The checkout experience at this location was extremely frustrating. The line stretched all the way to the end caps, yet although four cashiers were visible, the manager (Iliana) stayed at the back counter instead of stepping in to help move things along. One customer's return tied up a cashier, who then took additional time slowly putting items back instead of assisting the long line. Another cashier went on lunch while the line was still backed up, and the return transaction required tagging and manager approval while everyone waited. To make matters worse, my item had a visible price but no barcode, which led to a price check instead of a quicker solution. After waiting more than ten minutes just to check out, it felt like there was no urgency or leadership on the floor. With the number of associates present, the line could have moved much faster if customer service had been prioritized. read more

I always have a lovely shopping experience at this Marshalls location despite the long lines. The key is to shop as soon as they open or when they're about to close (especially if know what you want). There are certain items I consistently buy and glad they always have them. But, I've had a few circumstances where I saw something once and didn't see it again. Another key thing is to just buy what you've seen instead of thinking they'll have more later on. I feel like the prices are reasonable....looove to come across clearance items. The staff are always welcoming and helpful. There is a wonderful selection of items at this location of Marshalls. The racks are well organized. Prices of Clearance Items are very affordable. The store is clean and bright. I briefly spoke with the Manager, Perla, to ask where the Restrooms are located. She kindly directed me to where they were. I walked too far and she helped me once again by kindly redirecting me to where they were located. I appreciate that very much. Lots of parking in front of the store. I bought a bag here last week and came to return it because it was dirty on the inside and I just didn't like it. I wasn't what I expected to look like with my outfit. And I had the receipt and the tags and the manager fought out refused to refund me with everything that I had. I bought a lotion for $7.99 and realized the other day, as I was going through my paperwork, that the cashier rang me up twice. The items had the same bar code/scan number so it was easy to see the error on the receipt. It wasn't a lot of money but still thought I should get it back. I worked all week and weekend with exception to Christmas day and tonight was the first opportunity to get to the store after work. I drove there from Oceanside and stood in a long line with my receipt in hand. Once I reached the cashier, she stated she had to get mgmt. approval. The manager, named Jackie, came over and literally scolded me for not calling first and for waiting too long (15 days) to come in. I was like what? She stated that because I waited to come in, she would not refund my $7.99 and instead would give me gift card. I asked her what she considered a "long time" when the company policy is 30 days or less? She ignored me 3 times before finally answering that I should have looked and came in within a day or two. I truly felt this woman should have said "I am so sorry this happened and that you had to make a trip back to the store due to our error". Customer service is very poor. I purchase clothes online often. When I receive them, I try them on and if it doesn't fit, then I return it. That is the process for online shopping. A female employee leaving for the night driving a black pickup truck screamed "DONT FORGET TO LEAVE OUR CART" as my husband was loading the contents of the aforementioned cart into our vehicle. Why do you think we would even want to take it when we HAVE A VEHICLE!? Is it because our ride isn't a brand new vehicle? Awfully cruel and judgmental statement to make as a representative of her place of employment! And to SHOUT it at us from her truck as if we were not even worth the time it would take her to walk over and politely ask us to return the cart. We're not wealthy people, obviously. But that shouldn't immediately translate to "thieves" in the minds of your employees. That interaction really felt like a punch in the gut. Talk about kicking your neighbors while they're down... I already feel quite self conscious about my financial situation and now knowing that others quite possibly view me as a possible criminal or lowlife because of it breaks my heart We are very seriously leaning towards returning everything we purchased tonight as soon as this place opens in the morning. DO NOT OPEN A MARSHALLS CREDIT CARD HERE. I used to love going here, one day they convinced me to open a credit card. A couple weeks later I go to pay that balance, Synchrony Bank tells me there's another charge that was made the following day for almost $200! I didn't even have my card yet to make the charge. Someone at the store clearly kept my new card temporary information when I signed up and used it to purchase things. It's been over a month and I am still fighting this fraudulent charge. read more

Love the merchandise but for the last six months the customer service has gone downhill. The lines, which always used to move fast even when there were tons of people, are completely out of hand. Don't go here. This place does not follow guidelines. The line at checkout was long and people were definitely not practicing social distancing. No markings no one to regulate social distancing. I got a perfume on clearance because it was open to begin with, tried returning it and gave me attitude saying they wouldn't have sold perfumes that are open when they have PLENTY opened fragrances that are on clearance. She shoved my perfume back to me and told me to take it back to the location I got it from. No type of customer service skills, incredibly rude, how could someone with no customer service skills even be given a coordinator position. Fantastic Marshalls location! I stopped by with my coworker Friday night for some Christmas shopping. They had a lot of great brands here! They even sell Kate Spade clothing for cheap! It has better deals than the outlets nearby. I didn't purchase any cosmetics from here but they do carry Anastasia Beverly Hills contour palettes and highlighter sets. I came to this location to see if they had any yellow tag clearance stuff. I found nothing for me but my daughter found a unicorn tee shirt she really wanted. It was $6.00 red tag. I also found gummy bears which were Albanese brand. That was all I got from here. Store was organized and the lady working here was nice as she made conversation with me. I was a little disappointed in the selection here. I was looking for yellow tags. I found more at the San Ysidro location but I guess my hunt continues as I look for great deals. I'm a fan of Marshall's. They seem to have more of odds and ends selection compared to a Ross. There might be less of a men's section compared to Ross though. Saying that there are usually a couple nice articles of clothing you can find and who doesn't like a bargain. They have a nice ball cap/hat section. read more

The only thing I don't like about Marshall's is that it can feel pretty unorganized at times. Other than that, it has some high quality things with small price tags. Plus, they have it all... I always thought it was just clothes... but it's really not. If it's house or pet related... they probably have it. This includes snacks, Himalayan salt (which is normally very expensive), coconut oil (also otherwise expensive), dishes, pots, pans, cutting boards, knives/silverware.... All types of bathroom and cleaning stuff... Shower curtains, decorative and covered trash cans, toilet bowl cleaners and plungers... it also has mats, broom and mops, etc etc... And to top it off, they have electronics. Chargers, headphones, cell phone covers... I'd check it out for sure. I actually really like that place. read more

The place is filthy! Dust and lint so thick coming off of the filters and vents in the ceiling falling all over the clothes and on people. I mentioned it to the cashier one time I was in but I've been back multiple times and still the issue hasn't been taken care of. The store is very hot making it miserable to shop. The Las Posas location is exponentially better. The Marron location is unorganized, unkempt and unimaginative. Employees would rather be doing anything else other than getting lines down. Came in to return items. Very crowded store. Lines are long but the wait times aren't bad. Appears longer than it is. Apparently a yellow tag means its final sale but no where on the sticker or receipt is that indicated. Luckily, the manage ok'd the refund but it could cause a lot of problems I'm sure. I'm not a huge fan of the Marshalls/Ross/TJ Maxx family but I work near this Marshalls and use it as an excuse to get out of the office every once in a while. I first shopped here for kitchen and bathroom goods after a move, and I was impressed by the tidiness that usually lacks in these sections at discount stores. I branched out into the workout section when I needed a new yoga mat, and from there I checked out the women's tops (both workout and non-workout). Totally pleased! I can't buy many new things these days but Marshalls makes it a little less painful when I do ;) And I've gotta mention that the cute little woman who works the dressing rooms on weekdays is a total sweetheart!! read more

I'd like to leave a zero star but that's not an option. Worst customer service!! I purchased a pair of flips flops at this location. Flip flops did not fit... when returning flip flops with original packaging, receipt (within 30 days) and original bag I was accused of returning a used object. I informed the cashier that I have never worn them and that's how I purchased them. They do not fit me and that's why I am returning them. The cashier was just plain rude. I don't appreciate the rude customer service!! Long story short, the cashier was in the wrong. I do not like to leave negative comments on yelp, but this needed to be addressed.
