I had a gift to me with a gift receipt that I wanted to quickly return after work due to it not being my size. They informed me I would need to wait in line with all the customers who were initially purchasing things, mind you this line had maybe 10 people with carts and 2 registers open. A little ridiculous they don't have some sort of customer service for the purpose of returns and other questions. read more

The staff are friendly but the place is an unorganized dump. Management needs to step up their game or be fired. Having worked many retail stores this is totally unacceptable. read more

I came into this store with a iPhone case I had purchased about 3 weeks to maybe 4 weeks prior that had turned a weird color, I simply asked if I could exchange it with the ones they still had ( obviously I just had got it from there not long ago they had tons in stock) I didn't know they couldn't look up a purchase ( she made that clear they have never been able to) .. I also work in retail and can look up old purchases ( even Target / Walmart) how am I to know they don't have that ability... the cashier was very cold and made me feel like I was lying about my case.. I mean it was $14.99 I could have just bought another one if it was too much for them to exchange. I told her I didn't mind and she said it was fine, but she made clear I knew it was something they didn't do and was extremely rude. The manager also wasn't very pleasant and also made sure to announce that wasn't part of there return policy ... thank you for swapping my case but also thank you for making sure me and my family will not be returning to your store ... I would have rather had them tell me no, then how they treated me. I guess I'm upset because I work in retail and never treat someone like they were dumb.... customer service is your job!!! read more

If I could leave 0 stars I would. I came here after buying lights with a visa gift card. The lights ended up not working so I went to return the very next day. I processed my return with Rosalie C. Terrible customer service she said that I was unable to process my return back to the visa gift card and therefore I would have to get back a gift card that was only usable at Marshall's or TJ maxx. I asked there's no way to put it back to a different card? She said nope. I asked then will you at least try and she said no. There was no willingness to go above and beyond to meet customer service needs. Very disappointed in my experience here. read more

Not gonna lie I came here for ugly sweater shopping. Ended up more or less just creating an ugly outfit, but not Holiday or sweatered. After some time I realized this and proceeded to walk out. The things I noticed the most were the 2 dressing rooms on the east side of the store, I hope there were more elsewhere because a store of that size with so few dressing rooms would be a nightmare. Good thing I know my size and was in and out fast. I was surprised at the prices. I guess for many things it's decent, but for a wool cardigan was 2-3 times more expensive than the other ugly sweaters I bought elsewhere, new or used. This was discouraging. I'll have to come back when I have more time or I'm not on a mission to get a real feel for this because I know people who can and do find steals here. read more

I've been shopping here for 35 years. I bought some headphones here two days ago and the cord snapped out of the headphone so the earbud became detached. At no fault of my own. The "coordinator" Jacqui J was very rude. I had the receipt. But of course threw away the packaging. She at first said you have to have the receipt or the packaging. Who saves packaging on headphones? The only reason I'm giving two stars is because the ACTUAL MANAGER came over and authorized an exchange on the 6.99 headphones. Totally lame horrible customer service. Treated me like a criminal when I spend probably 250 a month average over the years! Jacqui actually said you could be bringing old headphones in and trying to cheat us. As well. I heard Jacqui talking about a customer in a negative manner the last time I was there. #loser I did have the receipt btw!!! read more

i always shop at marshall's and love it. went to this location to return a product that was never used and not opened either. i purchased it 35 days ago and they have a return policy of 30 days. they were rude to me about me asking if they could still except it but they wouldn't. they were also rude and so was there manager. i believe that only 30 day return policy is wack. read more

If I could give this place zero stars I would. Don't waste your time going to this location. Extremely unorganized and lack customer service skills. Returned some items that were on different receipts and asked for a credit. Everything was fine until the so called manager claimed that none of my items could be returned because she looked them up and claimed they longer had the items in her system and had donated them to charity. That's crazy because the sales associate was able to locate them in the system...That has absolutely nothing to do with meif you guys donated your stuff...good for you, but I bought my items with my hard earned money. BUT she did carry on a conversation with her coworker about how FUN fishing was . Also, another worker on her right did a mistake of not asking for an ID for a return and went on how not to say it out loud . I handed her my $$ and just said HERE. Clearly no customer service and unprofessional to carry on a conversation.besides the lack of customer service this place is a mess clothes everywhere . Marshalls is waayyyy better than Ross. I come by weekly and there are always awesome new items at great prices. Always clean and organized and the girls always help me if I'm trying to find an item in another size. Today I found a perfect little black dress and I got my favorite Ralph Lauren sheets here. read more

This Marshall's is a hit or miss. A few years ago, I found $20 boots that I still love and wear consistently but since then, I only find things like this maybe once every year. Not the cleanest Marshall's, probably due to the location. I prefer the San Marcos one or the Mission Valley one over this one, but I still come here when I have money burning a hole in my pocket, since this one is the closest to me. read more

It wasn't(?) bad enough that 2 of 3 stalls had signs saying out of order but the sole working one was strewn with toilet paper/other on the floor and the sink area needs cleaning as well. Poorly ran establishment. I will no longer be going to this store. I bought a pair of flats that I wanted to break in a DAY PRIOR to an event, while trying to break them in for an hour or two tops I realized how uncomfortable they were and how bad they hurt. I tried to return these basically new shoes because they hurt so bad there was no sense in keeping them. When I got to the register the cashier was very rude, she told me I could not return them, I said that was absurd since I bough them 24 hours ago and she said that due to chemical exposure on the shoe they could not be returned.I told the cashier I HAVE SEEN SHOES IN WORSE CONDITION ON THE SALES FLOOR. She said yes but those weren't due to outside exposure. She asked if I wanted to speak to her manager (that had already declined the refund in the first place). I said no, I had already been stared at by other nosy shoppers and made to feel like some criminal when I was in my right to return a product that I did not find to my satisfaction. You can definitely tell a difference from Oceanside to Carlsbad. This store is shopped hard by customers, meaning they thrash the shelves making it look messy. You can find some decent items in here, guess it depends on what your looking for. Good luck rummaging! read more

Worst place to shop and spend your money. I just to come here all the time, because it was nice , clean . Organize and happy employees , but since the new manager which I believe her name is Lucy. This place is so bad. So messy , no place to find a what I need , without know who Lucy was. Love this Mashall's! They have great selection and carry way nicer things than the Ross which is nearby, the prices are also the same, sometimes even more reasonable!! The store is always clean and organized. They have a wide selection of top name brands that are top quality for phenomenal prices. The staff is very friendly and helpful. read more

Marshals in general seems to have really good prices and some higher end merchandise than Ross, similar to TJ Maxx. This location was overwhelmingly full and a bit disorganized with stuff so packed in it was hard to see what you were looking at. Maybe they were still recovering from Black Friday. read more

i work right down the street so I'm always here, but I won't buy shoes here, selection isn't large enough, heels aren't high enough. Clothes selection is limited to whatever is almost out of style, but they also have classic stuff too: skinny jeans, tank tops, t-shirts, etc. etc. Customer service is really good, the employees are always willing to help out, and sometimes you can get great buys from home decor to kid's clothing, they always have what I need, and at really good price, quality and name brands. read more

Designer handbags all day long. The prices here are much more reasonable than at Nordstrom Rack. So it is not cheap but if you want to splurge and spend their hard earned money on a little bit of special items, this place is a great place to start. My husband and I walked into this store today just because it was next to sees and we had an hour to kill before our movie would start. I ended up getting shoes and pajamas for my son for bake times and my husband purchased dresses for our daughter for valentines at a very cheap price. Kids 2 piece outfits such as ninja turtles, puma and polo brands were as low as $4.99. The store was surprisingly organized and we loved how organized check out was. That had great valentines and Easter items as well. read more

Very unorganized store and very dirty. There was shelves with open products spilling onto other products. another thing, MARICELA from home needs to learn how to smile. I was in the store for about an hour and never did I see this girl smile. She was the worst of all. Marshalls is my favorite bargain store! I don't mind a treasure hunt for the right deal, but what I DO mind is poor customer service and sour attitudes (which has happened at this location before). Even more unfavorable is when it comes from the manager. After my experience at the Marron Rd location today, I am left very disappointed with the manager's disconcern, nonfriendly responses, and blank stares, to my common inquiries regarding an item; and when I asked to speak to the manager (having not yet read her name tag), with a pompas attitude, she quickly declared herself the manager and turned away. Really great store, I am moving out soon and I have gotten almost everything I need here. The only reason I am knocking off a star is because it is sometimes messy in there, and it has really long lines. Since this store changed managers it has turned into a horrible mess, I have been a frequent, at least three times a month shopper of this store for almost twelve years, and I have never seen such a mess that it has become as I saw today when I went into it. Clothes all over the floor, stuffed onto racks, shelf's in disarray sales clerks talking to one another, and ignoring customers. No friendly familiar faces I am so use to seeing. I will be driving to Solano Beach to do my shopping at Marshals there from now on. Who ever is in charge of this store, is not doing his or her job. They have let go of a good and friendly staff. I come in to this location all the time with a my dog( he's calm and has manners) I asked before if it's okay to bring dogs and I was told yes. So I've always gone there with my dog and one of the managers always comes up and says hi to my dog. Today I go into the store and I get harassed by this older women ( a customer) and I ask the manager ( a different one then usual) if dogs were aloud and she said yes. Yet had the audacity to stick up for the older women and tell me that dogs were aloud but not right now. I doubt I'll come back here. Terrible read more
