easily the best burger in the city. My seasonal favorite? Kevin McCallister seasonal drink that resembles coquito or eggnog. The drink is topped with rice paper that includes the design of Kevin from Home Alone. It's such a fun tradition! I look forward to this drink all year and always tell the world about it! SERVICE: The service is excellent. I haven't been anywhere where service is right on point every single time. Everyone is nice - the owner, hosts, and waitstaff. You truly feel seen and like the most important guest. I've visited previously while on dates and frequently dine here solo, always had the most pleasant service. EVENTS: Many people book events here for their non-profits or companies. As far as individual events, Fairmount hosts a fun NYE party every year! PARKING: Onsite parking lot is available at the back of the building. You can enter through the front doors on Cedar or right through the parking lot door. There are numerous reasons why I love the Fairmount. I consider it to be the best dining experience in the Cedar Fairmount neighborhood of Cleveland Heights. I also love how the owner Jake is very engaged in the community and is incredibly friendly with the surrounding business owners. I'll choose this place again and again for calming ambiance, crafted cocktails, and delicious food. To many more years of Fairmount and at Fairmount!

It wasn't our first choice, but it ended up being a decent find--especially if you're in the mood for creative tacos. We arrived well after the lunch rush and there were only a handful of patrons in the restaurant, so it was fairly quiet. We ordered chips and salsa to start, but unfortunately they never made it to the table. When our food arrived and I asked about them, our waitress admitted she had forgotten to write it down. The food also seemed to take a bit longer than expected considering the restaurant wasn't busy. Because of that, the service was a little underwhelming. That said, the tacos themselves were the highlight of the visit. I ordered three of the smaller tacos, but they packed a lot of flavor. My picks were The Yoda, The Love Shack, and The Filthy Fajita--all creative and really well done. Small in size, but definitely big on flavor. Overall, the food was solid, but the service could use some improvement. If I lived in the area, I could definitely see this being a good happy hour spot to grab tacos and drinks with friends.
