I was running errands in Phoenix and it was almost 9pm and my sweet tooth was hurting for it's nightly sugar fix. I was driving by and see this place and pulled right in. Luckily caught them as they were closing but I got my fix satisfied. Pastries were thick sweet and melt in your mouth delicious. Zareth was wonderful taking care of me. Can't wait to try something different next time I'm on that side of town. The Agua Fresca was perfect the only thing I did do to it was add some vodka when I got home and made it into a night cap. Looks like it's just a drive thru and to go spot. read more

Went through the drive thru for some drinks with friends. I got an OG iced Cafe Horchata and oh my, it was amazing. It was a perfect balance of the creamy and spiced Horchata with the warmth of the espresso. I also got the Dulce de Leche empanada. This pastry was filled with the sweet and slightly salty dulce de leche with a flaky, cinnamon-coated pastry. Service was quick and welcoming. We ordered four drinks and they were out quickly but correctly. A great stop with unique menu and flavors to choose from! read more

Whenever I'm on this side of town, I have to come visit! It's always a must. I love their cafe de olla, iced with half &half. It reminds me of Oaxaca and with this summertime heat, it hits the spot. Pan is iconic, you can't say no to the pan! Service is always quick, easy, and so much fun! I love talking with the drink artists, and the cashiers. They are so funny and upbeat. The owners are amazing and deserve all the love and the support they giveback to the community They also sell Flowers sometimes, Reusable Coffee cups, and Shirts. I highly recommend the Prickly Pear Agua Fresca during the summer. And their cafe de olla is perfect for anytime of the day. Come visit if you haven't. 10/10 read more

It seems like they have a comprehension issue since they ask if you'd like whip on the drink and even though you say no and they repeat it, they still put whip on the drinks and to "fix" their issue they just scoop it out and leave you with a drink that's not even filled to where it's suppose to go. It's happened very occasionally and you'd think they'd have it down by now. read more

So, I'm never on this side of town anyy, but after a birthday lunch nearby with my sister, we decided to hit this place up. I have been to their now closed location a few times, but this was my first time at the OG. Parking lot was small, but filled with cars. However, no one was in the drive thru or the walkup, so unsure why it was packed. Ordered at the walk up. Service was good. Took a minute after we rang the bell. Order itself was made quickly. As always, the drink itself was delicious. I wish this location was closer to me, but highly recommend if you are on this side of town. read more

I find it so very hard to believe that this is my first review of Tres leches Café as they are extremely close to me, and I have been a fan and a customer of theirs since they were in a tiny little building on Roosevelt. The drink creations are creative, authentic and delicious. The service is usually amazing even though my favorite barista is no longer there. Now, about the building it's adorable, has great paintings and you should plan on taking a selfie while you're there as most customers do. read more

Parked next door since i couldnt find parking there. Thought there would be seating but there wasnt. Walked up to the window, rang the bell, waited a few minutes to get service. We are visitng from Washington so the wait was brutal in the 100+ degree weather. Which there was clear indication that this was a drive through only. Anyway. I decided to try this place out. I love to try drinks from different areas. I'm a sucker for cafe de olla and horchata. So I had to order those drinks. The person was helpful and said most people get the cafe de olla with half and half. I also got an empanada de manzana. Would definitely recommend this place. I was able to order in their drive thru. Guysss this is my new favorite coffee spot and how had I not stopped by sooner?! I stopped by with my sister on Saturday evening and we decided to get off to order thinking there was an "inside." Walking up we realized that we couldn't go inside as there was only a window to order. The employee quickly came up to the window and we placed our orders. I had a small iced Flan latte and my sister ordered a small iced Churro latte. We didn't wait too long and she handed us our drinks. The employee was super friendly and had a smile on her face the whole time we were there. She gave us two conchas for free since she noticed that it was our first time there. This made our day:) The drinks were very good! My flan latte was very creamy, tasty, and it wasn't too sweet, it was enjoyable. My sisters churro latte was another hit. It legit tasted like a cinnamon-y churro. It was gooood. The conchas were delicious as well and they were actually sweet. The bread itself was moist and not dry, which is important - I dislike it when sweet bread is dry and tastes like cardboard. I can't wait to be back! The employee made our visit 1000x better and she made us feel welcomed. The drinks and conchas were fantastic!! First review of 2024! Appropriate because I love Tres Leches. I've been to their flagship location several times but this was my first time visiting their South Phoenix location. My boba sistah and I finished hiking at South Mountain and I wanted to stop here since it was a few miles away. They are doing construction on Central Avenue for the light rail so it's a bit busy trying to get in and out of this area. This is a drive-thru only location but they have a walk-up window so we ordered our drinks from there. I got the Tres Aztecas, my go-to along with the Tres Mexicanos. I love mochas and these drinks are pretty similar, and I like that they are spiced. The OG is a nice size (their medium) and I usually savor this hot drink throughout the next day. My sistah and her little one enjoyed their agua sucia de nuez and tres paraísos licuado (smoothie) respectively. The barista was friendly and got us our drinks within a few minutes. They have a rewards program so be sure to sign up for that. They send discounts pretty often so we got 15% off of our drinks today. Love to support this small business and will visit when in the area again! They are also very active in the community and support great causes, so I have deep respect for them. read more

Cute little coffee shop! No seating, walk up and order or do drive thru only. The service was so nice here and surprisingly fast considering how many people were here. I originally got the cafe de frida.... it was extremely watered down, but i feel like if it had a thicker consistency it would be way better for sure. it tasted like a water down horchata.... after trying my boyfriends drink i knew i had to get it as well. We both ended up with the tres mexicanos... oh man this is like a mexican mocha for sure! I wish it had a little bit more caffeine but the flavors of the chocolate were so dang good! It tasted like a iced chocolate abuelita. oh man! so good. we got a total of 2 drinks and two pan dulces and it came out to almost 20$ pretty pricey. Definitely happy that we tried it, but i will say that the pan dulces were just meh. I've definitely have had better. The thought of getting a concha and a cafe thru a drive thru is super innovative and awesome though. Definitely worth a visit if youre in the area. read more

I have been twice and really like the dessert style coffee. I think it's expensive but reasoned that it's a local place and supporting local is important to me. However, I treated myself to a coffee today and upon finishing found a screw at the bottom of my drink. I even started bringing my out of state relatives here to try the coffee since I loved it so much and now they wish there was one in California. Just the advertising was not accurate. Told girl was doing the 5 for $25 they have on the window and when it came to ring it up it was $32 for the deal 5 for $32. If I would not have noticed i would have gotten charged more than what I thought I was paying for. Its been twice, central and van Buren. Get it updated otherwise it's false advertising if people are not even realizing. Otherwise drinks are awesome read more

Don't really like this location, I liked the dt location on van buren better. I wish it was still open. I got the iced cafe churro which is my favorite. We also got 2 Conchas which were really good. The wait time took a while with one couple ahead of us. I'm really hoping the other location is closed temporarily otherwise I might be coming here less often. read more

Today I was so excited to try out "Arizona's #1 Mexican Coffee shop" but was sorely disappointed when I got the horchata flavored latte. The coffee was watered down and after one sip my mouth was coated in what maybe was cinnamon powder. Which in actuality tasted like they threw a pound of sand in there and called it a day. After reading a couple reviews maybe I was unlucky and got a bad barista either way this coffee was terrible! read more

Always a fantastic experience at 3LC! The drinks are delicious and reasonably priced. The Café de Frida and Tres Aztecas are my favorites, and the strawberry horchata is also delightful. The staff is always welcoming and provides excellent service. I end up leaving with complimentary pan often! The drive-thru is convenient to access from the side street entrance. There is a sweet mural that adds to the ambiance. You can also walk up to the window to order there. The rewards program makes it easy to get free drinks. This spot is a gem! First time visiting this cafe and we didn't realize this location was drive thru/walk up only. We were greeted and they made our order pretty quickly which I was happy about because we were standing outside in the heat and they don't have a lot of shade. We didn't want pastries at the time we ordered but we weren't able to find a menu to see what they had available. Arrived shortly after they opened on a Monday. This is a drive thru only location. They do not have a menu set up on the drive thru board, just bar codes to scan. The building is pretty and colorful so easy to spot. The staff at the window was very nice and patient as this was my first time so I had to look over the menu a bit. I got the flan OG iced coffee and a shorty strawberry horchata smoothie. I asked about the pastries and was told the pumpkin was the best seller. I got that one and the staff threw in a free crema empanada for me to try since I asked about it. I'm glad she did because I liked this one more than the pumpkin one. The cake layers tasted like a sponge cake with slightly dry edges (a little over-baked). I think the espresso layers were mousse and not too sweet. It was topped with a chocolate covered espresso bean that was tasty as well. Overall it was a nice afternoon treat. I would like to go back sometime and try their Japanese cheesecake, and their raisin bread loaf too.

Sweet D got a cherry and an apple turnover delivered into the box. It is five days later. My sugar intake has dropped a lot. In our home baking we cut sugar ingredients by half. Older Hopi bakers put in enough sugar for a hint of sweet in their cookies. Modern bakers glaze them. I'll take those traditional ones. When I say the shortbread cup with custard was too sweet for me, that's my 21st century palate speaking. The almond cup was a buy-again item for me, still sweet, very almond. The cherry turnover was flaky, the filling tart, oozing fillng and cherries. The gold medal, blue ribbon "I'd buy this again, for sure is the apple turnover. After asking a few Yelp friends where to find the best Italian cookies in Phoenix, The Sicilian Baker kept coming up. I called them last minute on Christmas Eve eve, having never been there before, totally sight unseen. First of all, their voicemail is hilarious. Truly. If you do nothing else, call just to hear it. It will instantly make you want to order something. Once I reached a real person, I explained my situation, that I wouldn't be able to come in beforehand, I needed a beautiful cookie tray for about 14-16 people, and I had a few must have preferences. Without hesitation, they said, "We got you." I was assured it would be ready when I landed on Xmas eve. Sure enough, after my partner picked me up from the airport, we headed straight to The Sicilian Baker. Parking right out front, a huge plus. As soon as you pull in, you're greeted with Frank Sinatra playing, not just inside, but even in the parking lot. It sets the tone immediately. We walked in, gave my name, and within minutes a lovely young person brought out my tray. Ten minutes later, we were on our way. Easy. Efficient. Warm service that made me actually grab a small box of cookies to drop my besties home on the way outta there. I didn't even realize at first that there's a sit down restaurant next door where you can relax and enjoy something. Great to know for next time ;) . Now, let's talk about the cookies. Yes, they are on the pricier side, but every single dollar was worth it. The tray was robust. Classic Italian pastries across the board like lobster tails, tri-colored almond cakes, cannolis, and all the favorites you hope for when you're trying to impress a room full of potential inlaws. And impress it did. The moment I walked in with that tray, it was a hit. People were already claiming which pastries they wanted, plotting what they'd take home, and hovering before dinner was even finished. There was more than enough for 16 people, grand is the only word for it, which is my style 1,000%. To this day, they're still talking about those cookies which makes me phenomenally proud (and humbled). I say this in all my reviews, "I hate almost everything. I'm discerning. I'm critical. And when something truly represents what I stand for - quality, authenticity, and heart, I will shout it from the rooftops". The Sicilian Baker delivered New York level excellence in Phoenix!
