I shop TJMaxx online every day, and make purchases about twice a month. I buy mostly clothes for myself and my family, spending thousands over the course of one year. Sometimes the clothes don't fit, and I have to return them. There's an employee here, who I think is a manager, older caucasian man. He hassles me every time I am here, because he has a problem with me returning stuff. The thing is that when I come here to return stuff, I end up shopping in store and spend more money. So this low level manager disagrees with company policy and mistreats a long time customer. read more

I was looking for a baby girl gift. I found what I wanted at this store. I forgot my gift card so I asked the clerk to hold them for me. She was quite gracious in accepting my request. I'm not sure why everyone seems to have a bad experience -I love TJMaxx!! I know what to expect when I get here -we are all looking for a deal that's why it exists! this isn't Nordstroms C'mon people! All of things here are reduced for a reason, not all things - but all these types of stores get a bad rap- I love coming here for clothes , gifts,housewares and finding the brand names cheaper than I would get it for at the mall. Yes it can get a lil messy at times but it's worth coming - right? This TJ Maxx really needs to replace a lot of their current employees. Talk about being rude! Especially the older asian lady that works in the purses and an older guy that is always literally running all over the store bumping into costumers. Everyone has complaint about the purse lady but they must not have anyone applying because she still there. Come on TJ Maxx, I know that there has too be applicants! I came in to take a ganter at finding a few items I needed, and boy oh boy was highly disappointed. Unfortunately, I did not take evidential photos as proof, but it does not take a genius to see when a store needs serious help! Unorganized, lacked stocking expertise, and the inventory was disheveled. Many clothing merchandise was on the floor. It was like a Tasmanian Devil blasted into the establishment and caused a tornado of mass destruction. TJ Maxx incorporated should be ashamed to have a slogan like "You should go" more like "You should hide and seek a basement to save yourself" ... worst shopping experience ever. This is a busy store and you can tell by the line at the check out and by the store not being organized. They could use more help in making the store look a little more tidy. T.J. Maxx is 'Disneyland for Women' I always say. The one on Hacienda in Oceanside is absolutely 'FABULOUS.' Loaded with new merchandise, Holiday things, bedding, great purses & beautiful affordable jewelry. Wow. I've found lots of 'furnishings' for 3 homes in the last few years. My only problem is that I tend to spend too much. HA! I give every one of them in California & Arizona I visited 5 STARS. If I could give 10... I would!! What can I say? I love me some TJ Maxx, reminds me of Target. You go in without a list and come out with so many goodies at a good price. Do look at the purse section and jewelry. I have found so many key pieces that don't turn green. I usually go for the plants and décor. Pricing is very competitive too. Overall, clean store with decent bathrooms. read more

I have shopped here multiple times. Today, I did an exchange (returned 2 items for 1 new one). Transaction was easy and stressfree. Staff was pleasant. Slight misunderstanding when exchanging, but was easily resolved. The wait time in line was less than 5 minutes. All but one register was active. I never expect these type of stores to be extremely organized. IMO, they all kind of end up looking like a hurricane came through them. With that in mind, I have always enjoyed my shopping experiences. I have yet to encounter a rude employee. I hope it never happens. Parking is ample and the strip plaza it's in is clean. read more

One of my favorite places to shop, where I know I'll be getting a great deal. I've purchased cute tops, work out gear, home essentials for the bathroom and items to decorate the bedroom, etc. I rarely leave empty handed. There's always something new in store to check out. They have gifts for anyone on your list, and for almost any occasion. During the holidays they have everything out in baskets stocked in the middle of the store behind the women's clothing. There's last minute items you can look through while in line. Sales associates are friendly and the lines aren't too bad.The Store itself is pretty organized, clean, brightly lit. read more

First staff is nice so I want to compliment them. This next comment is for store manager and how they operate the jewelry counter . They only have one employee working the jewelry counter. Instead of that employee manning the jewelry counter only , she kept ringing up customers with various items( not even jewelry) and having to leave to go to front counter to have security tags removed. Then people would be stacked up waiting to look at jewelry- with NO idea who's been waiting the longest. That's not a very good system. Posting a 1-Star review just for the character of their employees. Store hours state they open at 9:00am. A line of customers are outside waiting for the doors to be open (late), and all the employees come outside laughing saying "They thought we open at 9, it's 9:30". (The website says 9AM). Where do I even start?... Dont think about taking an infant or child who sits in a cart because 9/10 they don't have any besides the two that other people have. We we're told to wait by the door for a cart when we asked for one... kinda shocked me... especially to see that NOBODY had a cart... I'm 29 weeks pregnant so when I went to use their bathroom I was completely disgusted and disappointed that the only toilet that was available was covered in fecal matter.. the second toilet was being used by a women who thought it was appropriate to leave the stall door open... when I approached the worker to let her know about her disgusting bathroom she was more worried about her having to clean it over the fact that customers couldn't use their facilities. Definitely will not be going back. 10/10 do not recommend. read more

I have visited this location a few times and todays visit was in search for a specific dish or platter. I found a few good options, but I was finding many things that I didn't need! The store was well stocked and orderly. The store just opened so that may have something to do with it. The prices are slightly higher than other competition stores not too far away. You can find a lot of choices from adult to infants clothing, beddings, home accessories, shoes and even needs for your pets! The checker was very friendly and was very tactful at trying to get me to sign up for a card. I will definitely have to remember to keep this place on the list to shop for gifts and even for myself. I didn't find what I was in search for, but I did find some good finds for the kitchen and some new tops for me too. read more

They said "they are out of the plastic bags" so I either had to by their "cheap" expensive bags or no bags. So they made my choice for me. For the .10 bags they ran out of (yeah sure I believe that) they saved me $200-$300. Hope .20 was worth it. Had the worst experience today with the Manager (Jose) I can't even wrap my thoughts around to describe the incident. Went in looking for a gift with my 3 little ones, already overwhelmed as you can imagine, we come across this man and he acknowledges us for a quick second then proceeded to look at us up and down, I could see him judging us from the corner of my eyes, as we're trying to walk he starts to walk towards my little daughter and literally tries to walk over with so hate in his face, I instantly tell him to be careful and point out how he almost ran her over and all he said was have a good day. Today was bad customer service EVER!! They forgot put in my purchased goods. I figured out when I get a home. I already trashed receipt but I was drive back to pick up my purchased goods. Already stressed out. The other employee take care of me and this goods was there with note. But he said "I can't give you without receipt that just only way" "But I lost receipt how can I get?" I have sound some great things here over the years ..... not sure of they are still open after CoVid but there were a lot of pretty cool home and clothing or toiletry bargains here. I don't love that they seldom tidy up enough, makes the environment look a mess and they generally could make more effort with displays and hygiene - but I guess that what you get when you have a lot of people searching for bargains and a low wage of staff. Several times I have been here the fancy, talk, blonde, older woman that works the front has been VERY rude. Today we returned a few baby shower gifts we changed our minds on. This location had some great deals. I did feel like the selection was picked over and a lot of the clothes, purses and luggage, especially the beauty products, did not offer a great selection. However, what I was able to do was to buy my family a lot of shorts, shirts, hoodies, and pants, and I got a lot of goods for a decent amount. This isn't my favorite TJ Maxx store, but I would recommend it. There is a Goodwill right next to this store, but their selections, I wasn't impressed with. read more

I had an horrible experience with Debra the assistant manager at the location. She was not helpful at all. I bought a jacket there and it was a prior return from another guest ( I could tell because the ticket was a created ticket). I came back to return it because I found a stain on it. They told me they couldn't return it because it didn't match the item. (I know I bought it at this store - I live in Orange County and could not find the receipt) however I shop at this location a lot when I visit family down here. This was a $69 dollar jacket and it's not my fault that they ticketed the item wrong when I bought it. I even offered to find the receipt and bring it back to the store and she still said that might not be good enough. Just a really bad experience for how much money I spend there. I shop at this TJ Maxx multiple times a week because they are constantly bringing out new merchandise. Great turn over for clothing and housewares. The dressing rooms are clean as is the store. I've made many returns and exchanges without any hassle. I wouldn't mind seeing higher end items at this location instead of having to go to Encinitas but for now, this is one of my main shopping staples. read more
