As I was browsing, more customers also entered the toy aisle. A few moments later, another employee (male Asian) approached me and asked if I could wait until they finished stocking before looking at the toys. He told me it was "disrespectful" to browse while they were working, and his tone came across as rude and confrontational. I explained that I wasn't the only customer browsing in the aisle, as several other shoppers were there as well. I was surprised because I was simply shopping during normal business hours. I don't understand how browsing merchandise in an open store could be considered disrespectful while employees are stocking shelves. I've never had this experience at any other Target location. At other Target stores, employees are usually friendly and even ask if I need help while continuing to stock the shelves. If it's important for employees to stock shelves without customers nearby, it would make more sense to do so during closing hours or at less busy times. I hope management reviews this incident and reminds employees to treat customers with courtesy and professionalism. Shopping during regular business hours should never make customers feel unwelcome.

There are more than 85 stores and restaurants at the Carlsbad Premium Outlets. My wife's favorite is the Ann Taylor Factory Store. The floors are covered in hair, dust, dirt, and random debris that looks like it's been accumulating for months. It's genuinely disgusting and feels unhygienic to the point of being a health concern (Hello Athletes foot). To make it even more absurd, the fitting rooms close one full hour before the store does, because employees say managers want everything "put away before store closing" An hour feels excessive, especially when that "extra time" clearly isn't being spent on actual cleaning. After these two main issues for many years, it's clear this isn't a staffing issue. It's the culture at this store. After years of dealing with rude service and filthy fitting rooms, I finally tried contacting corporate. Their main number (262‑703‑7000) doesn't connect you to a human at all, just endless automated prompts. So not only is the store a mess, but there's no real way to report any of it. At this point I'm considering writing an old-fashioned letter instead, though I have no idea if it would even get read or routed to anyone who could act on it. Between the attitude, the dirt, the early closures, and the complete lack of accountability, this Kohl's earns a 1‑star rating, and that's being generous.
